Does no one actually read profiles?!

I get a lot of inquiries from potential cuddlers, but I find no one seems to read my profile as I must explain everything that’s already right there in my profile to people messaging me. It’s a bit frustrating! The fact I don’t host, certain fees like travel, or same day etc. Or even that I don’t allow outfit requests or things like that…. Does anyone else see this issue? What’s with people not reading a profile before reaching out about scheduling cuddles?? It just seems strange to me! And I end up wasting a lot of time chatting with people who won’t be a client as I don’t meet their needs or vice versa. If people just read my profile we’d save each other the time and effort.

  • Yes many people do read profiles, but of course not all. You’re operating from negative data meaning the people that do read it and aren't a good match don’t reach out. But yeah, I get the frustration.

I’ve seen two really good recommendations to your complaint in other threads: one, shorten up your profile. Less is more, meaning TL;DR is real. Distill it down to what’s key for you. second, the things that you really want people to see, put it into your photos, like a PowerPoint slide. Everybody looks at pics, many don’t read.

    Good luck!

  • Few will read it, none will memorize it. Most will just skim, some won't do anything but look at your price and pics. Some are just sending messages to everyone, because it's free.

It seems easy for you, because you wrote it, but they are reading multiple profiles and every one is different. You have your extra fees buried at the bottom in a paragraph. If they're important, they should be made to stand out, like your available dates: bullet points and at the top.

You have less than 10 seconds of their full attention. Organize and use it wisely.

  • Yes, keep the profile as short as possible. Most important info (to you) at the beginning. Try to avoid lengthy "user service agreement" type profiles that go on and on and on forever. (Unless you're only wanting to book avid readers.)

I've had two Pros that I know of, with whom I inquired about availability, booked a session, had a session (one was guest, one was host), and as far as I could tell, had never even looked at my profile. So it goes both ways.

  • Yeah my answer is often no. I just learned what TLDR meant, yep that's it. I do skim to see if there is something that catches my eye or turns me off and if something dies I'll read more thoroughly. But often what caused me to reach out to someone is a simple, superficial thing.

First thing i notice is location, if a person is close to me they will get a greeting from me. (I say person like i may see a man on my screen, i don't expect to so why doe i say person?) Next is picture, it's the first thing i see so a large impact on if a reach out. The criteria as to what about a picture informs my decision but it's not necessarily attractiveness. The profile name is something that usually perks my Intrest as well. I'm often attracted to what made someone use some term. Lastly is the wordy stuff. I will go back and read should i get a response but given the ratio of me givibg greetings to response is so low that i probably find better use of my time initially. So if i give greetings to 10people within a 50 mike radius id expect a response from less than 2. So unless something in the first 3 things i see really sparks my interest then i am not reading profiles for understanding right away.

But also if we begin exchanging, i will go back and read the profile first those details that mean everything. If for example someone said they don't host, I'll probably ask about that and discuss how to navigate that between us two. If after we have convo i notice i am out of age range i will question that to make sure thats a firm rule or suggestion. Initially i dont care if your single, have kids, what your favorite movie is or your religion.

When i first starting cuddling i had the same frustration! I worked around it in my own way, I’m sure you will find your rhythm!

  • @BreeTree I totally get how that can feel! But honestly, I try to remind myself that people might be nervous or just excited when they message. Sometimes they skim or forget details, and I don’t really mind clarifying things. And I think about myself lol I can actually read a profile and completely forget 🤷🏽‍♀️

I know my profile is super long, so I get why someone might miss something! Try to reply with something like, ‘Thanks for reaching out! My profile has all the details about hosting, fees, and scheduling. Give it a quick read, and I’m happy to answer any questions after!’

It keeps things easygoing and saves us both some time while still being kind. Plus, I figure if someone’s reaching out, it’s a good sign they’re interested, even if they didn’t quite catch everything at first!

Yes, I agree with you that it seems like no one reads profiles. The thing for me is the first line in my profile states that I do not pay to cuddle but yet most messages that I receive will start off would you like to schedule a session with me. Then the new thing that I get from a lot of people messaging me are would you like to schedule an online virtual cuddling session? These are obviously from people that are out of state. Most people that are on here being paid to cuddle, I feel are nothing but scammers. What exactly is a virtual cuddling session I don’t see how anybody can get any gratification from it.🤣

If I find somebody interesting because of a comment they make on forums or if I see a new person in my area I will just out of curiosity and not necessarily because I would want to meet them. However if it's a very long winded essay then I might only skim over parts of it, as is also the case with the forum posts. In my older years I'm more selective with what a use my eyes for because my vision is shit and I prefer to not have a headache from straining.

  • Nothing much more I can add but I agree with putting the most important bits at the top, and maybe adding points to the pictures. I've seen some very catchy slideshows with useful info that I personally liked.

For what it's worth, I actually read the whole thing

Yes I read profiles now in their entirety so that I can point out grammatical errors if I see any.

  • @pmvines what? You're not studying the novels out there and completing their tests?

  • @pmvines broh im like borderline legally blind, i feel you.

  • Haha yeah, I can barely get through my text messages without enlarging the print 400 percent . If there ever was a doubt that I'm an old man ...

I would skip over profiles with long descriptions. I don’t want to know your life story, I want to know the details of our session and that doesn’t have to be a long drawn out description. If they choose not to read your bio, I would choose not to respond to their message. Too easy

  • Thanks for all the input. I will try to shorten my profile. I had made it longer over time since I felt I was answering all the same questions with people and then seeing no session pan out and felt I was wasting time. So I put all of that info into the profile to help weed out ppl who just wanted to chat or weren’t going to be a match (I’ve been doing cuddling since July 2023. I’ve had probably 30+ sessions, tho many don’t write reviews)

I’m usually nice about inquiries and yes, answer with “thanks for reaching out” and explain things that are asked. But I will have to add the bit about “please read thru and I’m happy to answer any questions.” That’s a great way to not have to do a back and forth with all the info that’s already right there in my profile.

I think my main frustration is that people seem to think l’m not platonic. I’ve tried to make my profile as “professional “ as possible so that the idea it’s just for show is not perceived. I recently had to cut a session short when he tried to get sexual and was very confused when I got upset, left and reported him. And I told him it’s very clearly on my profile that I’m very strictly platonic idk how he misread that. And found out he didn’t read my profile at all….
This is a common theme I am finding lately and it’s concerning me. I’m considering not continuing as I don’t want this issue to keep being an issue, that was not the first and I worry it’s not gonna be the last. I worry for my safety.

  • I post a little about my interests and mostly poems.

People have lives. It's up to the provider to compete by going that extra mile. That may mean guiding people through the entire lengthy process. Ultimately your guests will appreciate it. Any interaction that is personal is value.

They are your valued guests, aren't they?

  • Yes I value my clients and their time as well. And those that are repeat clients also value me and my time. It’s mutual respect. But this is not my only line of work/income, and I can’t spend all day chatting back and forth with ppl just to see no work pan out.

@breetree I think your profile is quite clear and looks platonic to me. Maybe there are others that can coach along enhancing that specific message, but you’ve gotten some very good feedback on how to enhance clarity in general. I’d start there.

I’m sorry to hear about the advances, if you decide to stick with it I hope you find a safe and comfortable path forward.

  • Thank you. I’ve met a lot of good people on here and had some amazing cuddles and even made some friends along the way. I hope to quell my concerns and be able to continue with cuddling as I see a lot of benefits not only for those I cuddle but for myself too.

I appreciate all the ideas and input on how to proceed forward with a clear profile and how to better communicate that to potential clients.
I also appreciate pointing out that I’m working off negative data as those who actually read my profile and don’t match, don’t reach out.

  • Also new on these forums here and not sure how to tag people.

  • I do believe that it is important to read or at least understand what people put in there profiles. Although i usually just skim before i reach out, because it is more important to me the type of interaction i have with the person. I know for some professionals it's a lot about the transaction, but for me at least, the transaction is the least appealing thing. So i when i do begin interaction i do feel the need to understand what is in the profile specifically. I'd guess that for those guys that are here for something other than platonic, you spelling it out will not deter many of them. Simply because they don't believe you, they probably think it's something you put in there just to keep up appearances. I also suspect their experiences with others tells them exactly that.

Also I'd like you to keep in mind, especially nonpro cuddlers. The return on investment of researching profiles is low. You can read all the profiles but when you only get responses from a few you begin to look at the best use of your time in finding a match. I'm not sure if everyone else but the time spent looking and reading to not get a response does not encourage reading long profiles.

  • @BreeTree you just add the “at sign” then start typing the name. The system will pull up the handle.

And again wish you the best. 😀

  • Yep, I feel ya

  • @BreeTree My profile states REPEATEDLY that I am platonic only. It's read, but I still get pushback or playing dumb on it. So I report because if a person is that brazen on the site, they will only get worse behind closed doors.

  • One of my questions that I ask potential clients for vetting is

What stood out to you in my profile?

And oftentimes they will go back at that point and read. Or not…but their response to that question is often very indicative of their interest and intent, and willingness to show respect and effort.

  • For anywhere on the internet I recommend if you want something to be read it must fit on a phone screen. People do not notice and will not look at what is not directly in front of their face. Anything that needs you to swipe or scroll to be accessed is tertiary information.

Opening your profile on my phone via Chrome I can see your photo and your fee. Scrolling down (essentially the next page) I can see About Me down to just before it says your General Boundaries and I need to scroll again to get that far.

I recommend dumping the Update line. We know you're open for cuddling because you have an active profile. This is pointless information taking up valuable space at the top.

Travel Dates - Move this section to after we've heard your boundaries and about you. Think about in the same sense as your priorities. You have certain criteria and boundaries that must be met which you prioritize over time availability so make the profile reflect this.

"Read My Whole Profile" - This line can be dumped as well. It's taking up space and you already know it isn't doing anything.

After reorganizing your profile would look like...

    1. First 4 paragraphs
    2. Boundaries List
    3. Travel Dates
    4. Location notes on Tahoe
    5. Addons (same day and doubles)

This reorganization puts up front if someone fits your criteria. This is covered entirely before anyone has had to scroll or swipe. Then the profile moves to if the timing works. The final notes then at the end for only people who actually need it.

I always read every profile of people I interact with. But sadly; I think I’m in the minority.

  • @BreeTree
Most likely, the people that don’t read the profiles also probably don’t read these forums.

It’s not that your profile seems platonic or non-platonic. There are multiple discussions on here on how a lot of boundaries are pushed.

  • No they don’t and I had to shorten mine lol .. 😆

  • Reading is sooo 2004. So is thinking. Consideration? The 90s called and wants it back.
