TV shows

What shows is everyone watching, I'm looking for a few new series to add to my list.

Shows that I'm currently watching:
King of Tulsa - Amazon
High Potential - Hulu
From - Amazon MGM+
Brilliant Minds - Hulu
Tokyo Diner - Netflix
3 Body Problem - Hulu

I tend to watch episodes as they air or if the whole season is out I only watch an episode every few days so that the series will last longer and I don't get bored of the show. I like a lot of different types of shows, any anime suggestions would be appreciated as well, but I tend to like medical dramas and criminal shows that are violent and dark like "mayor of kingstown" or "Sons of Anarchy".

  • If you are open to a space drama set in the past, I have a suggestion.

Like you, I usually only watch one episode at a time. However, I could not stop myself from binge-watching the first two seasons of For All Mankind on Apple TV+. There are now four seasons out with a 5th season being worked on. Also, a spinoff show is being worked on as well.

Special Ops: Lioness. - Recently watched and Season 2 is about to drop. - Amazon Prime.

Thank you for the suggestion, I saw that on Amazon, and it did look interesting, I will check it out!! I think about 6 months ago I watched the first season of "Condor" on Amazon and really enjoyed it!

  • I want to finish 'this is us', I recommend that if you like dramas.

    • Agatha All Along (also my daughter's favorite)
    • High Potential
    • Matlock
    • Only Murders in the Building
    • In Tandem (French show)
    • Murder In ... (French show)
    • The Art of Crime (French show)
    • Blood on the Vine (French show)
    • Suspects
    • Macdonald and Dodds
    • Deadly Tropics

I subscribed to MHz Choice earlier this year, which was a great decision. Loads of great French and German mystery shows. Murder In ... is an anthology series and a little uneven, and a little predictable (the male and female detectives always end up in love at the end). but the scenery is gorgeous. Blood on the Vine is pretty good, you learn a lot about winemaking.

Thank you, I'll check it out, I don't know much about that one, though I think I've seen a picture of it.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I've never heard of MHz Choice, looks interesting I'll look into it!!

  • For spy movies I haven't seen it, but I heard ghost stories on Apple TV is very good. If you like Tulsa King try the mayor of Kingstown. Same channel. A good one that I really got into was how to get away with murder. I believe that's on Netflix. I've always gotten into NCIS. They just started up with a new origin of the series.

  • I just finished watching Silo, it was awesome. I hate when seasons come to an end

  • @jmdank you are welcome. Like to hear your thoughts if and when you get around to it.

@WriterGF, I'm trying to reduce to amount of crime related shows, documentary I consume , however I'm intrigued by your list!

  • Dunno if you've watched Death Note or Invincible. Both great animated shows that are violent and dark and in some sense crime shows

Not sure how accessible British TV shows are in the US, but some of my favourite crime shows (not necessarily dark though I guess):

    Unforgotten
    Broadchurch (season 1 at least)
    Luther
    Line Of Duty

As for Anime, Black Lagoon might be worth a try

Thank you for the recommendation, I read the death note manga and loved it, I'm not even big into manga usually but at the time when the manga was coming out the anime wasn't available and it sounded like a very interesting story, after reading the manga I saw one episode of the anime and didn't like it, the manga was so much better, it's like reading a book and then watching the movie, the book is always better, I'll check out invincible!
