How are CC stars earned?

Something that I have always found curious are the five stars next to my profile name! Knowing that I am naturally flawed..I am not deserving of 5 stars for anything and would have been
flattered with 3. It seems I am not alone in that after a quick check..I noted almost everyone has 5 star......no one with less. It made me wonder how stars are awarded?

  • It has to do with karma. I believe you have to have had maybe 5? Not sure how many karma reviews to get the star by your name

  • One would there would be diversity in the numbers...unless t stars are awarded after a milestone is reached..but what do I know

  • 1 per karma review. 5 minimum to display.

  • 5 stars for 1 karma review.......wonder if there are any penalties..can one lose a star?.

@dennis22554 5 reviews will get the pro the yellow star on the profile pic, regardless of the rating(quality).
This has nothing to do with the Karma rating but with the number of reviews. The stars for each Karma reflect the rating of that specific Karma.

Yes, five stars and a few dollars might buy you a cup of coffee.

  • Now that we got Karma out of the way, Coffee ratings are as follows:
    1-Burger King
    2-Mcdonalds
3-My Keurig (Newman's own + Heavy weeping cream)
    4-Dunkin
    5-Starbucks.

  • Wonder if left over hamburgers add the flavor..leading to the high coffee ratings?

  • I will pretend the answer to that is No.

  • I do appreciate the answer to the star question
    ....never knew the reasoning

  • Speaking of stars...is there anything better than laying on a blanket starring at the stars with someone special in your life?

  • @Sooson I'm sorry, bk coffee is awful

Best coffee is aeropress. 60 grams slightly less fine than espresso ground into standard size press, two filters, 185 degree water just past the '4'. Gentle stir, steep 3 minutes, press. Mix 1:1 with 185 degree water.

No sweetener, or cream. Perfection every time.

Of course the key is to use quality coffee beans. Mayorga is excellent.

  • I'm currently drinking cold leftover coffee from Waffle House that's been in my fridge for 2 days

  • I had to switch to decaf for health reasons. But the decaf was causing issues too. Then I discovered by accident that decaf espresso is easier on my system, in case anyone else out there has a similar issue. And I like the taste better too. I make it at home but you can order a decaf Americano at many places.

I'm shocked to hear that Burger King has anything good.

  • I just stole this sign from McDonalds, if anyone wants it.

I'm pretty sure it's a rating based on karma. I was at 3 since I started. That's all changed since I began watching the Elvis movies.

Let's see, I'm watching "Spinout," now.
"Then ya gonna know how it feels..to spinout!"

It looks like this movie inspired Speed Racer culturally.

If only there was a star system for your behavior on the forums!

@WestsideMarc Lol! That would be hilarious and I would fail it every time, my stars would drop down to purple ๐Ÿ’œ 's , blue ๐Ÿ”ต's or something. beneath the gold star โœจ standard. Lol๐Ÿ˜†

  • But I will carry my blue ๐Ÿ”ต status with pride and a big smile!๐Ÿ˜

  • Some people earn the stars the hard way:

  • [Deleted User]WriterGF (deleted user)

I believe, instead of stars, there's "timed out" and "banned."

  • @katota....
.I would respect your blue star greatly...isn't amazing how ones that judge usually the ones with their own hidden skeltons

I was thinking blue pill for a moment. mind in the gutter but your fault!!!!

Yea lol since you seem to be a bigger expert on coffee than I am, I will give it a shot without the cream and see how good (or not) it really is.

Yea not exactly your first choice for a gourmet meal but i hit them up past midnight for the double whopper so they cant cheat and have to make it fresh

  • Sending a starโญ๏ธ

  • Would love to hear more thoughts about cuddling on blanket starring at the stars on a warm Spring day...the way the stars light up the evening is amazing..unfortunately they are often taken for granted

@WriterGF If this is what youโ€™re talking about, that would actually be a great idea if there was a publicly viewable scorecard for how many times the very few CHRONIC troublemaking chaos creators and pot stirrers here were (legitimately) flagged and/or timed out. And once they reached a certain number theyโ€™d be ousted from the community!

In other words, even if their actions did not ascend to the level of being a forum felony if they had โ€œxโ€ number of misdemeanors collected theyโ€™d be banned based on that.

  • Wow..maybe a different color star could track?
