If so, what triggers do you love?
I am! I really like the ear cleaning, facial, haircut, water globes, glue and spoons
@KittyPukka Water globes are so pleasant to listen to. I feel like there are some things that weren't even intended for ASMR purposes when they were invented, but work so well for it anyway, and that's one of them.
In general, no. I find a lot of it does the opposite for me. That said, I love dogs chewing crunchy things. And those fridge/cupboard restocks are always fun.
Is ASMR a fetish?
Those asmr videos drive me crazy. I do however get a kick out of post colonoscopy fart videos.
@CentralFLCuddle I’m the same way … something about organizing and putting stuff away is soothing to me … That and deep cleaning videos lol
@Morpheus I don’t think so. I suppose folks could add a fetish element to it (e.g. ASMR seggs videos on pornhub), but I think the point of ASMR is to scratch that itch in your brain that you didn’t know you had. Folks who are into it find it soothing. For me, it creates a brain itch and drives me nuts.
Qtips in the ear canal Barber's electric trimmer on the back of the neck Light touch almost anywhere Watching someone draw
@Morpheus nope, it's not a fetish. ASMR itself is an actual physical tingling sensation in the scalp that some people feel, which is triggered by subjective pleasant stimuli. While ASMR isn't a fetish, it does share a couple things with that realm of the human experience, such as the fact that it's not something everyone experiences and the people who are hardwired to experience it really enjoy it, and ASMR triggers are incredibly vast and subjective, and often what works for some people doesn't work for others.
Here is the mother of all ASMR videos. It has over 41M views. She has absolutely the most sublime voice for ASMR. Just enough triggers and gentle soothes...keep the volume low and she should make you very sleepy...lol. Enjoy.
Haircut at the barber shop.
I don't know, maybe. I can get caught up in those metal working videos if that counts
Yes into ASMR, find spots popping, blackhead removing videos more satisfying though.
My ex girlfriend showed me an ASMR channel wherein the woman would do commentary while tidying up shelves at Dollar Tree and such. It was oddly satisfying.
I love ASMR roleplay videos! Huge shoutout goes to YourGirlfriendASMR
I looked into ASMR after seeing it mentioned in someone’s profile. I’m mystified. Maybe I’ve seen to many horror movies because these ultra soothing videos keep me on edge. Just waiting for the criminal/monster/transdimensional horror to pop out and shank them. 🤷♂️
My imagination is definitely too active.
I've always been fascinated with ASMR roleplays, particularly doctor's appointments, friend chats, personal attention, hypnosis and meditation. Oddly enough, they've helped with my insomnia at times.
Among my favorite ASMRtists are:

I love ASMR, and have been listening to it for about ten years, at this point.
My favorite trigger is actually high pitched sound. Tuning forks, singing bowls, things like that.
These days, I tend to listen more for a friendly voice than anything, but I do find this heartbeat video very soothing and not ASMR-y.
Does not do anything for me.
ASMR massage is the best! 🌙
I don't have the brain itch that ASMR scratches, but I still find the videos soothing. They help quiet my overactive brain, so I can sleep. That said, I've been wondering if fingernail tapping considered ASMR? Because that is NOT soothing at all, quite the opposite.
I wasn't a fan of ASMR at first but I found some suuuuuper relaxing ones. Especially with the 8D audio. It felt like the person speaking was actually moving around me and the sounds coming from different angles was surreal. The rainy ones with light music are my favorite.
I like ASMR, but don't necessarily consider it calming. It's very hard to find any good ASMR. The easy to find stuff on YT is more 'virtual girlfriend' with ASMR tropes thrown in. Heather Feather was a good ASMR artist, and there were a couple of more 10 years ago or so that would do a variety of sounds. Sometimes there would be a 'narrative' but it was the sounds and how your body responded (shivers or tingles) that was important. I don't bother anymore because I don't want to wade through the pretenders that have simply gotten expensive binaural microphones.
