Cuddling in a van

Would you consider cuddling in a van, aka a mobile cuddle studio, given the following criteria:

  • It was with a professional who was well-established in the industry and had a good reputation
  • It was a nicely converted van with climate control and a comfortable queen-sized bed, parked in safe locations near clean public bathrooms.
  • The van was discrete and unmarked, with privacy curtains and some soundproofing for privacy.

For those of you who know me, I am not getting rid of my office locations, but I am considering adding this to my offerings in the next year or so because the price of used vans has come down, and I recently learned about the 179 tax deduction.

If I knew the Pro and likewise, absolutely!

  • @easylike So you wouldn't do this for a first session?

Only one down by the river…

But, speaking as a business thing, I know that every extra (like a custom cuddle van, and its maintenance, license, insurance, and fuel) add to the cost of the cuddling, but add nothing to the cuddling itself, unless you’re super into the smells associated with a van, an engine, and parking lots.

Personally, I would never feel safe enough in a van.

@CharlesGrove, you are right. I would probably need to charge extra for the convenience. For example, if a client lived an hour away and couldn't be bothered to come to my office and couldn't host and didn't want to pay for a hotel in their area, I could bring the van to them, but they would have to pay extra given the high costs associated with the van. However, if local business was slow and I drove to a specific area where I had 2-3 sessions lined up in a day, then I wouldn't need to charge extra.

@xandriarain: I suppose I would with a pro having multiple positive Karma's and I guess I wouldn't rule it out entirely with a 1st time cuddle based on location and a gut feeling

  • I've cuddled with a couple folks in RVs and thought it was great. Like a small apt on wheels. I was just thrilled that they wanted to spend time with me when passing through town so I would have hung out with them in a Costco if that was what was convenient for them

  • Vans are cop magnets now days.

  • @CaptainChaos lol, I was going to make a free candy joke. Maybe I should make that an incentive. "With every session in the van, you get free candy, and you get to cuddle with my puppy Cookie!" I will pull up to the client's house, roll down the window, and yell, "Get in! I have free candy!"

  • Ok, now that I am thinking more about it, I think a more practical solution may be trading in my Camry for a Sequoia so I can take the 179 deduction. I could occasionally fold down the back seats and set up an air mattress and pillows to have a mobile option for clients who cannot make it to my locations or host once in a while but primarily focus on getting business at my office locations.

  • In a camper van or something similar, absolutely. But like a regular minivan, it may not be as comfortable.

@greggerz I was thinking more like a high-top Ford Transit, but now I am starting to lean toward a Sequioa with a more temporary setup on occasion upon client request that would be primarily just used as my daily driver so I could still take that 179 deduction and only need one vehicle whereas if I had the van I would still need my Camry because it would not be practical to drive all the time.

  • @xandriarain I'd be all for it. 🤗

  • @xandriarain The only issue I'd have it personally is the lack of a convenient bathroom if the need should arise. I don't see the use of a van or other mobile cuddle cove as a pro vs. enthusiast issue. It would be the same for me (i.e. I'm fine with it).

  • As a male, I would like to have a bathroom in it.
I have traveled some with my RV fully self contained and it seems females do not like it. I have not had any issues with a male meeting for a cuddle.

@xandriarain: Does cuddling have to entail laying down? Cuddling in a car on a bench seat at a Drive in Theater would work for me, if you could find both lol

@Immersedwarmth I would definitely park it close to clean public bathrooms. However, I acknowledge it would still be inconvenient compared to cuddling indoors and having a bathroom nearby, especially if it was inclement weather. I thought about a van with a bathroom but I do not want to be tasked with emptying the waste and I like privacy when I go to the bathroom, and there wouldn't be much to block out smells and sounds in a van and it could create an awkward an uncomfortable situation for me and the client so I think it makes more sense to park near a business or public park with bathrooms and try to go before the session starts.

  • given the following criteria:

    Yes.

  • @easylike, to be honest, I need the tax deduction more than I need the additional business. Yes, I could use a few more sessions some months, but I already have plenty of options for clients, given that I have two office locations and do home visits. Most of my clients like long sessions, and they like to lie down and be comfortable. However, having the option to drive to an area an hour or two away and tap into a new market would be nice.

  • You have two poll options either, but my reply would not be that it is creepy, but just that it doesn't interest me at all. I don't think it would be as relaxing an environment as I would seek for a cuddle.

@xandriarain: After reading all the Pro & Con responses, I would have to say that your best avenue here is contact all your clients and see how they feel, and I will bet that you'll end up buying that van. Wish you the best!

  • I agree @btc13. I don’t care where other people cuddle, but vehicles are a no for me as well.

  • @easylike Most likely, the majority of my existing clients would want to continue seeing me where they have been seeing me, in my office locations or at home. The mobile cuddle option would most likely tap into a new market that is not as close to my existing locations or perhaps people who live with family or roommates and don't have cars. If I get a full on mobile cuddle studio in a dedicated van, I would want to ensure there was a market for it. However if I trade in my car for a large SUV the tax savings alone may be worth it, and any sessions in it would just be a bonus.

@xandriarain: With your Karma vouches I don't see it being a problem no matter which automobile you go with

  • That would be awesome. Speaking as a person who can't host from home and has to buy a hotel room each time for $160+ extra (not the cheap ones either because that isn't comfortable for anyone) it would be cool to pay a lil extra for a van/travel trailer as a place. It could also provide safety to the pro who prefers well-lit areas close to people and not their personal home.

I think like most things it depends on the situation and person. I met a well reviewed pro in her van and it was fine. She was a gracious host, we met at a convenient location for both of us, and there were plenty of people around for safety.

I wasn’t sure how it would turn out but now I think it was great. She’s now one of my favorite cuddle people. 😎

There’s another pro down in San Diego that I have not met but she has great karma, and makes her mobility a feature. Scenic spot cuddles, etc.

So basically my thought is it’s what you make of it.

  • My second cuddle with a particular pro was in my van in a city park. It was a dreary day until a thunderstorm moved in. The rain, pounding on the roof was quite noisy until the thunder crashed close by due to lots of lightning. That two hr cuddle was so amazing. It was just us and nature. I wish she was still cuddling!!!

  • @notinarush that sounds absolutely brilliant! I'd love that.

  • When I was a pro I offered cuddles in my private jet. one advantage over a van is that you don't need to worry about some Karen freaking out and calling the police. One time I sent the driver with the Rolls-Royce to go get the client and they ended up picking up the wrong person, But they showed up with a bunch of money, so I was like fuck it whatever. And Gordon Ramzey was on board cooking for us. was quite the session.
