What is your guilty pleasure?

edited July 2018 in General

I have many, as any good pleasure is a guilty one, but for some reason, whenever I hear 80's rock I get this nostalgic feeling and all amped up. I could never admit to it in my punk rock youth and hardcore hey day, but some Def Leppard or Poison or Bon Jovi sure gets me feeling kinda giddy!!

I usually don't feel guilty about anything I enjoy. I feel I deserve it. Maybe one exception was once when I called into work sick and I wasn't really sick, I spent the entire day just lounging around. The next day my boss asked "Are you feeling better?", that's when the guilt surfaced - but not for long.

  • Indulgent pleasures, like splashing my feet in the kiddie pool, gelato, and sushi on someone else's dime are my top guilty pleasures.

  • Guacamole from scratch: avacados, Kosher salt, lemon juice, a dash of olive oil, minced green onion, minced serrano chiles, chopped cilantro, dash of black pepper, and chopped tomatoes.

Note, there is ZERO guilt involved.

  • @Sideon - That's not a guilty pleasure, that's health food!!

  • LOLOLOLOL ----> @BlueIris, well, not in the quantities that I eat it!

  • Cheesy movies / tv shows... Italian Castelvetrano olives--I could eat an entire container on my own, no problem... trashy fantasy romance (especially if it's of the "Our love will SAVE THE WORLD" variety, I know, it's terrible and ridiculous and I love it) ... Disney movies... nightcore playlists... that white cheese dip you get in mexican restuarants sometimes... outshine fruit bars.. good barbeque... dark humor... addictive mobile games...

    I could go on. xD

  • @Sideon I was with you until the serrano chiles and tomatoes... I can't do chiles unless it's like... powdered and I can't do raw tomato, my body is just not a compliant fan of either. Otherwise, sounds delicious.

  • I don't typically watch reality TV, but have seen every episode of this new show, and I'm not even sure why!

  • I love Pop/EDM Music, and Nightcore. ?

I don't feel guilty about though.

  • @Lovelight You do? OoO Yay! Another nightcore fan...! I’m always so pleased when I meet another person who both knows what it is and likes it.

  • @Lorelei You can skip the peppers - and tomatoes. I grew a nice batch this summer and the bounty has been splendid.

  • I don't know if it's considered EDM but I like this Shuffle Dance music and the dance moves are really cool:

  • Lately it’s been chewy chips ahoy cookies... gahhh, i should probably stop buying so many lol

  • Sharing a thin crust, sausage & garlic pizza, with a friend.

    Duhh... Cuddling, of course!

(muttering... I can't believe I'm the first person to say, "cuddling". but then maybe it's not a "guilty", pleasure for others. grinning) (working on the guilt thingy.)

    Dried fish ?

  • Got another one! So there's this place in Bellflower, CA called Fronk's... pulled pork cheeseburger and also their mac and cheese with pulled pork. ALL OF THEIR PULLED PORK

i can eat that for days

  • All bout that reality TV life xD

  • @gallowglass {howimissyou} and @sideon; thanks. Now I'm hungry. For bacon AND guacamole!
Ugh, @stellarosass. YES, pulled pork is my ultimate. Mac and cheese??? Ugh. I need to go make a sandwich with pork and mac n cheese.

@lovelight & @Lorelei oh yes! Best music ever. I love to feel my music more than listen to it. Total body experience.

Music, I actually like screamo, whichever discipline you choose I don't care, if you are screaming those lyrics I'm whipping my hair and feeling it. Turns out I actually can sing death/dark/yada yada metal. Not something I enjoy on a regular basis though. I'd rather listen and rock out than sing.

Music. Music is my guilty pleasure. Loud, heavy, bassy, I need to feel it in every fiber of my body. Worship, old school, Everlast, Donovan Frakenreiter, Sturgill Simpson, Lauren Daigle.

  • Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. Umm, Christmas movies year round too ?

My job takes me all over northern Indiana. I like to find small local eateries on my lunch break. You really get the "flavor" of the community because most of the people who eat there are local, daily customers who interact with each other and the staff in a familiar, friendly atmosphere.

@tea_n_biscuits I agree! Oh more power to you for admitting that. I absolutely hate that I'm such a sap for those movies. But who can resist them?! ?

Reality shows im addicted to hoarders, 90 day fiancee, my 600 lb life. I also love mel brooks movies like The Producers and my all time favorite cheesy movie Valley of the Dolls. Love the scene with Patty Duke in the alley as a fallen singing star screaming "IM NEELY OHARA" velveeta starts dripping from the tv

@tea_n_biscuits and @SweetPeaMN - one of my favourites is "A Christmas Detour". The full movie is on Youtube:

  • I smoke one clove cigarette every autumn. ?

@iamkimmyp , you have the best answers! You are a great addition to the threads. I've only been here two weeks myself but it seems more flavorful with you seasoning things! Thank you.

But come on people! Doesn't guacamole with crispy bacon mixed in sound amazing?? =)

  • Cheap cigars.

Perusing thrift stores for kitchen ware and appliances. The guilty part is: I also find dresses and shoes/heels that perhaps can make wonderful gifts for someone someday.

  • @Lorelei & @Lovelight and hooray for Nightcore! That got me through High School, I tell you lol
