My favorite is black screen. TV totally off for my cuddles. All my attention goes to her.

Why? Because it's a movie focused on two people who want to be closer to each other than humanely possible. Yes, it's infamously sexual but the cinematography puts the viewer in the scene - you feel surrounded by their passion for each other and inspired by their vulnerability. You will squeeze whomever you're holding close while watching this film, guaranteed.
I'd say The Reader was like this as well but I never watched it fully.
Tombstone was my most recent and was a perfect match. One of my favorite movies and a stellar cast.
Have never cuddled with tv as guest or host. The focus is usually on our conversation and the intamacy
I haven't ever had the TV on when hosting. All about talking and connecting.. I think music would be better.
It totally depends the company and the dynamic between. If it is an old special friend separated due to life reasons.... Something like sleepless in Seattle. If it is a kink partner then something like the secretary... Sometimes with a romantic interest even a frightening movie is enjoyable (personal experience from long past)
