How important are profile pictures to you?

edited May 2025 in General

I recently joined this website. I don't live in a highly populated area, and part of me is worried that because my profile pictures are admittedly not that great, nobody will want to reach back out. I just took two mirror selfies without a ton of thought.

I also have been told countless times that I look younger than my age. I guess it's perfect for avoiding people who are not platonic, but at the same time, I can't help but question if the way I look is going to be a big impact on my success on the platform.

I feel like i look how I am as a person if that makes sense, so the look fits, but who knows. Maybe I'm hideous or seem creepy in the pictures i have.

I guess I'm just unsure what the best way to go about choosing profile pictures, or deciding to keep them or not is. Are they important? Are mine genuinely fine? I don't feel as though I fully know.

I don't feel comfortable paying for pros right now, so my only option is to maximize my profile I guess?

  • For me, no profile pic means a skip. Especially most people without pics also have no profile to speak of. For me, the pic doesn't need to be of you. It should be something that represents you or shows your interests. Anything but blank.

As for your profile, you have it filled out nicely, your pic is good, it says something about you. Just be aware that female enthusiasts are few and far between and are vastly outnumbered by men, many of whom are creeps. Their inboxes are usually full of "hi how are you" messages and worse.

I don't remember what I had to do to get my profile pic to show up in the forums. I think I had to set it to the primary picture.

@IronLemon I can't seem to find how to set something as a primary picture. I have one of them starred if that is what you mean?

I'm glad my profile seems okay. I agree, no picture of any kind is probably worth skipping

There might be a lot of creeps on here but i am really glad that this platform seems to take things so seriously in regards to that

I don't care about profile pics of humans. Now if your profile pic is a fox or something, well, that's the good stuff.

    Edit----
I suppose to better answer your question, you will have an increased chance of finding a cuddler if you have a pic up as some people require it. But you won't have no chance without one as there are also many people like me who don't care.

  • @JasonCuddles that makes sense

    Side note

    I like your dog

I don't mind if there's no profile pic. As I don't have one of myself. I do like it when the profile has info & an intro.

I usually share a pic once a conversation is going & a possible cuddle session is being setup. I prefer to get to know someone a bit beforehand anyway.

Edit: Your smiling profile pic & intro are good.

  • @MTex

Thank you! I guess if i lived somewhere more populated I may have had someone reach out? I feel like I've done all I can. Nobody really lives here and uses this website unfortunately

There is only 1 non pro woman around here who has been active in the last week hahah. There isn't much going on

  • I live in a city but haven't had any success connecting with anyone here. I've had to travel to a bigger city in another state to get a cuddle session.

  • For me, it’s not as important to have a profile pic as it is to send a picture before we meet. I don’t like to be “surprised” by who is behind door #1. Also, I think it’s a safety precaution. Unfortunately, a client I met recently just sent a photo he got off the internet. I was not pleased with that at all.

  • Hey friend, since you are soliciting feedback, I would say that your photos are not the best but they are certainly not the worst. Swapping out a photo is super easy and maybe just have someone take it for you. But not a big deal.

IMO your profile copy is fine, double check for the typo, but at 22 I don’t think you need to offer an ID as your first words of introduction. (if you really feel strongly that someone is going to think that you’re under 18, which I don’t think would happen but if it does, I would maybe just suggest you putting that at the tail end of your profile not the beginning. Maybe word it something like “I know I look young but I’m happy to provide an ID upon request.)

As far as not wanting to pay for a professional, I totally get it, but even living in Los Angeles here with literally over 10 million people, it’s very difficult to find a fellow enthusiast. I did a search for your city and as suspected, there’s not really a lot so if your budget will allow, I would try to open yourself up to the concept of using professionals. I never wanted to, but I finally acquiesced.

Anyhoo, you sound like a nice guy. I wish you luck here my friend.

@WestsideMarc Thank you. You're right about the ID thing

I did that because someone recommended it. I'll go with your example.

As for the pictures, I agree. They probably are not the best. I'm starting to feel like I should delete my account to be honest. It's not because of the pictures. It's because I am beginning to feel as though I'm kind of silly for being on here in some ways.

I just have a hard time asking people I know IRL to cuddle 😅. Plus, it feels like the people on here are those who really need it.

Oh well. I appreciate the reply to my discussion here

  • @WestsideMarc Actually, looking at your profile makes me wonder if I should update mine to be just as detailed. I feel as though mine goes a bit all over the place

  • @Brayyy

I just have a hard time asking people I know IRL to cuddle

It's definitely a lot harder to ask people when you don't know how they'll react. Especially with how difficult it is for people to believe that platonic means platonic.

Plus, it feels like the people on here are those who really need it.

If you didn't, you wouldn't have joined.

@Brayyy it’s certainly a process here like anywhere else, but I would encourage you to stick with it. Like anything else in life you have to take the good with the bad but I have had some absolutely extraordinary experiences. My profile happens to be pretty long some people like that some people don’t but if you PM me your number and a good time to call, I’d be happy to give you an assist.

I’ll even help you write or modify your profile if you like, but whatever you do don’t delete your account. It costs nothing to stay on the platform and you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

  • I had the most luck finding non-pro cuddlers to cuddle with often via attending a cuddle party

  • You can't go wrong with a Joy Division T-shirt!

  • My whole family lives in your town coincidentally.

Yeah, I don’t have a profile pic for lack of desire to be seen here by people I know and I’ve accepted that I’m only going to be able to get with pros due to that.

Your profile pic seems good though. People like a friendly smile and a welcoming disposition. From my own searching habits I think it’s actually quite important because you’re a blank slate and now you’re trying to appeal to someone. I sort by “has picture” in my searches. from which I can glance at many people and click on one that catches my eye.

  • I don't mind if there isn't a profile picture but I post myself because I don't believe in catfishing potential cuddle enthusiasts. I want you to see me.

  • @cuddlyDavid Hahah thanks David! I checked your profile. You seem like a really cool guy

  • @Brayyy I think it is more correct to say that the people here are those who need it, or those who want to provide it.

  • I always think its best to be as transparent as possible.....although I can hesitations

  • The profile pics are a consideration for me, but what makes the best impression are the profile details, and even more so, the karma entries. The more karma, the more informed I feel.

  • I definitely prefer profiles that have pictures and are filled out as opposed to no pics and a blank (or only a sentence or two) profiles. And since I have this preference, I tried with mine even though it may be a bit long. That being said, I understand feeling discouraged, as it is difficult connecting to women enthusiasts that aren't far away from me. Most of the cuddles I have had are with pros, which I think the good karma did help with adding a layer of trying to get a response. At least that was my reasoning for giving in to hiring pros at first. They've been great, but have me wishing I was wealthy to be able to book more often than I'm financially able to.

  • @CSnMUS87

I feel like in most cases especially as a male or if hardly anyone lives near you, paying is probably what we will have to rely on.

I respect it, but for me personally, I don't think I would pay. It's nothing against anyone though. I just don't think I would pay for it. I would have a more enjoyable time grabbing sushi with a friend, or going to an amusement park with the money hahah.

I would rather just be available for those who genuinely need some comfort in their life and are on here looking for something like that

  • I don’t have a profile pic because I ask for interpretive finger paintings of what I look like. Usually I get piles of blobs painted in fecal brown on canvas.

  • @TheFunCartel I think your pic conveys that I can see right through you.

  • @TheFunCartel I miss your droopy plane pic. Some cc members have similar one to yours and I have to do a double look to see if it’s you 😆

  • Your profile seems genuine, and thoughtful. I appreciate it, hope you find what you search for.

  • @NikkiFM Thank you so much!

You seem really genuine as well. I took a look at your profile

I hope you find what you search for, too

  • I'm 58 yo and can tell you that age is not an issue especially if you already stated it on your profile as they see the photo.. I think the more info you're willing to provide including that people tell you you look younger in your photo the better. I think people avoid putting their photo cause they need to be discreet with family or friends.
Too bad you don't have a population near you. As you meet people who are nice enough to give you karma, it can make future connections easier cause it helps new acquaintances feel safer.
Where i have problems is connecting with non pros. They are far and few in between with hardly any profiles or photos which sends a message that they are not serious about meeting others. Often , they are not active for weeks to months. On the other hand , especially the recently active with karma tend to respond very quick especially if they sense that you are serious about meeting.
Consider searching Pros who charge within your budget and live a decent distance from you. Im confident that would make an awesome introductory experience for you. Read their karma.

  • As an enthusiast, I am inundated with requests so I ask for a photo with eyes visible so that I can gauge the "vibe" match. At this point, I also require someone has attended a consent workshop at a cuddle party.
