In the future, before making false accusations, go to the real website and search free Covid tests and you will find that it is legit. It is what I did before ordering the kits.
Back on topic—seriously, thank you @Bear. Reminders are always good amid the hustle and bustle of life. And as one who takes over 100 flights a year, there has been an uptick in empty seats from people canceling due to illnesses from the usual—flu, covid and RSV.
On the test front I was told by my doc that OTC test kits which test for both Covid and flu at the same time will be out later this fall.
I did. I could not verify. I said proceed with caution. I investigated further and said it's legit.
I'm done.
I am on board with that. I love seeing self improvement.
The site url literally points to usps.com. that's a method used to check if the site is legitimate.
For those that want to verify, type Covid into the search bar as I did. The link I posted comes up as first choice.

"Free" is a misnomer. The government doesn't do anything for free.
Taxpayer-subsidized Covid Home Tests is a more accurate title.
Don’t forget the flu shot and the pneumonia shot. Sometimes it seems as if some people think Covid is the only health danger nowadays.
@TxTom - Not sure why people think a comment like that is necessary. Free meaning you can order them without paying anything out of pocket. Everybody pays taxes.

I found clarification of the use of the word "free" necessary. It's an oft overlooked fact when dicussing government freebies.
Simply pointing out that fact shouldn't bother you or anyone else.
I paid over five figures worth of income tax last year and I am glad that I can help make this life saving program for getting Covid tests to every person who wants one possible.

Many folks don't realize that they can make donations to the US Treasury, beyond what taxes they owe. The IRS does not forbid this.
I understanf that "free" in this case isn't "free" but it is a good use of our tax dollars IMO.

I agree, I hate it when someone starts a post that says, “Happy Independence Day” and the usual suspects defecate all over the thread with politically tinged rants about colonialism, imperialism, etc.
FWIW - I agree with TxTom about the definition of “free” whether it is public schools offering “free” textbooks, government run healthcare offering “free” services, etc. TxTom did not say it was a bad idea or that he opposed it, he just clarified that the word “free” is not accurate. The product is “free” to the person requesting it but it was not truly “free” because other people paid for it.
Does that matter? I would suggest that it does because words matter - they influence how people think about things. “Those who control the language control the culture.”
