I don't know who else is having some major anxiety right now but... I feel like we need each other now more than ever! That is all.
Couldn’t agree more. Sometimes a good friend in live helps out soooo much.
Almost everyday. But I manage. Part of the reason why I’m a pro cuddler is because I want to help those who might be going through their own struggles.
World events (bites tongue to remain within TOS) have certainly got me on edge. Seen a lot in my 50 yrs on this earth, and this is the only time I can recall feeling truly unsettled and overwhelmed by it all, and not really seeing a point where it will slow down or stop any time soon.

@gr8AZvibe what you just did to the gentleman above you was further indicating my concern. You could have stated how you felt in a way that was from you but instead you reworded what he wrote and it's like you tried to deligitimize his concerns by the fact you are older. Your generation and people older have been taught a bunch of stuff that we also learned but we learned why you were taught it and it's been from the beginning a tool of separation.... I actually just learned this week where the term keeping up with the Jones came from.... Its our national obsession with pure blood pedigree etc... the type of stuff that inspired Germany. We should learn from our past mistakes and you guys should be pointing it out... Not allowing or encouraging it, I feel like it must come from just not having access to as much information... Maybe my anxiety is because I have Too much information.... Either way, I wish you the best... But please don't underpin others with your comments. I'm POSITIVE you can say things without doing that to someone else.
@beachguy1980 @CuddlesWithCat @pmvines thank you. I hope you find peace and people to share your thoughts feelings and fears with over coming days. Cuddles I'm a pro for the same reason, although I can say the past few days I could probably use my own services... Lol hugs everyone.
Yes FS. Doesn’t help that things seem generally quite unstable rn
I'm half way across the country as I watch my little ( 46 yrs old) brother dying in the ICU. I know no one, I'm lost, and I'm helpless.
So yeah, I understand.
@ladybug7 unfortunately yes anxiety and stressed at the only period in my life when I don't have a partner to snuggle up to daily (my choice )for me it's a defense mechanism to be alone. I have children and grandchildren to keep me sane.
@LetsCuddle44 Oh no I'm so sorry. That's so hard. 😞
@LetsCuddle44 I’m so sorry you’re going through this with your brother. Wishing you strength and comfort during such a hard time.
Yes .. struggling pretty heavily lately. Been working on a gratitude journal lately though and it's helping. Along with yoga, meditation, and breath work.
@LetsCuddle44 so sorry to hear about your brother and that you feel you know no one. Hugs and cuddles for you ! 🫂
@nickl81 I think that’s a great idea about the gratitude journal.
Yup
Yes. Having a really hard time tonight.
Been crying for days now 😭 absolutely feel lost
Virtual hugs to all on this thread!! Been feeling some type of way for a few days now, too 🤗🫂
I see you @KittyPukka @Ambie694 @Analyticalace89 and really everyone else ❤️🫶🥺🥰🫂🫂
Nothings been the same post covid.
People drive like lunatics now, more than before.
Public freakouts much more commonplace.
Last five years I'm noticing a lot of mistakes (never in my favor) when it comes to billing/charging for stuff. Have to watch that stuff like a hawk.
Overall service industry now has some really lousy employees many places. Part of it from what I can tell is Gen Z entering the workforce. They grew up almost entirely on screens, many are not accustomed to human interaction. Lord help us when Gen Alpha enters the workforce.
@wilderdude it's funny you say that. I worked in food service 20plus years prior to Covid. Going through that was insane. I had been at the same place for something like 12 years and had to leave because it got to be too much. I used to LOVE my job. During Covid we worked short staffed, twice as much business and had angrier customers and my employer saw fit to give our tips away to someone who came to help under the table. Lost one co worker to cancer that had been fighting it so hard for ten years.... There was so much screaming at my job to get things perfect because there was a second for error...the tension is something I still feel. I had seizures from the stress. Nothing has been the same since Covid. I think every person has scars of some sort. It changed people fundamentally and not in a good way. We in return MUST be more gentle, patient and kind with one another because we have the awareness of this and they might not. It doesn't however make it easier but having this here might. Thank you 🫶
I understand when events involving someone in one's circle (family member, friend, etc) cause oneself to struggle or have problems. After all, taking someone into your life involves sharing troubles, and yes, such troubles can give any of us reason to struggle (especially some of the specific examples given by others in this thread).
But I must confess that I do not understand how world events can cause the same responses. I've always viewed such events as being beyond one's control, and so not something to stress out about. Even when I was deployed to a shooting war, the events outside my immediate area didn't really matter to me.
That's just how I was raised, and I haven't seen a compelling reason to let the rest of the world (beyond the people who are "in my world") raise my blood pressure or get me down. Besides, the people in my world provide stress, drama, etc, aplenty and I suspect that this is true for most people. Life's difficult enough without internalizing the rest of the worlds problems.
@Jubal you know that's probably why you were able to be in combat. I'm not sure what about us is epigenetic or learned in this lifetime either from intentional lessons vs our environment. I would love to be able to let things go like that. There have been times I have been able to. I do believe that what I'm dealing with may be something primal. Its part of the fight or flight system.... some of us are able to identify threats actively categorize them and move accordingly... I think my body sees the threat and is going full opossum/hognose snake... 😂 Its just freaking out on me. I have the rational thoughts in my head.... Its recognition of patterns, seeing threats and seeing suffering. It definitely can cause a feeling in the air that some of us are more sensitive to than others. I'm really happy for you that you don't have to be tuned into that all the time. 🙂 Sounds blessed.
But I must confess that I do not understand how world events can cause the same responses. I've always viewed such events as being beyond one's control
Not that difficult to understand considering people are not homogenous and not everyone believes and acts the same as you. And some do believe they can affect change and that what happens outside of one’s burgh is the concern of all. I would say it depends where you fall on the empathy spectrum at the moment.
@Jubal
For me, it is less about how the world impacts me individually and more about how it affects others. I fully recognize that I'm more privileged than others and therefore my life is not going to be impacted as much as someone else's may be. But I still am very much bothered by the things that I see going on in our country. Whether it indirectly or directly impacts me or not.
As someone who daily holds space for and actively supports a group of people as my line of work, it has been a very difficult time. Being an empath, the heightened emotions, anxieties, worries, and even fear, pour out of others and my capacity to move that energy is being overwhelmed or even drowned at times. I do all I can to keep my head above water some days or weeks. Living in an area that does not have a lot of active cuddlers is a bummer, because the couple of sessions I have had were really energy giving. I just keep trying to share peace, hope and especially love and do my little part in hopes of making this a better place to be, even if it’s only for one person. But I feel what many of you are saying. My heart feels you and I see you.
I don't seem to be overwhelmed or even underwhelmed. I guess I am just whelmed..
Having empathy for people you do not see, know, or are close to is not an easy thing to deal with. It's actually really stressful, but I don't think I would turn it off if I could.
There are a lot of people suffering right now, and a lot of people cheering on that suffering and pushing for even more. Those people don't care about the bad things happening to other people until it happens to them. It's selfish. It's a real indicator of a lack of education and a me-first society in a lot of different regions of this country and world.
The complete lack of ability to do anything about it is awful. Sure, we can contribute in smaller, still important ways.
Anyways I think my tl;dr is yeah I agree with you, @ladybug7 . The fact there is someone in this very thread showing a lack of compassion is just really unfortunate. Appreciate you calling that dude out.
@mulftor @ladybug7 I hope both of you find your version of peace. And despite all the anxiety, empathy is a good thing and many of us see you and do understand that there is a whole world that is wonderful and wicked, good and evil, and attractive and terrifying. Right now, so much of the world is hateful and selfish that it is understandable why many people are struggling. I wish everyone that feels this way so much peace that it makes my heart ache.
I have to second @TheFunCartel. He has described my life experiences and those of a large number of people. So many of us have been through hell several times. As for me I am thankful I finally found the right therapist a few years ago. Anyone who might need someone to talk with just DM me. I am not a therapist but I can listen with empathy and understanding. Peace to all of us.
