Me! And butterfly kisses not with cuddle buddies, I apologize I didn't even read all the way through lol

  • Platonic cuddle partner, no, but a romantic partner, yes!

  • No kissing on a platonic cuddle site. Do you ask for consent? Sounds romantic to me.

  • Oh, come on. Non-lip kisses can be affectionate or playful without being romantic, and can be friendly, especially if people know each other a bit... Without being romantic.

  • I have to ask. Are Eskimo kisses platonic?

Part 2: Which is more platonic, Eskimo kisses or kisses on the cheek?

  • No donโ€™t like them in any setting platonic or romantic its more kiddie to me

Itโ€™s a red flag to me. I would find it creepy in a cuddle session.
But yeah I can see that of course some guys will try to make it something else lol
Playful affection sounds like a dating thing.

  • @Huggycatbear considering a kiss on the cheek is a common greeting in some cultures, and maybe, in Hollywood, I don't see it as particularly romantic. I consider Eskimo kisses as a more "cute" thing to do rather than romantic.

  • Eskimo is a derogatory term. The correct term is Inuit.

    @IronLemon

Yep, I just say ice cream bar now. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

Edited: itโ€™s pointless to argue on the internet. I should know better. My apologies.

  • Pointing out that eskimo is a derogatory term is not "voicing outrage". And true, I should have included other groups, but most people have only heard of the Inuit.

  • The first question to ask is do they have a runny nose?

The second question to ask is why does it matter if the nose is runny?

Because you should be asking for consent from your cuddle partner rather than forum strangers.

Personally I have no issue with Eskimo kisses. As others have said , I think theyโ€™re a cute way to express affection for someone. I would never just rub my nose on someone without asking, buti like to express affection and appreciation to people who have gifted me with their time and the safety and comfort cuddling provides.

  • @SweetlyBlissful Beautifully answered ๐Ÿ˜Š
    For that, ๐Ÿ‘ƒ๐Ÿ‘ƒ๐Ÿ‘ƒ

  • I think that type of affection is pretty intimate and would probably only do it with someone i was already very intimate with. It's proximity wise so close to a mouth kiss i think i would do that with someone i wouldn't full on kiss.

Question: what's the root of the word Eskimo? Where did the word originate from? I get why it's offensive to the people it was assigned to i just want to understand the origin.

  • No but I'll blow my nose on your sleeve if you piss me off

Question: what's the root of the word Eskimo? Where did the word originate from? I get why it's offensive to the people it was assigned to i just want to understand the origin.

@ReltvlyCanshes It was originally an Algonquin word used to describe the northern tribes. I think it meant something like "people who use snowshoes" or something similiar. The French adopted the word and spelled it "Esquimaux", and Americans Anglicized the spelling later on. I honestly don't know why it would be considered derogatory, just inaccurate (sort of like referring to a Gypsy as Jewish).

I travel to Alaska sometimes and am well-acquainted with some individuals from different tribes up there - Tlingit, Inuit, and Tsimshian, among others. Have never once heard any of them take offense to the word "Eskimo", although some will correct the speaker as to the tribal name the person belongs to.

  • Girls always be trying to give me Eskimo kisses

  • In a lot of ways, it seems similar to the word "Indian" to refer to people of various native tribes, which is currently in disfavor. While I don't personally use the term (mostly because I spend a lot of time around people from India and it can be confusing), I often note that when I drive by the tribal casinos on I-5 near Tacoma, WA, the name "Puyallup Tribe of Indians" is proudly displayed.

  • It's also something that is most typically done between parent and child, not necessarily between adults

I did it with my daughter when she was very little, but I can't see feeling comfortable doing it with a cuddle partner.

*that was meant for another thread.

  • edited January 2025

Lol I should clarify I go like them in a relationship setting, I've even done them with my son. But can't really see it in a forum such as this. Its still a kiss

  • This is kind of a weird thread to me. Obviously this isn't something that should take place in a cuddle session without consent, but that's true for all activities here.

As for the comments saying that it's something they've only experienced with children and/or romantic partners: For the vast majority of the world, cuddling itself is something that only occurs with children or romantic partners for them.

Despite the name, it's very different from kissing.

    So some (perhaps rhetorical) questions:

    • Is touching foreheads together ok?
    • How is touching foreheads significantly different than touching noses?
    • If we give touching foreheads a cute name like "Ram kisses" does it become not ok?

From my reading, there is nothing about it that's against the rules of the site, so if two people decide they like it, who am I to judge?

@Achterbahn I agree. This thread is just a little weird for me. Not relevant to this site And once again someone trying for a romantic experience here.
I absolutely donโ€™t want any cuddler
(edit) putting his mouth on my face or anywhere during cuddling - in any way.
๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™m not worried about it happening but stillโ€ฆ
IMO That is just romantic partners.

  • @g_w_t_w But it's not kissing.

  • But it's not kissing.

Now itโ€™s getting weird. If someone says itโ€™s not for them and they wouldnโ€™t be interested and you keep pressing them by saying itโ€™s not a kiss then you are trying to convince them their boundary is somehow mistaken or lacking understanding. Negotiating a stated boundary is a red flag and creepy.

  • hmmm. so I occasionally wondered why animals often nuzzles my nose. Then I haven't notice when a girl incidentally 'nose kissed' mine.
