@MajesticMango thank you for that … haven’t felt that way in a while though. But I am doing aqua therapy which is at least something for the moment
Have you checked in today?
@MajesticMango Killing it girl! Good work.
Happy to see you're all getting back to it! I used to lift a lot but around 2019 I stopped and put on more weight than I was comfortable with. Got fed up this year, water fasted for 6 months and dropped every ounce of fat on me along with whatever muscle remained. Been rebuilding for the past few months and thankfully it's all coming back!
Thank you for making this post! I love to hear how others are doing. I’ve been really consistent with weight training, minimum 3 times a week. I’m progressively overloading and man I feel a difference in energy levels and my body feels so strong 💪
@faro im interested in hearing about the water fasting. I know it wasn’t easy, have you did it before? What helped you the most staying committed to it?
@MissPamelaV dont tell anyone but, I’m still patiently waiting to see some before and after pics 😂😅
WHOS GOING TO THE GYM TODAY? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHEN YOU GET THERE? WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO EAT AFTERWARDS!
Today was day one of the rest of my life started my gym journey again and I’m super excited to anyone reading this don’t be too hard on yourself it’s okay to start over as many times as you need to!
@sage91436 im rooting for you 🖤🖤
I’m so excited for you @Cozy_Soul 😭💙 I can’t wait to see where this journey takes you!
Today’s check in
One hour of yoga and invited a new friend!
I loved going to the gym before and after shift! When they closed the gym due to some Covid policy I said, that’s not going to stop me…so I took my weight vest before and after work going up and down the stairs, doing my decline pushups on the rooftop of the facility, pull-ups on the I-beam trusses - stuff like that. My coworkers didn't know I was doing that, I would hide cinder bricks that I would use to workout with also so some maintenance guys wouldn't move them lol. I have home gym stuff, not as good quality as commercial places. After I left the healthcare field completely, I began to be less enthusiastic about life I guess and worked out much less considering since early 2022 I’ve had some government jerks messing with me nearly every day since then. That caused me a lot of depression, like a lot. I’ve been needing some motivation to work out more like I used to; back when my self-esteem and confidence was like way high…so I kind-of like this thread.

@Mela_B GAWHDAMN GIRL! You’re freakin killing it ! I want to be like you when I grow up 🌟
Here’s something fun in honor of Election Day
Also want to say that today I needed to find my one rep max to adjust my workouts by percentage and after not being in the gym for 8-9 months, I was surprised and pleased that I managed to squat 200lbs :,)
Wow, congratulations on hitting that 200lbs squat! That’s seriously impressive, especially after being out of the gym for so long! I know how motivating it feels to see those results after time away—what a strong comeback!
I recently started my own fitness journey and am down almost 20 lbs by mixing different workouts and aiming for 10k+ steps a day. It’s such a blessing to be able to move and push myself, and I don’t take it for granted for a second. Threads like these are so inspiring; thank you for starting this one! Can’t wait to see where we all go from here! @MajesticMango
@Jasminecuddles what sort of things do you do to make your 10k steps a day? I use to be a cocktail server so I easily knocked out those steps that way.
I've struggled with my weight all of my adult life. A distance runner in high school, I went from a lean 135 entering college to a tubby 230 graduating college. My standard "not paying attention" weight has been 280. I have twice before dropped weight. Once to 220, once to 170. Both times I got back to my running roots. Last time I twisted my ankle a couple days before a marathon, but ten out anyways. Had to have surgery because of that and haven't been able to run since (10 years). In September I decided to try again, without the running. I used to be able to drop 3 lbs a week when I tried. This time, I am content as long as I drop something every week. I am not starving myself, not sticking to any particular diet, (other than cutting way back on sugary drinks and not eating as much in general) and not stressing if I can't make the gym every day. I'm trying to make this a life change I can live with. I'm down 15 lbs. in 10 weeks. I exercise about 3 times a week, changing it up between walking, lifting, biking, and swimming. Success in the past involved an exercise partner, but that has been hard to find. The occasional "good job" doesn't keep me motivated. A big struggle is being self employed. There is no "off the clock" so I have to get up stupid early to get exercise in. Fortunately, my job can be pretty physical at times, so that helps. My goal; down to 200 lbs from my starting weight of 280 by September 1 2025 (Going to Cancun.)
Thanks for starting this thread. I need some accountability from others trying to do this healthy living thing.
@MajesticMango thank youuuu 💜 💜 💜
My thoughts to myself: Sun might go down but you should still get your a*s up
I give you all a lot of credit. Keep up the great work! 😊 🤗🤗🤗
Pretty cool seeing all of this gym and physical culture activity. Keep going everyone, whatever you enjoy doing. I've found the most effective exercise plan is the one you like well enough to stick with over the long term and doesn't feel like an imposition as well as being within one's capabilities.
As for me, I have boxing class later this morning, which I do 2-3 days a week. I also do pro wrestling practice twice a week, and I lift some, enjoy hiking, the elliptical, and given that I'm over 60 now, I do a lot more mobility work than I used to do when I was younger since my goal is to stay being able to be a tag team wrestler into my 80s.
Be well all.
@HarleyGirlKate can you still fly or jump off the top rope? Do you have a favorite finisher?
