Share your musings and whimsical questions on this thread. I will start.
Do you think the Number Two pencil was invented on the toilet?
Why are there single random shoes on the road? How did they get there, and isn't someone missing it?
Why do you park on a driveway and drive on a parkway?
Why don't they make the whole plane out of that black box stuff.
Imagine a world with no hypothetical situations.
Why is it that the bigger your bed room is the smaller your bedroom is?
@jimmylee no stealing Steven Wright material.
Why do drive-up ATM's have braille on the keyboard?
@TheFunCartel I don't think anyone here (myself included) is being original, but I personally am fine with it being a "post your favorite one-liners" thread.
@IronLemon Mine was a thought that popped in my head. I think people’s original thoughts are more interesting than derivative thoughts. So I hope most are original.
@TheFunCartel I'm pretty sure that precedes Steven Wright.
I'm pretty sure that precedes Steven Wright.
You are correct—it was George Carlin.
I've written and published a book with such musings. Perhaps I will quite myself. I did not realize I was violating some sacred trust with my contribution above.
@TheFunCartel Exactly. That old line isn't dry and droll enough to be Wright worthy.
My mother would warn us " If you fall out of that tree and break your leg, don't come running to me".
I did not realize I was violating some sacred trust with my contribution above
Wow. No need to escalate. I was just saying I was interested in original thoughts. No one was attacking you.
@gem7 👍 Mother logic is the best!
Because most cars have blind spot monitoring now?
@TheFunCartel I did not feel attack. I thought by using a phrase like "sacred trust" on a post that is likely to be filled with ditties, it would be obvious I was using a bit of exaggeration. I guess you (me) need to know your audience. My bad.
@jimmylee It came across as sarcasm. No problem
Is Sean Combs the new Jeffrey Epstein?
Are all the cell block cameras working?
If you're going to stir the s__t pot you will have to lick the spoon.
If there were a thread about trains, how quickly would it get derailed?
"I See" said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.
@gem7 You pre-stole that from me. (Posted it before I could)
I was literally thinking of that earlier today, but I also think it would be better posted in a puns thread.
That's something to think about. Why do people find puns painful?
@IronLemon I didn't mean to steal your thunder. I was browsing another thread where one of the posters was blind and this old one came to mind. I think its a physchological thing in us that causes us to groan in pain when we hear a pun. It seems like most of them don't really bring about laughter but more of a "duh" factor.
No male human is an area of land surrounded by water.
@gem7 "Able was I ere I saw Elba."
If firefighters fight fire, and crimefighters fight crime, what do freedom fighters fight?
Ah yes, that Napolean guy.
Why do our ducks have to be in a row and why is the monkey on our back in the first place.
