PLEASE Define the Term "Everyone"

Terminology is something that has bothered me a long time given it came be subject to different interpretations. A prime example is the term "Everyone" in CC profiles. The literal definition is exactly as the term states---everyone! But in reality---that broad interpretation doesn't reflect reality given exceptions. CC members--I assume---would not include an axe murderer when selecting the option in their profile--maybe I am wrong--who knows! I almost think "Everything" selection should be aired with an exception box. I imagine a little bravery is required to respond to the following but--I am curious! What is your definition of "Everyone" and what would be your exceptions?

  • When I say everyone, I assume it’s already implied that I would not cuddle someone that disrespects my boundaries or is a violent person. I certainly shouldn’t have to explain that to anyone. When I say everyone, that means that as long as there is a mutual respect for each others safety, I don’t care how you look or identify yourself as. I will snuggle the bajessuz outta you.

    Another brilliant, thought provoking post.

I’m not responding out of bravery, I am responding out of perpetual frustration for your posts! I don’t know why you continue to abuse the good and liberal graces of these message boards by doing the same thing over and over and over again. You CONSTANTLY throw out these ridiculous, mindless and rubbish posts, then you ALWAYS follow it up with some self deprecating comment like ‘maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m crazy, call me nuts’ etc. I can’t even begin to count how many times you’ve done this here.

Actually, maybe it is me that is wrong this time. Perhaps there IS some merit to your idea!
“Everyone” should be allowed to post on these message boards.
    (Insert exception box here).

  • you can't please everyone---thats why there is always the option to ignore

    Please define the term "Everyone"

  • Not every single thought needs to become a post lol 😂

Of course you are wrong. There are large numbers of people here who would cuddle an axe murderer. Who needs a cuddle more than somebody like that? Where is your humanity?

  • What it really should say, is "Any Gender Identity".

That is what it is attempting to convey, as it is under the Gender dropdown menu, alongside the only other options given, Men and Women.

Sarcasm aside, I actually know a Pro who has given cuddle therapy to known sex offenders, to specifically teach them how to approach touch in a safe and platonic way.

I have mixed feelings on it, and couldn't do it myself due to trauma, but I bet there are Pro's out there willing to join in the rehabilitation process of anyone.

  • @SunsetSnuggles I wasn't being sarcastic, it's completely true. The type of professional you mentioned is not the most common but in general terms they are not rare. There is little satisfaction to be had in helping people who barely need to be helped, and much to be found in being part of somebody's transformitive experience.

And I think you are right with your use of "anyone". "Anyone" is not the same as "Everyone".

  • @CuddleDuncan what you say is true. For me it feels frustrating sometimes to witness, but this variety of values and perceptions drives progress/creativity... maybe

  • "everyone except the people I don't like"

which is usually followed by something like

"He doesn't like you. I don't like you either! You just watch yourself! We're wanted men. I have the death sentence on twelve systems."

Oh, wait, sorry, my inner geek is coming to the surface again

  • And some wonder why a significant portion of this community avoids the forums...

  • “Everyone” would mean people that identify as a man, woman, or any of the genders listed in the “other” option that can be found when editing the “I’m a…” option on you profile. If you say you cuddle everyone, no one will be filtered out of your search results.

  • @Finnegan2017 , not everyone though

  • Ok, more serious response. I cut this quote from a profile which, to me, perfectly illustrates what I meant by "everyone except the people I don't like":

*** I only see COVID-conscious people who still mask and avoid exposure by limiting proximity to large crowds and > events. If this does not describe your lifestyle, we are not compatible! ***

One may or may not wish to cuddle axe murderers, and there's many profiles where it's expressly stated "I won't cuddle smokers"

    So, yeah, everyone isn't everybody

  • Everybody love everybody

  • When I checked. “Everyone”, I meant any gender as we are just meeting for a cuddle.
I do have my preference when meeting up.
There was one person under drinking put WAY to much, lol I would not want to cuddle that person. If a person looked like a twin to my 6th grade math teacher I would decline, lol. Since joining here I have learned to really be open minded to about anyone.
I have meet some terrific people here.

  • I guess my only exception would be anyone that isn't open to understanding boundaries ? I don't believe in letting there be blurred lines on what's okay and what isn't.

  • Maybe a reformed axe murderer?

  • I only see COVID-conscious people who still mask...

    Please block me.
    Like, right now.

That profile excerpt reminds me of one of my favorite quotes…

“It is time to realize that as long as you are living a fairy tale, you might as well be the king or queen who lives happily ever after instead of the peasant who is always suffering.” - Mateo Tabatabai

To each their own. I wish that person peace as they serve their life sentence in a self imposed prison.

This is the last paragraph in my profile…

NOTE: I am unvaccinated. This is NOT a political statement, it is simply a reflection of my own research and work experience (my signature is all over clinical trial submissions at the FDA - I have expertise in this area). If you only cuddle with people who are vaccinated, I 100% support your right to make that decision but we would not be a good fit for cuddling.

  • There are large numbers of people here who would cuddle an axe murderer.

    HA!😄

  • When I checked. “Everyone”, I meant any gender as we are just meeting for a cuddle.

    👍👍👍

That's exactly how I interpret "Everyone" here as far as Cuddle Comfort is concerned. 😁

  • I've taken it to mean all the people except the person who's making the comment. Sometimes it gets mixed up with "All "and that usually means everyone with different genitalia. But there is always a rare everyone and what comes after is something no one does so i get confused. I know everyone can read but i also know everyone will read it and comprehend something different.

@JohnR1972 Suppose that person is immuno-compromised, or has small children or aged parents who are? There may well be good reason for them to be so concerned about illness.

Everyone is a word found in the dictionary that everyone can read and everyone can use as a definitive term to use depending on the sentence structure everyone is using.
