Sitting in my truck …. I need motivation to go in!!!! The pre work drink did nothing

  • Here’s my fitness update id like to share, I started working out at the end of January and have kept up with consistency. I’ve lost about 31 pounds since I’ve began this journey and to watch my strength grow each day, it feels amazing. It’s not just about the weight loss though, it has also been great for my mental health. Im looking forward to continuing to improve myself✨

  • I stopped working out once I realized it didn't matter how fit I was in order to be attractive since I was only 5' 9".

  • @SitaRosee congratulations!!!! That’s real commitment!. And I agree with you, it’s not just the physicals aspect of it, it does help a lot with mental health.

I don’t go as often as I would like to go, but when I do my mood and energy levels improve.

  • @Ineedahugortwo thank you so much for telling me that. It has taken great commitment to myself. I was going down a bad path for about two years, drinking a lot and blacking out. I wasn’t healthy, when I decided to make a change, I was told I had to hire an actual trainer to help me even lose 30 pounds. I wasn’t going to be discouraged though because I have only dreamed of making this positive change it was time for it to go into action. Sometimes I exercise twice a day because my head can be that much of a mess. But afterwards I feel great and it’s helping me be a better person. And now since I’ve started my journey I’ve lost more on my own training myself, because I trust in myself and how I’ll push myself. I feel fortunate that I did not need a trainer. I support and congratulate anyone who has also taken this step, it’s a rewarding one 😊✨

  • I haven’t worked out this week but I have been consistently getting 9 k ish steps a day.

  • I've had a life of transition. Used to weigh 274 lbs until my 40th bday when I was diagnosed with diabetes, cancer and got into a car accident all in the same year. My brother did warn me that the warranty expires at 40.

But I changed everything and this is 3 years later. It all started with a single step though. I changed the internal dialogue in my mind from insulting to encouraging.

  • The before pic.

  • @SitaRosee @Huggycatbear @brownglucose Congratulations on achieving your incremental goals and having the determination to see them through. Your body and mind will thank you in the long run!

That’s what I love about exercise and working out, just the sheer happiness from freed endorphins and achieving something for yourself!

    Keep it going people!

  • Thanks @TheFunCartel

Gym is a life sentence for me.

  • Ok y'all. Holidays are over. How did we do on our health goals? My goal was to go from 280-250 by Christmas. (I started in Septemver.) I came 4 lbs. short. But I got there this week. My next goal is 220 by May. And to do a mini triathlon in August.

  • @CharlieBear Thanks! I had to turn it into a tank because uh, child size large doesn't quite fit on an adult lmao. Though these days I'm also cutting up my adult smalls since my back grew too much (っ´ω`c)

Got up to 35 dips and 14 clean chin ups this week. Most people don’t realize how hard that is but I was excited at least. Goal is 50 dips and 20 clean chin ups. Need to lose a few more pounds to be able to do that. I say clean because most people doing chin ups either kick or sway or don’t extend all the way down. It’s much harder doing it the right way.

It is good to read people are doing well with their workouts. I recently returned to training at a boxing gym after taking a couple of months off because of a death in my family.

I was still getting in some weights and a lot of cardio, but I found that the boxing was really helping in that after a couple of months of not doing it, I noticed that despite doing a conventional gym workout I have been a touch off athletically. So it is nice to be back to that.

  • I did kickboxing this morning! And an hour and a half walk with a friend yesterday

@4bearhugs I'm proud of you! My 2024 goal was to get huge biceps and boulder shoulders, and I have crushed it. 💪

    My 2025 goals are:

    Master wide stance bench press

    Add a new equipment/exercise

    Shoulder 1 rep max weight

    Sparring match with best friend

Beat best volume in weightlifting session

    Beat best personal records

    Try an unassisted pull up

    Lose ten pounds

    Eat 90% clean

Drink a gallon of water every day

    More tattoos

Better every year! Happy new year 💜

  • Despite all going on, still hanging in there! 🦾

  • @roni56 being healthy isn't scary.

  • @Mela_B going to gym doesnt mean one is healthy

  • @roni56 Why the hate?

@4bearhugs @Ebon27 @radiatawellness @Mela_B @HarleyGirlKate @hoosierdan76 Love hearing the successes and the determination. Exercise is fantastic and results are even fantasticer! 🤭Keep it up.

  • Just got back from the gym. Trying to get back to a consistent routine - swimming, biking, and hopefully back to weights and yoga. Last year an injury came back to bother me after 20 years (torn rotator cuff). I'll be checking the MRI result tomorrow.
Shutting my mouth and losing 20 lb. would be nice too, and that's become more challenging with age. Well, a day at a time!

Dang, @Mela_B...! GREAT progress, good for you!!!
Just for fun, would you include arm wrestling in the next session? 😁
I might get my 1st tattoo, btw.

  • Great job everyone!!! 👏

  • @roni56 I didn't say it did.

    @TheFunCartel thanks!

    @Cuddlesofcuddle thanks! 😊

@Maverick07 thanks my friend! Heck yeah we can armwrestle! Send me pics of the tattoo!

  • @TheFunCartel hate ? Not sure why you think like that. I just commented scary based on the rigorous routine. And statement regarding gym and healthy is actually true.

  • @Mela_B i didnt say you said it did.

“ going to gym doesnt mean one is healthy”

Going to the gym means someone is at least trying to be healthy, which is more than what could be said about most folk. Biggest problem with statements like this is that it usually stems from guys who are trying to say someone doesn’t look like their idea of an attractive person and really doesn’t have much to do about actual health.

@mikesugs “ I stopped working out once I realized it didn't matter how fit I was in order to be attractive since I was only 5' 9".

Daniel Craig in the James Bond films was only 1” taller. Just saying. The beach scene is what put him on the map, in terms of male attractiveness it’s one of the top movie scenes of all times and it is 100% due to his workout regimen.

  • After 28 years of struggles I turned my life around last year I am down 30 pounds and I just incline benched 225 for 3 reps today 💪🏾
