Do we have to repeat it? I mean you quoted it so i know you read it. The appeal to make coin overrides the pickiness just like it does when women choose to do it....
Because it takes no skill and no training to JUST hold someone?? The value in it is intrinsic. If you start making it about money, it becomes less about comfort and more about profit. I use cuddle buddies as a means of "escaping" life. Adding expectations to it would ruin the mental brake I get from it and I DECLINE!!!
@WriterGF What is and isn't considered "bashing" on this site is a matter of perception and because the site gets a cut of whatever the "pro" charges, there's absolutely bias involved- which is YET ANOTHER reason I'd never pay for this!
So much distain for pro cuddlers on this site... If you saw a massage therapist, would you refuse to pay? Haircut no paying? Its a therapeutic self care tool for many and yes efforts should be paid for like you'd do for any service.
@FitSmartCuddler I would not cuddle anyone I didn't like. I actually screen out anyone who shows the slightest hint of bitterness, resentment, or disrespect.
I was in a position to have a free cuddle with a well loved client recently, and said under the circumstance he would have to cuddle ME. He was happy to for a few minutes then his arm fell asleep and he was squirming and complaining then he abruptly fell asleep.
I'm still a little confused here. The original question reads: " if male Pro's were in high demand, should they charge for cuddles?" Well, a male Pro is already charging for cuddles.
I think the question is meant to read: "If more women wanted to cuddle Enthusiast men, would some Enthusiast men start to go Pro and charge for cuddles?" Is that the question?
@FitSmartCuddler I never said all the potential customers were ones that you would cuddle with for free. I only said that you could maintain your selectivity. This is the situation that female cuddlers currently have, as evidenced by Bianca's post above.
@great_pillow08 As was already noted, there is a policy against bashing pros because the site has been plagued with that. It wouldn't surprise me if pros get some leeway (although I have seen a lot banned) - if the site gets a rep for being hostile to pros and they go elsewhere, the site is dead.
That said, the site started without pros. It opened to them because there were nowhere near enough female enthusiasts for all the male enthusiasts. So, yes, there is money involved ... but there's also the fact that without pros, virtually no men on here would be getting anything. Given that there are other sites out there, it might even be a case that CC needs pros more than pros need CC.
And I would be surprised if you would pay for this - very, very few women hire male pros.
Sounds like a lot of you need a hug
That “If” in the Title Question is doing a LOT of work.
Because of the Law of Large Numbers there must have been at least one woman who paid for something (cuddles with an unknown man) that she could have been paid for.
But, with incredibly rare (and hypothetical) exceptions, male professional cuddlers that are actually taking bookings on paid sessions are catering to male clients.
Women can get physical attention whenever they wish.
You know, if they are willing to lower their standards of behavior, grooming, and safety…
I agree, you would presuppose that women would be willing to pay for a guaranteed safe, respectful, attentive cuddler that focused on their comfort during a session.
It’s that “guaranteed” part that gets sticky.
It helps to keep in mind that virtually EVERY human you meet has been abused by a “safe” man.
And don’t get me started on the business side of it. None of us expects a business to act in our benefit anymore.
So many assumptions and much speculation. People here seem obsessed with controlling others.
Well, yeah.
Virtually everything humans do is about trying to control other humans around them.
And very rarely about trying to control ourselves.
…and one more assumption and generalization. For every one, there will be an exception.
My hugs are exclusive, but freely given.
Except for that one exception that had no exception, so you can’t even generalize about exceptions.
Here we are, and there is no reason to talk to anyone.
Words as contention, and not communication.
@btc13 you clearly don't understand inner beauty or empathy, as you're speaking in absolutes and possibly looking to stir up contrary opinions. I'm not interested in replying to your taunts as I have nicer ways of corresponding with humans. By the way, I think it would be great if there were access to more reputable male Pro cuddle providers. I'm unconcerned that it would affect my professional endeavors Actually, I have tried to hire services myself for quality cuddly company when I was traveling, but I wasn't able to get timely replies.
@Auroradream
That is an interesting, but ultimately futile, question.
“How can you manage a roster of trained, vetted, reputable, safe, and insured cuddlers?”
If this was possible, and still allow for legal protection for the owners when the inevitable psychopath cuddler wiggles through the vetting process and abuses a client, then I think it would have happened.
I will say, in my youth I worked as security for a popular, well established, trusted bordello. The SW there basically broke down to something close to a 30 to 1 female to male/pan ratio.
The “Rolodex” of on call providers was much the same. And the male workers provided service to males almost exclusively.
In the couple of years I worked there there was NEVER an in person female client. The only women they would rarely have as a customer was the SO of a male regular client, bringing her along for… whatever. If that happened more than once a month it was unusual. (Also, ALWAYS a nightmare. Ugh, the fights.)
So, asides from the legal protection issues, the other issue is that there really is no market for males providing services of negotiable affection to women.
However, if you really want a cuddling based empire with a majority female customer base, figure out a way to coordinate an Uber/Dog Sitting connection business.
“Would you like a gorgeous, utterly clean and loveable golden doodle to snuggle, cuddle, pet, and talk to this afternoon? Maybe a poodle? And hey, if you’re a big dogs kind of woman, we got you covered. Meet King, our favorite St Bernard!”
@Janelle19 you said: "So much distain for pro cuddlers on this site... If you saw a massage therapist, would you refuse to pay? Haircut no paying? Its a therapeutic self care tool for many and yes efforts should be paid for like you'd do for any service."
I don't think anyone is saying you shouldn't be able to go into business and charge whatever you think the market will bear for your services. I think the issue some people have (myself included) is that part of the enjoyment for me in cuddling is knowing the person is with me because of who I am--my personality, conversational ability, sense of humor, physical presence, etc.--and not because I'm paying them. Conversely, I wouldn't be a pro male cuddler, even if there was demand for it, partly because I want the other person to feel the same. I wouldn't want to be with someone that I wouldn't normally choose to cuddle with but did it anyway because they were paying me.
That's me--to each their own, it's a free country.
I don't think being paid is inconsistent with not having a genuine connection. For me I just have a limited time in my day and a certain level of risk tolerance. You pay to make an appointment but I try to be genuine with every one of my clients. I think that's part of the enjoyment for me. In a perfect world without bills or dangerous people I'd probably do this for free!
It's like with a talk therapist, just cause you're paying them doesn't mean you don't form a genuine connection with them.
@btc13 you said: " I never said all the potential customers were ones that you would cuddle with for free. I only said that you could maintain your selectivity. This is the situation that female cuddlers currently have, as evidenced by Bianca's post above."
I don't think that's exactly what Bianca said, but okay, fair enough. I assumed everyone would envision at least a somewhat realistic hypothetical where there is high a demand for pro male cuddlers but it's not so high that the pro could pick and choose the most desirable cuddlers from the pool and be highly selective. Frankly, I don't think this is the case for most female pros either, but I'm sure there are some that are more popular than others and of course, the more in demand you are, the more selective you can be.
I'm not so sure that selectivity is actually following the "professional ethics code" of pro cuddling--e.g., if you're a 25-year-old cuddler are you allowed to turn away all interested clients 30 and over and only choose ones close to your age just because you can? But I suppose this is a topic for a different thread. ;-)
Anyway btc13, as I stated earlier in response to the question "Would I take money for cuddling if I could be ensured a high degree of selectivity?" ---no, I wouldn't.
Im not sure I get the point of this site.....the decision to become professional is a personal one...people shouldn't be judged for their decisions. Offering services as enthusiastic or professional reflects great character and provides a valued service to society. Im no expert but absolutely think cuddlers that provide services to. Clients are extremely talented as developing personal skills to interact with others emphathetically takes talent.
@dennis22554 For those who can’t access cuddling, or choose not to, this sort of griping often serves as a coping mechanism. It’s a way to rationalize their situation and protect their feelings. Let them have their moment—it doesn’t change the value or legitimacy of what we offer as professional cuddlers.
At the end of the day, we’re here for people who recognize and respect the unique service we provide, not to convince skeptics. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but their discomfort or misunderstanding doesn’t diminish the meaningful connections we help create for our clients.
Good point
@zalea, I thought I was following this thread closely. I don't recall anyone saying that getting paid is inconsistent with having a genuine connection.
Do you feel that someone did? If so, would you provide an example?
@DavidJH from the OP:
Even if a thousand women wanted to pay me to cuddle with them, I wouldn't, and here's why. Cuddling for me is a way to exchange some genuine and warmth and real connection, even if it's with someone you haven't known long and might never see again.
Ah yes, thank you @zalea, I forgot about that.
Although I agree that payment and genuine connection can and does coexist, I personally find it difficult to know when it does vs when it's just put on.
I seek out professionals that seem genuinely caring, and have found some that seem so, but sadly for myself, there is often a nagging doubt
@Auroradream I'm not sure where you got the idea that I don't understand inner beauty or empathy. I'm simply pushing back at the narrative that it is exclusive to female cuddlers and that male cuddlers are unable to provide support. These thoughts are not meant to taunt you in any way, but to simply address one aspect of your comment. I apologize if you have perceived it as disrespectful to you personally.
Just to clarify my viewpoint, I have no problem whatsoever with female professional cuddlers. I appreciate it actually as it has brought some wonderful women to this site that I have been able to share time with who otherwise would not have been here.
@FitSmartCuddler I guess since it it hypothetical, the degree to which the environment male professionals is just how you want to envision it. In either case, you may opt not to charge even if the supply/demand balance would allow for it, but as you have seen, many would.
I think if there was a balanced market, you would see the best cuddlers, male or female, be pros, and everyone else enthusiasts, but with the market imbalance virtually all women can be pros, and no men can be. I just reject the idea that women can charge because of their superior cuddling skills, empathy, or whatever. All women can charge. I have met several women cuddlers who just found out about this from a random interaction who said, "I can make money for just lying together with someone??!" and became pros. No experience, training, or certification necessary.
@zalea Let's put the shoe on the other foot. In our hypothetical world where where's a demand for pro male cuddlers, let's say you paid to go see one and he was warm and comforting. Would the possibility that he would have nothing to do with you if you weren't paying him trouble you at all?
@brownglucose, you'd book huh lol. So disingenuous!
@g_w_t_w I think you are absolutely correct with your assessment of what many men would enjoy here. I think you could flip the script and have many women here admit what they really want here which is a lot of cash, many without offering what it is they claim to offer in return. Many pros pages read the same, hunting at offering exactly what they know many men are looking for
