I can use it with my phone's 4g/5g connections but the moment I connect to public WiFi, it tells me that I'm offline while the rest of the internet works normally.
I’ve had the same experience. It doesn’t work when connecting to others WiFi. But I was able to continually connect to this site even on a bus in Seoul because of my Korean Sim card.
@Gary @Mark
We block a lot of networks when we see people using them in order to circumvent bans. These are typically web servers, which VPNs services happen to use. I think there are some occasions where a public WiFi might use these web servers. Amazon cloud servers are one example. Almost all the traffic from their servers to here are bad actors abusing it but I think some public WiFi use it. Whether that means it's worthwhile unblocking is a different question, I would say probably not. But I can see if makes sense to include special conditions to the blocking rule. If you email me (my name @ this website), the error page or IP address, I'll check it out.
I'm at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and was trying to use their WiFi since my cell phone connection is spotty at spots.
@mark I especially loved being able to access the site while in S Korea. I was worried that i wouldn’t. But I was blocked while in Japan. I thought it was because I was using a Korean SIM card.
Interesting to know those scenarios, thanks. This type of website is more of a target than most so we are quite aggressive with our firewall. Each block is on a spectrum of protection/security vs inconvenience caused. We do try to minimise this and revisit as the landscape evolves but I think those examples would likely be considered acceptable sacrifices.
I would suggest that this info only be sent directly to @mark.
I’m sure the bad actors will come across this and read the information. Not sure if they can use it to their advantage but it reminds me of how media outlets will give the perfect way to find or make destructive devices. Essentially opening up a dangerous rabbit hole.
@Bear Mark has his account muted (so messaging him is blocked), tagging him is the remaining option.
@starrynitecuds
Didn’t I tag him ?
@starrynitecuds - I think it's letting me message him. I didn't actually try to send a message but when I click on his profile and click "Send Message", it lets me to the 'send new message' input field.
@stormydaycuddle Duh, I understand what you’re telling me now.
@Mike403 then you've had a previous conversation with him. Anyone who hasn't (like me) will get the MUTED message.
@starrynitecuds - There's also the "contact us" option on the home page which also serves to send a message to him.
I tried to log in from a strip club and was denied due to attempting to connect from a non-platonic location.
Any thoughts on that?
@Sooson TMI and I choose to believe you’re not joking.
lol. Strip clubs are the fastest way to separate men from their money.... but no judgement if you're into that kind of thing.
Still not something to mention here. As believable as him trying to post on CC while in a strip club is, he's probably just trolling.
@IronLemon - Of course he is. Unless the website has every strip club location mapped out, it's not going to know the type of business they're connecting from.
Maybe he saw someone he recognized from the site and was trying to find the profile to verify. He said he was "logging in," not posting. I've reported a few strippers/exotic dancers with profiles here.
Pros can't do non-platonic work on the side but there is no rule that says that other users can't go to these types of places. It's kinda strange to bring it up through unless he was trolling which I'm sure he was.
@Mike403 Thank you! See, people are so consumed by wondering why men don't cuddle men they can't even get a joke anymore. @starrynitecuds Should I start flagging posts for selective outrage? not to mention the flawed logic behind thinking that doing so would be wrong (what else can you not look at on your phone while visiting such place? Check your fakebook page? Track your Amazon shipments?)
I gotta go get a double whopper. And wow I swear if they don't put extra cheese on it this time I'm gonna lose it.
Trolling is quite consistent for him.
@Sooson i just wanted to follow up with you on that double whopper…did they put on the extra cheese this time? Funny thing is I actually know of a certain club where they serve good cheeseburgers…they always have fresh buns
@lonelytauros Don't encourage his habit of trying to disrupt threads that he doesn't like for whatever reason.
@lonelytauros that's a good one.
Personally I love @Sooson sense of humor. More fun than any arguing. Maybe you could always share your locations so we can keep track of you?
Honestly, a truly painful number of the people that come here treat all of this exactly like a strip club.
@CharlesGrove - Or worse. At a properly run strip club, you aren't allowed to touch the dancers.
@g_w_t_w im currently in my living room eating breakfast I’ll keep you posted on my next location later
