My "assumptions" are the result of a lot of observation, by listening to their words, by how they respond to people telling them how hateful they're being. And to say I'm not advocating for change is an incredibly backwards interpretation. Unless you think advocating is exactly the same thing as effecting, or that the only people you can advocate to are people in power who hate you for how you were born.
Am I mistaken in my assumption that you're genuinely interested in learning more?
I don’t appreciate how people on this site repeatedly, willfully, ignore the challenges faced by transgender individuals. And I don’t appreciate that, in spite of the site’s stated terms of use, TxTom’s trolling is tolerated.
Im confused given this topic never focused on the subject and if it is a topic you feel strongly about..why not have the courage to make your own instead of rudely hijacking an existing forum posting
I wasn't trolling, Monkey.
I found it inconceivable that IronLemon couldn't use any public restroom in Florida without being arrested.
So I tried to engage in a conversation about it, while I was simultaneously being called names.
To be clear, I am sure there are very specific public restrooms in Florida that I would also not be allowed to use.
Sorry again, dennis, for the thread derailment.
You're assuming I've never done that. You're also assuming that bringing up a real-world example involving labels is "hijacking".
As for what I'll assume based on your avoidance, I'll keep that to myself.
TxTom’s trolling is tolerated.
Don't you go practicing your alliteration on me! (Monty Python reference)
Tom..its not your fault...I tried once again to bring a positive perspective to the site...failed miserably once again..but won't stop trying...I think people are sick of fighting and negativity and appreciate your viewpoints
False.
Where did I say I couldn't use any public restroom in Florida? You're being disingenuous with your "doubt".
False. You were only trying to be dismissive of what I said. As usual. And I wasn't calling you any names, unless you're severely oversensitive to having what you say questioned.
This is childish back and forth incase any of you were wondering.
Two opposites can have a healthy relationship as long as their morals align. Having different opinions and open discussions is much more fun than having someone that agrees with you on everything.
@leila..I havecertainly found it entertaining in the past..was afraid things might have cc hanged and everybody now had to be completely aligned..that would make it such a boring world!
It’s possible, probably even likely, that consensual relationships are not actually possible, especially in this culture.
Simply because of the vast, and various, imbalances of power.
Including economic.
If you wouldn’t engage with someone, unless they pay you, I don’t know that the engagement for money is entirely consensual. It might be a deliberate acquiescence, but I don’t think that’s that same thing.
Much like if someone only says yes because the consequences of saying no are worse.
Do basic principles of electricity need to be revisited?
The answer is yes as shown in this highly controversial scientific explanation. One is animate and the other is not.
This post is about me. I just read all of this, and have had a good laugh. There was no wish of death, or demise - that would have me booted. I don’t want to cuddle with people who have opposed political views and morals that impact me and my friends lives. That’s it. Case closed.
Do opposites attract... I assume we know in the realm of physics, yes. an electron carries a negative charge while a proton carries a positive charge, and this opposite attraction is what holds an atom together. Through opposition strength is fostered. Growth is potential.

The beauty in the dichotomy. The sacred and the profane. Without light we have no shadow, without sadness do we appreciate joy?
Why opposites aren’t what they seem..... culture. Some academics have dedicated their careers to understanding that culture shapes us, morphs us, creates thought patterns in similar veins. I like what someone earlier said about the concept of opposites being one-dimensional and thus negating the entire query because we humans are not one dimensional ergo of course opposites attract they are bound to.
@IronLemon, I'm sure you have people in your life you are opposite of in whatever opposites sort of way it is. None of us are the same. Some of us are Ruby/Sapphire Garnet. Some of us are hurt. Sometimes we lash out. Sometimes we need to embrace the shadow, welcome the darkness of our soul and resonate with our imperfections. And then love. Love so deeply your bones ache and hug that little girl hiding deep inside with love. Because I'm crying a little now because my little self needs a hug, too. Maybe we're opposite. Maybe we're the same. But probably we're just imperfect little balls bopping around this rock spinning in space, one with a positive charge and one with a negative and it's the existence of both of us that holds this whole shit together.
❤️
@cozysox I like it, but I the forces of that duality that attract us are the very same forces that destroy us.
(honestly, WAY more than a duality, but we always try to categorize and simplify)
Life is nothing if not ironic, and dumb.
Opposites attract in friendships and business partnerships, not just romantic relationships. It is about respect, trust and understanding. My best friend is a vibrant, intelligent woman 10 years younger than myself, our core values are similar and we respect each other. Whereas she is spicy, I am bland. She's an extrovert, I am an introvert. She eats pizza for breakfast, I eat kippers. She despises kippers, I despise pizza. Such differences would matter more in a romantic relationship.
@cozysox
All very felt and very true. Sometimes I walk among the shadows. Sometimes I burn with a fire bright. Sometimes I am there to shield those I care for from the wind and the rain. From the opposites who respect who I am I gain additional insight into the world, new perspectives I would not have otherwise seen, experiences that I would have otherwise avoided.

She definitely needs that hug. She's been pretty scared of late. Most of us have. Except of course for those of us who don't waste time with fear.
