Hey what's virtual cuddling? What does it entail? Is it like a zoom meeting but we're in our pajamas?
What are other people's experiences?
Usually it is like a zoom or Skype meeting. Most people love the aspect of being able to hang out and just do whatever a cuddle session can include even though there's no physical interaction due to distance,
@CuddleStella That seems to be a fair description, though admittedly I've never done one. I don't get it, but if others like it, go for it. But the term makes me scratch my head. That's like saying we are going to share a meal together ... but, you know, without the food.
What @CuddleStella said ... all of my sessions so far have been virtual. All of them have been great, I think. You get to connect with people you would normally never be able to meet under normal circumstances.
@SweetSandy feel free to message me if you have any further questions. I have no problem giving my take on it. 😄
A virtual focuses on the emotional aspect of cuddling - the attention, reassurance, talk about anything kind of vibe. It can recreate ‘some’ of the feelings of an in person cuddle - a good option if you live too far from anyone else and/or you have a hectic schedule.
It can be a call or a video chat or even texting.
It is a useful procedure for pros to vet people for in-person cuddling.
@Immersedwarmth just read your answer here. I wouldn’t necessarily virtual cuddle , yet I’ve texted cuddles. Yet I’ve shared a virtual meal together. We had the same type of meal. Doing this with a Long Distance can be helpful. I’ve also watched a movie this way.
I’ve done video, phone, and text packages. For me it’s just a little getaway or distraction from the daily grind with the comfort of a friendly voice and face. My last job was insanely intense and time consuming. So the virtuals helped tremendously. Just interacting with someone new makes a difference
@Bear I'm assuming your virtual meal involved food. I suppose if the parties involved in a virtual cuddle were hugging themselves or something like that, I could see why it could still be called a "virtual cuddle." I'm not saying what is being called a virtual cuddle doesn't have it's merits. I'm simply saying it's missing an essential, and perhaps by definition the most essential, element of a cuddle. I feel like I have to repeat what I've said ... if someone enjoys a "virtual cuddle," more power to them. Live and let live.
@Bear I used to do that with movies. I'd get on the phone with a friend, and we'd start the movie at the same time and stay on the phone through the whole thing.
@Immersedwarmth I agree with you about virtual cuddling. It’s missing the most essential part. I just re-read your statement. I was thinking you said, share a meal without the food as in being by yourself and separate meals. Not no meals whatsoever. My bad.
We got to 7 before the inevitable comment popped up ...
@Bear no worries. And I must say, I appreciate you taking the time to say what you did. My experience here has been that most wouldn't. Or worse, they would distort what was said to fit their own narrative. So, much appreciated.
Never did it. Was strictly against it. Now im open to it. Go figure.
A virtual cuddle is a fallacy because cuddling by definition requires physical contact. What is being offered is a video call. No more.
I agree with this. Video calls are a useful way to get acquainted with someone, and allows pros to screen their clients a bit better. But not a substitute for cuddling in my opinion.
A lot of people like doing late night phone calls or video calls to just have someone to talk to and be very relaxed with someone who won't judge them for what they share. I've had sessions where we also have listened to music or watched videos together. Most of them consisted of people talking about their day or feelings and just having that judgement free zone
The times I have been asked for virtual sessions, the cuddler has described the experience as “playful” and let’s see where it takes us. I also agreed to one and the guy I believe was naked and when he realized I had clothes on he put the camera just to his face. He ended the call two minutes later when he realized I wasn’t going to participate. Yes I reported them. Unfortunately these are the types of people reaching out to me and it’s very disheartening.
I think that understanding virtual cuddling might be better if filtered under the lens of companionship rather than cuddling.
@stormydaycuddle Welcome back. You have been sorely missed.
@TheFunCartel thank you I’m back to help the site. 🤓 i’ve missed everyone too. ☺️😁
@stormydaycuddle exactly! 💯
I have done a bunch of in person and virtual sessions. The physical tough of the in person is great, as a full time single parent I’m glad I have options like virtual where I can still have a great conversation and laughs and get to learn about someone else though we can’t have that session in person.
