Chain letters a Archaic ERA

What ever happened to chain letters than goodness they died down I remember theynwwre rampant on fb

Send this to x amount of people and you be blessed the very next day! and if you didnt you something bad will happen etc

Eventually people realized the emptiness behind it I suppose.

I would say tell.me the craziest chain letter you saw but the whole thing so far dead not even worth it lol

  • The new "chain letters" are ridiculous internet extortion/threats emails payable by Bitcoin. I just ripped the mayor on the local FB group for promoting the fear-mongering drama queens crying that they're being stalked and terrorized FROM ONE EMAIL. It gained traction in less than an hour in the FB group when people started claiming white vans were talking photos of houses and children. It's a KNOWN scam and when I linked to multiple news stories debunking it, I became public enemy #1 because I am "trivializing" their fear. "They have PICTURES OF MY HOME." Yes, you dummy, they're from Google street view. Stupidity is infinite.

Last time got a physical chain letter in the regular mail was 1999. It wasn’t just a letter. This one was a large flat 9 x 12 envelope had all this information and “proof” that it was both a positive experience for those who did complete the requirements of the letter and warnings of bad things that could happen if I didn’t do it. There were even photos of the good and bad things and the people it was supposed to have happened to. All that info was in the form of a badly constructed and very large zine. It looked like it was photocopied a million times. It also included all 20 copies of the original letter and envelopes! They made it easy. I didn’t send it on. I threw it away. But now I wished I had kept it. It’s an artifact of a time that we were bothered by strangers through the regular mail.

I don't even get emailed chain letters anymore.

Edit: Oh and I don’t think people realized they were empty. There are now so many other places to put empty hope because of groups people can find online that chain letters aren’t necessary anymore.

They're actually still hanging on by a thread...I've seen YouTube comments in that form. "Copy this comment and post it on five other videos" or else doom and gloom. 🙄😆

I used to hate it when I didn't forward those chain letters and died the next day.

  • @gem7 that’s so inconvenient. I hate it when that happens
