What's some of your favorite boardgames, card games, and tabletop games to play?

I'm so excited! Bowling Green Kentucky is having their second annual boardgame convention called Tabletoppers this Friday and Saturday 9/27-28.
37 hours of gaming over 2 days, a game library with over 200+ games, giveaways, and play to win games.

Has anyone ever played any of these games (see photo of play to win games) and can recommend which ones would be fun to play (and not heavy)?

    Some games that I have been playing lately are Catan, Dimension (I am a 2 year state Champion), Wizard Always Wins, Potion Explosion, Flamecraft, Megaland, Skull King, Silver, boop., and Studies in Sorcery.

    The photo above is games they are going to have in the play to win section. I've never played any of these.

    I’ve mostly played old classics or card games. Just recently I played Munchkin for the first time.
    One of my old card game basics is Mille Bourns or the table top game stop thief.

    @GuyverGordon I've never heard of Doomlings but I like the name. lol. I wonder if they will have a copy there.

    @Bear Munchkin can be pretty fun. I have a Rick and Morty version of it as well as a boardgame version called Munchkin Quest.
    I don't think I have heard of those other games though.

    @LadyVel It is pretty fun... especially after the first time playing when you figure out the flow.

    I've always wanted to try Munchkin

    Yes! Once you figure out the flow / rules for most games, they get so much better!
    I've enjoyed Munchkin but I haven't played it a lot. There are so many versions of it now though!

    Also here is a portion of my games I have. I need a few more shelves 😅

    I have a similar shelf ... at least a third or a half the games are the same as mine :) ... and not to get off subject, but I spy with my little eye a cat tree; would it be safe to say you are a cat person? (I have 4)

    Mille Barnes is a really old card game from like 1954. I think originally it was French. I used to play it in grammar school and it’s kind of a comfort game. I guess you could say. Thief was a board game from 1979 that had a handheld electronic device that gave clues. the closest thing we had a computer game, lol.

    I also remember we had electronic battleship and I used to like playing that a lot.

    @GuyverGordon Ah, some similar tastes then. I wonder how the rest of my collection lines up. lol.

    I do have a cat! She is 16 years old this year. I also have exotic pets too. During D&D she used to try to get into our seats and roll the dice when we got up to go get drinks. lol.

    @LadyVel It's a bit of hike for you, but Columbus has a group (Columbus Area Boardgame Society) that does an annual weekend of board games, if you're so inclined to travel that far.

    @GuyverGordon haha. She was definitely interested in use rolling the dice. I've seen people incorporate their cats into games before. Had we continued playing, we probably would have.

    @Vocalist100 That is a little far for me to drive alone but thanks for the info!

    Speaking of which, There won't be cuddles there but If anyone in and/or around the area wants to come out and play, it is open to the public for a small entrance fee that covers both days!

    I’ve been playing a game called Telestrations with friends lately. It’s kind of hilarious! Have also played a game with them called “Tellme without telling me.”

    There’s a singing game called Hummmble that is super fun but you have to like singing to enjoy it. I love it! But can’t always find people to play it with me.

    I’m currently taking Bridge lessons. 17-3 hour lessons to play this card game lol. I like it a lot but man…what a commitment!!

    @VitaminJ Telestrations it's a great party game and the outcomes are so random sometimes!
    I have not played the others before but they sound fun but I can see how it would be hard sometimes to find people to play.
    Wow! That is a commitment! I was looking an apparently the basics can be grasped in a few sessions but it takes a year to become good at it?! wow.

    @LadyVel yes we play the clean version of Telestrations and still somehow all of our clues end up NSFW! Lol

    And I took bridge lessons 30 years ago and this is a well designed course with lots of hands on play but man oh man I possibly should have waited till retirement but I guess I’m committed now!
