Has anyone ever cuddled to Eraserhead?
I had a first date watching Eraserhead at my flat and yes we did have a cuddle but we were both Goths so goes with the territory - RIP David Lynch

That would be a dream. Eraserhead is one of my favorites. Such a fantastic work. I am going to miss David Lynch so much. One of the very best artists of our times.

Since you’re asking I’d say a hard no. Although it is a very unique, artistic cinematic creation, and one certainly worthy of intellectual discourse, it is also a dark, disturbing, depressing, and scratchy black and white nine inch nails-esque creep-fest that would certainly take me far away from the warm cuddly soul I have next to me.
If you wanna see it, go for it, but during a cuddle? - I say nay nay. *

Wow, what an incredible mental image: two goths cuddling to Eraserhead. The intimate contrast of a cozy cuddle against that film's intense, otherworldly mood.
When I did college radio, I had a show called "The Cinema Subway." A goth at the station once pointed out that the soundtrack (which I later learned from a special edition was pulled, in part, out of a major film studio's dumpster) laid down an early example of industrial. Given how closely industrial and goth aesthetics are linked, it’s interesting to think about how the film might have shaped not just personal experiences but cultural ones as well.
If you remember anything else about the experience, I'd love to hear it. Either way, it’s such a great story to imagine!
@PeopleLikeUs The girl in question was a friend. We both loved David Lynch and I had Eraserhead on VHS. This was about 1993 ish. I invited her over for a meal (I cooked) and to watch the film. That night we went from being friends to being girlfriend/bofriend! Sadly it didn't last but we stayed in touch. We are now both in our late 50s and she is my best friend.. and we still both love that film.

I had a similar first date. She worked the magazine rack at Tower Records. She crafted her entire outfit with yarn. I was smitten. I asked her about a hard-to-find magazine (Music Connection, as I recall), which sparked a conversation. I guess she picked up on something, and long story short, she asked me out. She took me to see Eraserhead at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I remember hearing "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donovan worked into the DJ’s goth mix, and I’ve never listened to that song as anything but goth ever since. We cuddled through the entire movie (outdoors in the summer), and feelings developed. However, as I was getting to know her, she talked a lot about wanting a van to live in so she wouldn’t have to rent anymore. We dated a few more times, and all of a sudden, she was gone. Moved, cell disconnected, even her daughter at Starbucks was gone, and Tower said she just quit. I think had she stayed local, I would at some point have bumped into her because, as you know, the art/music/fashion scene just isn’t that big. But I never saw her again. I imagined her just driving off in a van.
Oh wow that is quite the story and such a shame you never saw her again. Did you know the Butthole Surfers did a cover of Hurdy Gurdy man? Maybe thats what is was?
I love eraserhead and most of Lynch’s movies but I can’t see cuddling to it lol
