Are you a pet collector or pet adverse?

I would definately consider myself as a pet collector...having ducks, chickens, dogs, turtles rabbits, birds, ferrets, just among the many animals that have shared my home at one time or another...lately I've thought about adopting a goat! A house full of animals is a lot of work but worth the effort..especially when they come from homes where they were previously abused! The interactions among them are amazing and certainly brighten a home!

    5 Cats and I would have had 20 if I could. Had rabbits in the past as well. but not getting more exotic than that

    I had a friend who owned a cat....iþ was antiìì social essentially always avoiding humans with the exception of food time
    ....when I visited his home one day....the cat jumped in my lap and fell asleep purring..his family was shockeff

    I'm neither adverse or a collector, though I have had a single cat for the most part most of my adult life. I make it a point to adopt cats who seem to or I'm told prefer to be an only cat and try to give them the opportunity to have a good life. I did have two cats for a few years until one died of old age, because we rescued her when she was abandoned by a relative in a messy divorce. I knew given my relative lived in the country that the cat, who had no idea how to survive alone outside, would probably be eaten by coyotes and being older no one would adopt her if she went to a shelter, I decided to give her a home. Fortunately, the cat already knew and liked me so it was easy for her to make the transition. Mostly I prefer the responsibility of a single cat though.

    I also like dogs, but my lifestyle doesn't support having one, though I grew up spending a lot of time on a farm with german shepherds. I will have a dog again someday, probably a mix from the pound. Hopefully one I can take hiking and such.
