How early can you come for a cuddle session?

  • I was trained in early life and business that 15 min early is on time, 5 min early is late. It was all about respect for the other persons time and that being late was unacceptable. It showed lack of planning and foresight.

But that attitude doesn’t work at all times and with all people! 😀

I’m still new to this and showed up 5 min early to one of my first cuddles irritated at myself for being late only to find out she was flustered because I was early. We got over it and laughed it off but now I just keep the line of communication open so there’s no surprises. Seems to work much better.

I think what everyone has done here is underscore the need to communicate.

  • I totally misunderstood the question and was going to say that for anything before 8 or 9 am then you should just plan on staying over the night before.

  • Why wouldn’t you arrange your plans to arrive at the agreed time instead of making your Cuddler rush or wait? Seems like the considerate thing to do.

I do the same as black fridays in the early 2000's. Lawn chair, snacks, comfy blanket and at least 12hrs ahead of time!
Im so motivated, excited and focused.

But then again I usually host lol

  • @msessions777 I love a morning cuddle session! Saturday at 8am with some coffee, pastries, classic cartoons, cozy cuddles. Yess!

I’m with @Auroradream morning cuddle sounds great but coffee breath is no-go for me! That’s a hygiene failure. 😀

I don't know why you are asking anonamous pros this question. The only opinion that counts is the opinion of the person you are scheduling to cuddling with. You probably should ask them.

  • L O L, early-morning cuddles, that’s a no-go for me after some, (not very surprising) unfortunate experiences. In fact, I had a few say they wanted to come very early and specifically wanted early morning. That was a red flag to me
Maybe OK for other trusted people though.

  • @gem7 yes! This is exactly what I was thinking. A pro I used to see would offer a 10 minute early arrival to change into comfortable clothes and get a cup of tea. But some prefer you arrive at the door on time.

Ask. Communicate what you want and if it’s not available then move on.

  • I'm same as @lovingspoonfull - I'll plan to be early to an appointment in case of bad traffic, BUT that doesn't mean I'll ring the doorbell early. I'll park at a strip mall nearby, set a timer on my phone, then read a book or eat a snack or just relax until the alarm goes off close to the agreed appointment time. I'll be walking up to the door just a minute or two early.

  • I would suggest arriving slightly early just to account for the time it takes you to get from your transportation to the location where you are meeting, and texting within 5 mins of the start time to let them know you are there. Don’t try to meet early though and the host may still be getting ready and/or preparing their space. The time the session starts should begin once you start cuddling.

  • For me right on time. But I also believe as long as we communicate we can prepare sooner .. if I know you’re traveling from far maybe and you arrive @1:45 for a 2pm… as long as I’m available we can start our cuddle .

For most things, not just cuddling, I usually try to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early just in case I get hung up in traffic or whatever, then I wait and show up at the time we agreed upon.

Given I live in the Bay area, I get hung up in traffic a lot so leaving early often gets me there right on time, lol.

  • I have never had anyone show up more than 5 minutes early and i'm happy about that. I'm generally rushing to get myself and my cuddle room ready before their arrival

I’m not really sure why there’s so much discussion on this. An appointment time is an appointment time. It’s always best to leave early to avoid traffic or delays and text the person an update when you need to and let them know when you arrive. Seems pretty simple.

Most important for me, because with the exception of two times every other cuddle I’ve had here. I have been the host but if you’re running late, you’re gonna know well in advance that you’re running late. If you’re supposed to be at someone’s house at 8 o’clock don’t text them at 8:05 saying that you’re gonna be 15 minutes late. I for one do a tremendous amount of preparation and usually I’m rushing so I’ll always appreciate if someone lets me know well in advance. It’s just common manners.

  • Please don’t arrive early. I am right on time and ask for the same

  • Id assume you'd respect people's time. I also think you should keep in mind that while we label people pros, it even applies to enthusiasts, this is a service provided in private personal settings and homes.

While being early is a good practice in some cases that doesn't allow for access beyond what is scheduled. Therefore, i believe being prepared and ready at the agreed upon time is appropriate. I personally would be there outside the home or space some minutes early and let the provider/ cuddler know I'm present. If they are able to let me in to that space great if not I'd expect to be allowed in at the agreed upon time.

With that said I'd expect the same, for them to be prepared to begin on time. If there is Flex Time in the provider/ enthusiast schedule great, if not i wouldn't expect it. I likely wouldn't be planning in much flexibility at the end but if it works out great. I believe asking more would be asking too much. I think it's just consideration and respect for a persons time.

Money is a small factor in this in my mind, and if it doesn't work in a manner i feel works in the agreed upon time frame I'd just not repeat. I think ins some professional services when an hour is scheduled it means 45 minutes of service, especially the ones that are good at what they do. I don't think therapists give you more time, i don't think physical therapist or trainers Or masseuses or dentists or doctors or lawyers or daycares are expected to work out side of scheduled times, so why would these types of services? It would be appreciated and possibly reflected in tips or repeat service.

Now recovery time, decompression time or things of that nature may be factors but I'm not sure. It would suck to be rushed out because there is another appointment coming in hot after but i doubt cuddles book that tight, I'd be surprised if they do and again it be factors in possible tips or returns.

I could be wrong I'm open to that, but when i welcome someone in to my home for a period of time and for a purpose i expect for them to get to getting so i can get in with my day.

Also this type of arrangement could be so good id not want it to end, but id be prepared to pay more and if im not I'd be ready to get to up and out so money isn't a factor.

I've had some gracious cuddles that also didn't want to end it so fast and i appreciate that, again tips and return visits.

  • As an enthusiast, I do what I do with my other friends: add "ish" to the time and communicate.
"I'll be there about 12ish, but will message you when I get in the area" is polite and works well.

  • If driving to the cuddler's location, I always give myself wayyyyy too much time to get there. But if I'm 10-15 minutes early, I just find a quiet, out of the way place to wait. If I'm coming to their place in a rideshare or via public transit, the timing isn't totally in my control and I can't just sit in the car. In those cases, I'll let her know my ETA when I leave my origin.

If hosting someone at my home or a hotel, I'm always ready and prepared ~10 minutes early just in case.
