  • Definitely not. This is a very personal thing for me that is incredibly therapeutic. It would only serve to open complicated conversations that I prefer to keep private.

I wasn’t familiar with Gladwell but now I’m interested, where should I begin? I normally read fiction/literature so this will be a change.
I see a lot available in Spotify so recommendations and which order appreciated.

Tipping point , start at the beginning

I'm not sure what would be on Spotify except his podcast revisionist history, I'd start at the beginning of those as well

  • There’s a long list of his audiobooks and podcasts available on Spotify.

  • Generally no, I don’t mention it, but it depends on the person. I have brought it up to those few I know have open minds and can understand and support this kind of thing.

  • It's still too often related to sex in most of society. I have a few friends who know because I tell them when and where I'm meeting up with someone EVERY time.

  • @g_w_t_w all of his books are excellent and well thought out. But the podcasts are quick doses of the same.

  • @BashfulLoner @g_w_t_w
When I was in school getting my master's in social work Tipping Point was required text, very good book and author for sure

  • @achetocuddle i think it is at a tipping point because there are so many cities I visit where it is commonplace and also communities within my own locale where it is understood (like my yoga community or the healing arts community) and it’s just sort of popping up on the news or the Daily Show or YouTube… it just seems to be becoming more ubiquitous (but that could also be confirmation bias))

  • I generally keep such things to myself as even vaguely bringing up the subject gets the stereotypical responses "That's weird." "I'm sure that's all they do." Etc etc.

  • @KariMeiSnuggles as a dad and a cuddle enthusiast, I love that your kids have embraced it and support you in it.
You are raising some wonderful human beings.

  • @VitaminJ Sounds good to me; I hope it's at a tipping point.

  • Just signed up for this site. I saw some of the messages here and can related. Married but Wife has a chronic medical condition that has resulted in her being bed bound and not able to hug, cuddle or even engage in meaningful conversation. Our marriage has turned more into just a caregiving relation and lately at my kids urging that I need to get out of the house. She has been sick for so long and with frontal dementia that our couple friends left a long time ago so feeling a little isolated. I have started hiking, biking and other outdoor activities - its so difficult to find people with like situations so perhaps this might be a good experience until I can make some new connections. And yes photo is private for reasons that people stated. But hello everyone!

    @stardustambers Welcome to CC

  • If I were married, I would not be available to cuddle here. Based on my past relationships which never lacked physical contact, I never felt unwanted, I was probably the one saying " that's enough".

  • @VitaminJ
Thank you for mentioning Gladwell’s new book. I loved Blink, Tipping Point, Outliers, and David and Goliath. For some reason, the algorithm hasn’t recommended his more recent books to me so I have missed the last couple but I just now ordered Revenge of the Tipping Point. 😊

  • Hi everyone,
Still very new to cuddling with folks. I am married and my wife no longer wants any physical contact of any kind. I do not want to sexually cheat on her but I do need cuddle time so have been reaching out to others. But to answer your question, NO, I tell no one.
