Have you ever accidentally met someone you knew with CuddleComfort?

I met a Pro Cuddler, we cuddled together twice about 3 years ago, and had a really good time. Today I interviewed her for a position in my team (I didnt know her real name), it was a SUPER awkward interview for me from the moment she walked into the conference room. She was actually a good cabdidate for the position (Exec Assistant). At the end of interview, she said no hard feelings if she doesn't get the job, but said we should hang out soon. I told her that wouldn't be appropriate and thanked her for her time.

  • If she doesn't get the job, then why would it be inappropriate to meet her socially and talk?

  • I found a profile here for someone I work with. But she hadn't logged in for many months, so I didn't message her and never brought it up.

  • Not accidentally, however there is a CC Pro in my area that I've met on several occasions in a group setting maybe 10 years ago. Honestly I'd like to book them but don't want them to feel awkward in case they remember me. Not quite sure how to approach that one.

While I understand how this MIGHT cause some feelings of discomfort, I WOULD LOVE TO MEET A FELLOW CUDDLER!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!! Of course, we'd keep it under wraps while others were around, but WHEN I TELL YOU, I'd be scheduling an IMMEDIATE follow-up cuddle just to talk about it!!! lol

Awesome thread topic!! I've often wondered about this, myself!! Wooo!!!

  • I did book a session with a cuddler here and then, probably about a year later, saw her at the airport working for TSA.

  • I matched with someone on a dating app who then viewed my profile here. I don't know which he saw first but that was also awkward! Mostly because he decided to then make inappropriate jokes about either paying for non-platonic experiences or getting free cuddles because we matched on the app.

I didn't think this was a bad thing as I love cuddlers. But his behavior after making the connection was icky so I blocked him on CC to separate the professional and personal and then he unmatched me on the app. 😂

@AlyLauren ~ I'm sorry that happened to you. You, as we all do, have the right to keep different areas of your life separate-and-respected. Period. I'm glad, though, that you didn't let that experience run you off! :)

Can we say "dodged a bullet"??

@Shytraveler why not be direct? I mean if it's a pro cuddler you be direct if you did not know that person so i think you'll have to do so here. I get it might be uncomfortable but just ask if they remember and ask if they think it be something they are open to. Worst case is you don't get to cuddle.

@archston if she doesn't get the job why not? I do think her saying that there was inappropriate because it could be construed you didn't give her the job so you could date her. I answered my own question, you did the right thing.

I did match with someone on a dating app after speaking to her in here. She claim not to remember but ironically i sat down at her bar within a week of that interaction. She wasn't into any of it and don't believe she stayed on CC, she also stopped working that bar. I think she was just bored one night and playing on her phone.

  • @AlyLauren that seems like weird behavior. It may be an indication that his intentions were not pure in either case.

  • @archston

Never interview any candidate alone, especially if you have a history with them.

  • Things at work are too difficult already; would never date or even cuddle with anyone there. And would recuse myself (and have) when interviewing people with personal history. I think people need to know they got the job on their merits, not based on a relationship with me.

I make referrals and give references; but I do not allow myself a role in hiring for those people even if I really think they’d be a great hire.

As for social settings, absolutely no barriers for me if they’re a cuddler too.

  • @AlyLauren I also see many folks on dating apps and then see them on cc. Or connected with them on cc and then see them on dating apps.

  • I agree with @Homesteader , I think that would be cool. I wouldn't find anything awkward about running into @Nature_Lover_ at the grocery store.

My over-active imagination took over, the first time I read this, but I STILL feel like it would be a BLAST to meet a fellow cuddler in the wild... That said, I can definitely see, with the power imbalance and HR/hiring dynamics involved, that would TRULY have been an awkward situation.. I'm glad she let you know that there'd be no "hard feelings" either way. It may have been awkward for her, too.

Outside of such a situation as that, I'd enjoy meeting more cuddlers in person! :)

  • Yeah I don't have a problem with overlap, and I have close friends who also starting cuddling. Just disrespectful behavior from that guy regardless of where I met him. 😂

I don't know what I would do if I found myself in an interview, on either side of the table!

It wasn’t awkward until you made it awkward.

    Nope.

It wasn’t awkward until you made it awkward.

    @MonkeyNeedsAHug 👍👍👍

  • Sounds like she won't get the job because it was awkward for you. Which is a shame if she was otherwise a good fit

  • Did she have Pro Cuddler on her resume?

  • I didn't know before the interview that I've cuddled with her (or else I would have recused myself)

She didn't have Pro cuddler listed on her resume!

  • Yikes. You cuddled someone 3 whole years ago and that was enough for you to make the entire situation awkward and then claim it was "inappropriate" to see you outside of work if she didn't happen to get hired? Even though the nature of your interactions had exclusively been platonic?

Posts like this is why I don't cuddle in areas where I work. Some weird guy might simply not hire me years later because he's shocked and embarrassed that he gasp had a platonic vulnerable experience with me one time.

Would you treat a masseuse, therapist, or anyone else this way? Doubtful.

  • Agreed, @SleepySheep1

I've never understood the "taboo" attitude about cuddling. Yes, I've read all the reasons, usually from guys. But I still don't get it.

  • I can see the risk in not giving someone who says we can hangout if you don't hire me. Your honor i wanted the job he'd rather crawl into bed with me and hang out.

  • Nothing prevents an employment lawsuit that puts your livelihood and career in jeopardy better than recusing yourself from the situation.

  • Imagine what I'd tell HR or my manager, I'd like to recuse myself because I cuddled with someone 3 years ago? Masseuse is different, but cuddling is more intimate than that.

What would you tell the HR manager if it was them?

I wouldnt want to discuss with my HR manager of a cuddle, massage, pedicure, waiter or sales representative at Verizon.

  • "Hey, HR manager, I had a personal relationship with this person previously. Just to avoid any possible implication of impropriety, could you sit in with me on this one?"
Going forward, you should ALWAYS have 2 competent people conducting interviews together. HR should know to keep their mouth shut with privacy issues.
