Curious about cancellations, but also annoyed

This is not really a rant post, but more of an observational one. And one where I would like the community’s thoughts and input.

What is it with people canceling without any communication. And then other people who insist they are interested but take no initiative. It feels like some cuddlers are just on here to troll…which is just…..lame…but also how do you have so much time on your hands yakno

So what are some reasons ya’ll would cancel without any communication?

    @theCuddleDrgn oh that sucks. I’m sorry that keeps happening. Personally, if I schedule with someone I feel a responsibility to communicate a reason why I need to cancel.

    1) A lot of people feel no obligation of any kind to folks they only know through the Internet.
    2) Some people are indeed trolls, others may just get cold feet and be ashamed to admit it.
    3) The only reason I could ever see cancelling anything without notice would be if there was a real crisis that just drove everything else out of my head.
    4) If you aren't already, maybe you should ask for deposits so at least you get something out of the booking.

    @WriterGF i like the idea of a deposit. I’m just guessing that it would cut down on random cancellations out of the blue because people would probably take the booking more seriously.

    @ShaneSchrute yeah, I charge deposits and screen. It's reduced a lot of trolls. I'm established on cc and I feel like a serious person wouldn't have a problem with them.

    @ShaneSchrute @Gracious @WriterGF I get so much shit for trying to have a deposit people (cuddlers) keep saying its a scam all the time. I think its silly because, someone would make more money seeing you for a session than they would trying to take a deposit and not see you.

    Today I had someone cancel on me with no communication. This was after I asked for a video call today….when I told them that what they did was disrespectful and that they are now blocked, their response was womp womp…..sounds like a troll…

    Awnn I'm so sorry about your experience @theCuddleDrgn. It might help to put a tldr at the top of your bio, explicitly stating your requirements. I did that and it's been helpful for me because every new friend is already aware of that and can't feign ignorance when you bring it up.

    I honestly hoped people would be more courteous when reaching out to Pros but here we are. I hope this helps.

    I experienced same thing but then changed to requiring deposit. It weeds out a lot of issues. I have no issues getting deposit from cuddlers who are serious and communicate well. 😊
