Back to School Social!

Pavillion reserved 10 am - 2 pm
Concord park, Farragut, TN
Double Decker Pontoon reserved 3-7:30 pm (up to 14 passengers)

Meet & greet in Knoxville, TN for August 9

I held a mini-snuggle at this park earlier this month and it will be an excellent venue for a larger gathering with cookout space, tables, volleyball, lakefront, paddle board / kayak rentals, and I will bring a few tents.

If people are spending the night and would like ideas for Sunday activities please let me know! Also can make suggestions nearby and inexpensive places to stay.

    Per @OhioMike I'm going to check into a nearby hotel that will let us takeover the lobby in the evenings for pizza and games etc

    Some ideas for Sunday:
    Tubing the river in Townsend, TN / Great Smoky Mountains
    Dollywood
    A second boating outing
    Downtown Knoxville-lunch, murals, market square, Sunsphere, UTK campus
    Biking Urban Wilderness
    Hiking IJams outdoor center/Tennessee River/Quarry

    I called the Fairfield Inn at Turkey Creek (11763 Snyder Rd, Knoxville, TN 37932) and if the group is staying there the lobby is available for pizza/games etc. this is a new, clean property with good reviews. That area (Turkey Creek all the way up to Cedar Bluff) is closest to the park and I will ask one of the attendees to pick up the ball on the lodging. There is every brand of hotel in the universe in that little area and I know everyone has their points and loyalties.

    I’m gonna see if I can make it. It’s about a 8 Hour Dr. and I gotta make sure I get a hotel that will take dogs.

    Anyone have any suggestions for games? I have a few family friendly board games but that's for smaller groups. I was thinking charades and other party games. I'm also trying to learn Tarot. So it doesn't offend anyone,I can do it away from the group if anyone is interested in a reading. (100% free of course) feel free to dm me anytime.

    Catch phrase is my go to group game! But I am sure there are other fun ones that have been invented in the past 20 years. There is also a pretty legendary line dancing place around the corner and some great karaoke in downtown Knox if peeps arrive Friday.

    @VitaminJ did you say karaoke? Love me some karaoke 🎤 little over an 8-hour drive for me and if I'm working Friday, probably won't be there till Saturday. Bummer for me. But we will see when August brings.

    @VitaminJ that Fairfield inn (Marriott Rewards) looks pretty good and has lots of amazing reviews too It’s close to park like you said and it’s right on the main drag ! I like the idea 👍

    If anyone lives in a city that Allegiant flies from they come to Knoxville and are pretty inexpensive. SR182 I checked and they have a Den-TYS flight for the 7th-10th for $101!

    Booked my flight, I’ll be in town Aug 8-10. Really looking forward to meeting everyone! Of course I’ll be at the meet & greet on the 9th, but almost certainly heading up to the Smokeys for hiking on either 8 or 10, so if anyone wants to join for that let’s get a group!
