@Jubal i agree with you. After what happened to me last time nothing surprises me anymore. Let me just say they call me Ghandi because I got peace like a river

How do you want to be remembered?

As long as the people (who mattered to ME while alive) remembers me, that's all that matters.😁

Especially where my son is concerned, I just wanna be remembered as a good responsible mother who loved him dearly ...Even when there were times that I felt that didn't "like him" (and he certainly didn't "like me" as his mother at times either 😏☺️), but I will always love him and be around as long as it is destined for me be around for him. ❤️🫂

    For you see...

Through my son my Legend Of Katota The Grimm N Sweet, will live on! I do hope that he tells the tale of his mother and our adventures together to his future offspring .Lol😆

Like Uhhh...."The Tales Of The Six Year Potty Training Struggle" or "Hormonal Middle School Crush"...Or "Mom, There's Hair Down There...WHY?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Or My personal favorite, "Why Complete Homework Assignments, When There's A SOFA To Hide It Under?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yep, lots of adventures. Lots of memories.😁❤️

Being good IMO requires self reflection. This reflection on fulfilling your purpose and purposeful, genuine interactions with others creates a canal of wisdom that if followed will satisfy both longings and in the end solidify your legacy.

Am I responsible for my people? Do I hold ill will to those I perceive as enemies?

Having purpose is important. A purpose that involves justified violence will just make it easy for groups to manipulate that category of behavior with a word, or a position or perception. That kind of existence will always be in a fight of some kind, when the true battle is of the mind. (With yourself). Love your enemies is a real thing.

When programming the programmer assigns nodes to objects that define their actions. Without the nodes, the objects are blank. One can assign a node to an object and that object takes on the characteristics of that node, or multiple nested nodes. (Or instances, or variables)

    Operate under one node.

    Love.

Make that your only goal, I believe that no matter, your circumstance, condition, excuses or justifications, a place at the table can always be set. A coversations door can always be opened. A hearts mind with a caring beat can always be loved. A genuine gesture can always be received. I believe that with love as your focus, even the hardest of hearts can follow a path to rejecting all fears that lead to hate and embrace the spirit of being loved and as a result create the environment for being a good person.

  • I do good things and am good to people. Most of the time. I feel like overall I'm a good person. I have flaws.and can be selfish and shitty and thoughtless and careless. I am certainly made of sin. But overall I feel the good in me wins. Whether or not others see the good in me is entirely based on their viewpoint of how well they know me and how they see me.

  • Right now it's all COVID poops for me. Interesting consistency indeed

It's disappointing that there's people here so insensitive that they say that the only solution is to love people who are trying to erase your existence and doing an alarmingly good job of it. It's easy to be idealistic when it's something that doesn't involve you or that you don't care about. But roughly 80 years ago we saw full well that being meek and docile goes badly, and it's a lesson we should absolutely never forget.

I could try to explain again that being willing to defend yourself and others is in no way the same thing as "advocating violence". But I know the ones who don't understand don't want to understand.

This thread is about what makes a person good. So on that topic:

A good person protects and defends the lives of those around them.

A bad person sits on the sidelines and tuts about how people should be nicer to their oppressors.

    Aww, get better friend...🫂🫂🫂🫂

I apologize for my insensitive remarks, As they were meant for the group as a whole, we only want what is best for you. We all need more understanding. Be at peace.

  • @Dance_Culture Thank you. I hope one day that fighting is no longer necessary. For today, love drives me to fight as hard as I can.

That's something to ponder. Both sides fight as fiercely as they can, but one side fights for love (good) and one side fights for hate (evil). It's the underlying reason which determines if the fighting is good or bad. If I'd had this thought in my mind, my first comment wouldn't have been quite so poorly worded.

  • I don't think there is any clear and simple definition of what's good. I will say the times I've been most certain that I have done good, were times when I knew my reward was going to be in the afterlife, not here on Earth.

  • A good person understands the world is not black and white that in fact it's made up of many shades of colors. Although there is general agreement when it comes to many evil and good topics..even they have different shades and colors. People don't line up nicely in buckets..so to simplify what makes a good person..I would imagine it would be someone who generally tries to lead a respectful life one who doesn't advocate violence everytime they disagree..there is always a path to a peaceful solution to AZalmost any disagreement..a bonus would be someone open to adopting shelter pets

  • If the name of the game is to be remembered for as long as possible (which isn't what the title suggests, I don't think, but that is what i got from the op) and I continue to be me ... then I think I will always lose that game.

I have always been a really good sidekick; I am much more able to be sure someone else is getting limelight than I am. I am able to do much more good when the attention is off me. So while, I might make my mark, you'll likely think it was from some other source. (And I won't mind you thinking that ...)

  • @SunsetSnuggles

Being remembered is not my goal in life. To be honest, that sounds like a very ego-centric goal,

100% agree. A doctor who treats patients free of charge, a brave firefighter who risk their life to save a stranger, an anonymous donor to a children’s hospital, or an encouraging teacher who inspires his or her students…

All of these people may all do a tremendous amount of good that will ripple through the next 4 or 5 generations even though their name may never be known or may not be remembered beyond the lives they directly impact.

  • I think these are good people and a great church
