How you decided to be a cuddler?

How everything started for you as a cuddler? Especially the ones who are pro. How you felt taking that step and you experience with very first customer?

  • Obviously I'm not a pro, I don't remember how I stumbled across this website years ago but my main love language is touch, I've only met up with one person but in the near future plan on possibly setting up a cuddle session, I've met a few people on here that I find interesting.

  • I was scared. I was very very scared, lol. But my fears were unneeded.

I first signed up a year ago when a friend of mine in school told me about being a pro-cuddler. But, I have been involved with many forms of healing, alternative and traditional, and it seemed like a natural step.

I had one appointment immediately, a very polite and fun gentleman who was easy to talk to. The next weekend I had surgery, then promptly forgot CC existed, and now that my life has slowed a touch, I am back about a week now I think.

  • I was very lonely after my wife and I separated. In 2010 To be honest I was lonely while we were together, lol. She would never be up for being intimate and a few times when I tried to Cuddle, she said her skin was too sensitive and would choose a book over me.

I found out about Cuddle parties in 2013. They were great. This is where I learned when holding space for somebody is. As well as working on myself to improve myself and respect boundaries. I already respected boundaries with the energy healing I did. Cuddling in groups I learned a lot more, and it was brought up to another level. After being there for a while, I also would assist the facilitator and help when needed.
Some of the other participants would mention other apps where you could get or find cuddle partners or cuddle buddies. I believe CuddleComfort is the only one left. I’ve been on here since 2013. I had connected with a very limited amount of people back then. Around 2014 is when my mom went into the hospital for what turned out to be cancer. I was in caregiver mode and was constantly busy until she passed away. Then I kind of just Disappeared socially. Plus, I had really bad arthritis in my knee so I wasn’t even looking to get out of the house. 2019 I had my first knee replacement and then my other leg in February 2020. I’ve been pretty active on here ever since.

At on point I thought about going pro. Then I found out there really isn’t a market for it.

  • I'm also not a pro but my first cuddle was with one. I was actually his first client. He was more nervous than I was, which made my nerves melt away. It was a great first cuddle! I felt safe, comfortable, & present.

I learned about cuddling from a quirky movie called Suze. I thought platonic cuddling was the perfect answer to what I had been needing. I crave human touch. There's nothing like the feeling of being held. I enjoy the connection that comes from an embrace. Now that I am part of this little niche in the world I can't imagine going back to no contact again. 🫂

  • My friend told me about pro cuddling in... maybe 2019? She thought I would be good at it. I remember thinking, huh... that's... weird. But in 2020 I had a realization about touch (due to covid, of course).. I asked her what websites she used and dove in. I nearly quit immediately after having some pretty horrible experiences, but had a couple awesome people and one of my clients paid for a session with a longtime pro so I could get some intel on vetting and such.

2012 was not a great year for me and was also the last time I had a genuine cuddle. Most years since then I probably had single digit hugs per year. I’m a little too polite for the go go go of dating apps(I think anyhow) and work life balance has been waaaaay out of bounds the last 5 years.

I don’t drink or do drugs, my friends who form cuddle piles don’t invite me because I’m a guy(understandable) and many of my other friends only want to interact with each other online after 2020. I thought I could truck on without touch. I thought I could handle just doing my own thing by myself. I had no idea how much I was struggling because I lacked these things.

I found cuddlecomfort by accident this year and decided to give it a go. I’ve only done one cuddle and it has entirely changed how I handle stress and loneliness. It was TRANSFORMATIVE. I cannot express how much I needed to be held and hold someone or to have that connection for a time. I was starving.

Sadly, merely asking a friend for feedback on going through with this seems to have lost me that friend and I very much just wish they would have talked it out with me. 😔

But anyhow, I’m planning something in July and something in August and I hope it keeps healing me. That’s why I decided to become a cuddler.

  • Bill Nye the Science guy! He did a segment on the benifit of platonic cuddles on "Bill Nye Saves the World" It's not in the series view anymore but I think you can still find it on youtube.

  • I had just gotten out of a bad relationship about 9 months prior. I missed touch I asked my best friend to cuddle me, he laughed and told me absolutely not! About two weeks later we where on the phone when he sent me another site, I toyed with the idea scared for about 3 weeks, then decided to join. From there I had my first cuddle session booked for that day. The person I met was an amazing soul, he guided me through a lot. When I got there he had incense going and candles and meditation music it was bliss! I started researching everything about cuddling. The rest is just history. I’ve learned a lot some good and some bad.

  • I made sure I got trained and certified from the jump. If you haven't, you don't know what you don't know and you're missing out on the support that being a trained pro brings. I have an affiliate code if you need one!

  • It only came naturally to me from dating. When I first heard of cuddle therapy I was really baffled by it - the idea of some random stranger just cuddling with you for a fee. I signed up for CC first back in 2021 but because I couldn’t afford cuddle sessions back then and I got into a relationship, I didn’t start doing cuddle sessions until June of last year. Since then though I did more and more cuddles and am loving it.

  • Morbid curiosity 😂
I like to investigate things that are counter culture, "weird" or otherwise reputationally challenged.

  • I love cuddling and saw an article about it. I figured if I could pay my bills by doing something I love--cuddling, making new friends, holding space, laughing, etc. that was a win win. I was super excited with my first client!

  • Shits and giggles. Ended up being a great and unique way to meet folks.

  • I didn't know such a thing existed as a professional cuddler until a friend mentioned it to me. She knew my situation and that I was suffering from touch deprivation.
So I asked Google and found CC. I was apprehensive at first. I wasn't sure if I could pay someone to share something that came so naturally to me.
After a couple connections with enthusiasts, I decided to try a pro, and after that it became clear to me there was a definite difference between the two and understood the cost associated.
I have made great connections and friends here and am so appreciative of this community.

Well, the IDEA 🧠🫂of cuddling started on "the site that cannot be named" within ONE of the cuddling discussion groups there.😊
Then in another (non-cuddling related) discussion group I chatted with another member on said site who I mentioned about meeting people without sexual purposes being "the goal" my actual words were "just cuddling would be great" and said member mentioned CC...It took me over a year or 2 yrs to actually decide to check it out here, and then I eventually joined as a Cuddle Enthusiast! 😁🫂
