Thoughts on short sessions

What are your thoughts on short sessions? If you cuddle as a pro or as a client, do you find them to be worthwhile or do you think they are too short and rushed? By short sessions I mean anything under two hours so like hour long or 90 minute sessions.

As a pro, I find it difficult to offer these sessions because of driving time. Whether it’s driving to my offices or to a clients home, I’m usually spending more time driving than in the session if it’s anything less than two hours, especially with making the bed and packing everything up at the end. But I also feel like two hours is the time needed to get that full reset and feel fully relaxed, especially if it’s someone new and they need some time to warm up to the idea of cuddle therapy. I’m considering offering shorter sessions if the person can come when I already have a session in that particular office that day, but I’m questioning if these shorter sessions are even worth offering in terms of the benefits and relaxation.

I’m guessing this question doesn’t apply to enthusiasts because typically there isn’t a time limit like there isn’t a professional session but if you have an opinion, feel free to weigh in.

I don't really cuddle as a pro or as a client, but speaking from my personal preference a couple hours plus breaks followed by some more is nice. However just hanging out and hugging up with someone while doing things is also nice, which is typically sporadic like micro cuddles. So I guess it just depends on the situation, who I'm with, and if I want to get my cuddle on or just spend passive time together. Ultimately though I love my own space and time to myself so to cuddle at all I need to want to, and even though I'm on a cuddle site I'm just not always in the mood for all that. Doesn't take a whole lot to fill me up

  • I have done 2 hour sessions while traveling, mostly because I have additional time. However, at home, the majority of sessions I do are 1 hour. After I have seen someone once, I often ask for 90 minutes for follow-up sessions. I find that 90 minutes tends to be the best balance for me between not feeling like the time flew by, cost and time out of my schedule. Generally, while at home, I just don't have many 2+ hour blocks of time that I can set aside.

I should note that all of my sessions at home have been where the other person has hosted in their space, so the driving time was pretty much all on my end.

  • Most sessions are 2-4 hours but I find especially a first time client sometimes only wants an hour. Once they see how wonderful the experience they can book for linger the next time. I also offer a free 30 min to add on to a next sessions if they do book 2 hours or more.

  • I totally agree with you there in regards to the hr cuddles. Anything less than 2 hrs is not beneficial to me since I have to drive over an hr to get to most of my clients. My current area doesn't have many active cuddlers from what I've noticed. I had one client that was constantly bugging for me to travel over 1.5 hrs to cuddle for only an hr and wouldn't consider paying me for my travels either 🙄. Thankfully he stopped asking. And yeah I feel that it would feel pretty rushed. I mean 2-3 hours just seem to fly by, so you won't even have time to blink during an 1hr session haha. On the other hand, if I didn't live so far I prolly wouldn't mind the short ones at all. 🤗

  • One hour sessions are completely worthwhile and in fact are all you need. They may not be all you want.

I had nothing but one hour sessions for the first couple of years of my cuddling life. Then a couple of years of one hour sessions with a very occcasional longer one with an enthusiast. All my commitment to and enthusiasm for cuddling was created by one hour sessions.

The travel time was typically an hour each way although in my case that was irrelevant. Travel time longer than 2 hours was not realistic at the time, and I would have very cheerfully travelled two hours each way for a one hour cuddle. How far would you travel for a tax-free, no strings £25k?

For the very first session, I would recommend 90 minutes. And yes, overnights are lovely. But the key improvements in social acceptance, biochemical physiology, mood, etc. can all be achieved - without difficulty - in an hour.

For some clients with a lot of trauma around touch I can imagine it might take quite a number of sessions to reach this stage, and indeed it might not be true at all.

  • I'm not in the pro/client strata myself. But I did have a (first time) session today with a guy where the whole session was about an hour and a half, with an hour of cuddles. It was great. I loved it. I would have liked longer, but he was only coming through town, and I was on split shift break at work. Thankfully, he should be coming back around on Tuesday and have time for an overnight :)

TL;DR, I prefer longer, but an hour is totally great if that's what you can get.

  • I offer 1 hour I find they are worth it most people tell me it’s too short and will book longer the next session, I also find it helps because not everyone has the budget for 2 or 4 hour sessions.

  • I like two hours as a minimum, with three hours on subsequent visits if the pro and I connect well. I have done one hour sessions (when that's all the schedule allowed) but I felt like I was worried about the clock the whole time.

  • What I’ve noticed is for some people they need that first hour just to acclimate and really relax and let their guard down and the second hour is where they really start to enjoy themselves so I’ve had people who’ve only booked one hour sessions back when I used to offer them not give me as much positive feedback as people who booked longer sessions where they really felt like they had a positive take away. I also think this is especially true with people who are nervous and might spend more time talking. I recently had a new client who spent the entire first hour of the session just talking and we cuddled the second hour and it was really great for him because he had so much warm-up time. But I think an hour could work for somebody who cuddles often and doesn’t have any nerves or tension to get over. I don’t know if anyone’s had similar experiences from the professional or client side.

  • Nothing wrong with requiring a minimum, I’ve seen quite a few pros do it. I don’t host so I can’t relate to some of your grievances but I understand where you’re coming from. I personally don’t mind short sessions and still find them worthwhile.

  • I dipped my toe in the water with 1hr. By the time I got comfortable, it was time to leave.

Two hours seems like a compromise on money and quality. I've gone longer once or twice with pros and really enjoyed the experience. The wallet not so much.

Well, the argument is somewhat bifurcated in that there are 2 components to the equation. Time and money.

    1) TIME - I agree that 60 minutes can feel a little bit short but I don’t consider 90 minutes to be a “shorter session”.

    2) MONEY - The second half of the equation is if it is worth your time as a pro and that’s your prerogative to make that call.

Since you’re asking, I’ve paid up to (your) $150 an hour but at that price, if you’re also insisting on a 2 hour session then that’s a hard no for me. I can afford it but I’m not paying $300 for 2 hours of cuddling just on GP (general principal ). And then, what if you get your cup filled in that hour, or 90 minutes, or the chemistry isn’t there, or she had garlic for lunch, or ___________? There are a variety of reasons but for me personally I just don’t want to be forced to commit to that duration.

Case in point, I had a session a couple months ago with a very well reviewed pro that I was really really looking forward to meeting…. But the moment we actually met, she got really passive aggressive bitchy because I kept her majesty waiting an entire FOUR minutes (yes 4 minutes) and that ruined my entire vibe for the night, so much to the point where I just wanted to pay her in full and then dismiss her, but that was a very rare sitch.

Things are always a two-way street here in terms of what works for both parties and what doesn’t. Bottom line: I am a “free market “ guy so every pro has the right to set their own mark and every client has the right to say no thank you.

You do you and let the chips fall where they may.

  • @marcustanaka that has been my experience is many new clients need that extra time to get fully comfortable in a session. I have one client whom I haven’t seen in years who was very depressed and only ever wanted to book an hour and I could see him start to shift towards the very end of the session but then it was time to go. When I followed up with him he said he didn’t feel any benefits after, and eventually he stopped seeing me all together citing not feeling any better. He was a big part of my inspiration to stop offering hour long sessions. I just know if he did two hours it would have helped him, it still haunts me to this day.

I will be honest about this one. I think that the average client at least mail one quite often is married. Sometimes you have to put money aside because their spouse has them on a short leash and may even be abusive so putting aside another 80 bucks or another 90 bucks or hundred bucks or 200 bucks might be hard sometimes.

  • I have done some one hour café meet and cuddle sessions, when someone is brand new. Most of my cuddle sessions tend to be 3 hours, When it goes any longer than that, I always make a snack or order in. I love cuddles with a full tummy and having food with my friends!

  • When having a cuddle with someone for the first time I will do 1 hr and see how things go.
I have had a few that I just didn’t feel that comfortable with and that 1 hr felt like 2-3 hrs.
But many times the 1 hr was way to short so after the 1 hr I asked if they could stay an extra hour and have never been told no.
So I try to do 2 hrs after my first cuddle and sometimes that seems to short.

  • @Eliezer good share! I'm having my coffee now.

  • @Auroradream cheers to that! I am drinking my black coffee now too! I wish that alcohol were also healthy, but I am glad that at least one of the two wonderful and legal drugs (coffee and alcohol) are healthy.

I kind of agree with all the comments from both sides. I myself prefer the initial 1-hour cuddle and if there is a positive connection between the both of us, 2–3-hour sessions thereafter. For me $$$ is not too much of an issue but I could see where it could be for some.

  • I need 2hr minimum to really get the benifet of cuddling

  • 1 hour, you blink and its over.
2 hours you just are bearly getting started
3 hours is good, but often right in the middle of a conversation you don't want to stop.
4 hours is kind of a sweet spot
5 hours there will have some chill moments of silence, just taking in the beauty of the moment.
Over nights are fun but I'm not used to sleeping in the same bed with someone else so the rest isn't very good but my oxytocin tank is full so it's totally worth it.

  • As someone who hosts 98% of the time, I do not mind 1hr sessions. I'd say 2-3 hours is the sweet spot as it opens up a balance of conversation and peaceful moments together. Much more organic.

I purposely set up a sliding scale of discounts to encourage longer sessions as I feel they're the most beneficial for others. ☺️☺️

  • Pro here, and I do a lot of hosting. So one hour is totally fine for me. If I am driving really far, I ask for an extra fee for my drive time and gas and then I don't mind it.

My primary goal is helping people, so if they need/want one hour, I'm happy to do that.

I do enjoy the longer sessions more and I think longer sessions can be more beneficial. 3-4 hours is amazing! But I'm happy to accommodate what my clients want. 😊

  • I would rather feel a little rushed, than feel that I've hung around too long.

  • I'm still looking for the sweet spot on cuddling time. I think it's 3-4 hours.

2 hours is the bare min but still goes by fast.

Overnights can be cool for multiple activities along with the cuddling, but when it comes to the sleeping part it sometimes comes off a bit odd for either party.

  • Some people like one hour, some like two, some like three, and some like even more.

I'm glad I could share my vast wisdom with you all. 😅

But that's why there are many cuddlers and many options - because we're all different. I've never done less than three hours, because the first 30 min (at least) feels like small talk/getting comfortable/getting to know each other a bit. And even that tends to fly by so quickly. But I can see the case where someone just needs an hour and they are refreshed and energized by that.

  • @JargogleBearHug I know you are poking fun at your vast wisdom but in this case it is wisdom. Everyone has their own opinion on the perfect session and that includes time. There are so many factors that people put into this—price, past experiences, if they are shy or not, etc. So naturally the opinions will be scattered.

One of my determining factors is my intuition based off of interactions. I usually do 2+ hours but I have done one hour sessions before because the tone of the person made me question even after interactions whether I will like the person at all. I have been correct every time and based off my experiences I no longer do one hour sessions—if something isn’t right and I am reticent I just move on to the next person. So in my opinion time is determined by connection and trust.

  • I tend to try to do one hour sessions for pros that I meet for the first time, as it is an investment and can get expensive for me. Sometimes an hour is all I can afford at the moment, other times I just want to see if I would want to see them again or book for longer. There have been times where I asked if they had the possibility to extend it once the hour is over if I really enjoyed it and didn't want it to end. Sometimes it's a yes, sometimes it's no if they have other things planned in their schedule (other clients or just things to do) which is perfectly understandable. I think the longest I did was 3 hours but that wasn't the first time I saw that particular pro. I had already seen them before and felt comfortable with them. One day I'd like to be able to afford longer ones such as overnight sessions.
So long story short I do 1 hour to try someone new out, with the possibility of longer sessions in the future (though not always due to finances).
