Is anyone addicted to McDs or just me?

  • Any filet-o-fish enjoyers in chat, or am I the only one? 😅

I like McDonald's food, but I don’t eat it very often because working on myself so I can keep playing sports as I get older is a life project for me. 🙂

It does make for a lovely, occasional indulgence, and for me is also a flavor of childhood.

I'm typing this at the Denver airport on my way to Maine. I had a caesar salad for lunch; didn't notice until now that I haven't seen McDonald's in airports in recent years.

p.s. Hi @sillysassy; omg ... I can feel your positive vibes all the way put to where I'm standing in the tunnel waiting to get on my plane out of Denver. I really hope I get to meet you someday!

@billiam and @JohnR1972 beat me to the punch on that sugar/fat/salt elixir aspect and that video was very informative as well.

I know we’re not supposed to talk politics here but this is not a divisive statement. If Trump gets elected I hope he hires Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be the food czar. He has a passion for cleaning up “big food” industry and FDA corruption and things like that.

I generally try to eat and live pretty healthy- organic everything, non gmo, no aspartame, grass fed salmon (testing ya), aluminum free deodorant etc etc. But… I must confess one of my guilty pleasures is that I DO love McDonalds. Love the #1 combo Big Mac fries and a Diet Coke! (Gotta dig the irony of a Diet Coke too)…. Don’t forget the cookie followed by the immediate guilt!

  • I Have not eaten at Mc DONALDS SINCE i had a stroke over 2 years ago Sin ce stopped eating fast food I feel heathier and better about myself !

  • I haven't stepped foot in a Mc D's in at least 10 years. All that fat, grease, sodium , and sugar is disgusting, IMHO.

  • @zalea I like the filet-o-fish too, but it has to be fresh. A few times the fish patty has been hard, and ruined it. But I'm still hopeful when I get it that it will be good.

I'd say youre actually addicted to the human meat proven over and over to be in their burgers. Where do you think they get rid of traficked kids and adults?
    Cuddles! <3

  • I would rather open a can of tuna at home.

  • @zalea Filet o fish was a childhood favorite loaded with fries and extra sauce.

Then I discovered Dos Coyotes Salmon 🍣 Burrito 🌯.
If anyone wants a copycat DCSB recipe.

Message me & ask for it but please exchange a fast food remake recipe in kind.

    Thank you ☺️

  • I do food delivery for Grubhub on the weekends and sometimes people order from McDonald's. I don't want that shit in my car. It smells nasty.

  • @zalea i love that sandwich.

Every once in a while, I get a craving for fried fish and that's where I'll go. Otherwise I don't eat their sandwiches anymore. The last time I did, I use their app and they charge me $.49 for mayo because the sandwich didn't come with it.

I would say that McDonald’s has the best rewards app in the business and has some of the best value. Whenever I’m out and about running errands, McDonald’s is my first go to.
At my local McDonald’s I can get two Mc doubles for four dollars and if it’s Friday, I get free fries in the app so my total with taxes is $4.40 for two Mc doubles and a large fries you can’t beat that

  • For the longest time the only option to eat while on the road were the greasy spoons. While not the healthiest food McDs were a convenient option for anyone stuck traveling on the road.I prefer to bring my own food when traveling.

I was addicted to the collectible glasses they used to offer.

  • I wouldn't eat at McDonalds if you paid me. I have lived in the US for 43 years and I have never been inside one of their restaurants. Nothing you can get there will do you any good. It's the American diet at its worst, and that is saying something.

The "No" option is missing the letters "N" and "O", and instead has the letters "Y", "E", and "S"... I can't submit answer, please send help :(

  • Grow up, McDonalds is garbage. Once in a while is OK, but addicted? Come on bro

  • My son works there 😅 so I get a 30% discount, I eat there more often than I'd like to admit

  • @CO_exe Reminded
    me of

@WestsideMarc I get it on the Diet Coke point. Moderating sugar intake makes a difference in feeling better even if you are indulging in greasy savory junk food.

Answering the original question, McDs is my least favorite fast food place overall, although they do some things well... Breakfast sandwiches, fries, Shamrock shake, they offered a good chicken sandwich when the whole Chick Fil A versus Popeyes viral controversy was going on and then discontinued it.

  • Not addicted but the fries taste and smell the best. Big Macs are great, need it once in awhile.

  • Just assume the 2nd yes operates as a "no". That's what I did, lol.

For the longest time, aside from breakfast, I thought of McDonals as kids food. I’ve had it a few times recently and they’ve really upped their game, the food is pretty decent now. That being said, I’m definitely not addicted and don’t crave it.

  • @achetocuddle and @CO_exe i assumed the poll was yes and “hell yes” so I abstained. 😇

  • @lovingspoonfull LMAO! That was an astute assumption. Wish I had thought of that, lol.

  • I’m addicted to their ice coffee. I found a hack using their app and I only pay $1.99 for a Large iced coffee with an added shot of espresso plus Carmel and chocolate syrup. It’s like a turtle mocha but with coffee and cream instead of frothed milk 🥤

  • Sadly several people got sick eating at Mickey D's lately. One died. They traced it to the slivered onions. McDonalds is not gonna use onions anymore. Now their food will taste even worse but I agree with their decision.

  • @chetocuddle, shocking! I didn’t even know what slivered onions are. Sounds like the onion wasn't washed properly. So sad it led to someone dying, heart goes out to their loved ones.

  • Yes 4cuddles, I agree the onions weren't clean. Or the person who cut the onions into slivers did not wash their hands, etc. And once something is cut into small pieces there is more surface area that can get dirty, harbor bacteria, etc.
People not washing their hands is a big peeve of mine.
