Just got back from supermarket shopping. Every time I shop there is something I cannot find, and there is no-one to ask. Could not find pizza sauce! Also, it looks like they have discontinued the LImeade which was my favourite drink. All they have now are several kinds of lemonade. Grrrr!

Waking up with a protein shake, listening to my roommate play Minecraft with his 10 year old and to the 4 year old playing the bathtub. Hoping this queasiness will pass so I can go to church.
ETA: No church. I'm better, but the 4 year old dumped a full bottle of shampoo EVERYWHERE and cleaning up that mess took too long. The whole house smells of watermelon!
@Ixyavi Wow. The Drive-in Movie is a blast from the past. As kids, it was a cheap night out for our parents, as we usually fell asleep after the cartoons and a little popcorn. When my older sister was dating and watching little brother at the same time, she and her date would hide me under a blanket on the floor of the backseat to avoid paying for my admission. As an older teen/ young adult, well, you can only imagine. In the 1970’s the drive-ins started to disappear to the point that there is only one left that is near enough to even consider visiting. Some institutions don’t live forever.
Coming back to earth.

I'm recovering from being given a quote to remove the tree that fell on my roof in last night's storm.
I can understand why you have to pay a princely sum to get some lanky guy with no sense of fear to go up 40 feet and trim the dead branches in a tree. I can understand the costs associated with taking down a tree that is wedged between buildings that you don’t want to damage. But when a tree is down or nearly down, why does it cost an arm and leg to cut it up and dispatch it to the mulch pile?
@mickcuddle - this is an enormous tree and they have to bring a crane to get it off my roof. After that I still have to get my roof repaired. And I have an even bigger tree a bit further down, you can see it in the photo. $3000 to remove the downed one, $3500 to remove the still standing one.
I have an associate who just had a huge American Elm taken down because of the amount of deadwood and the fact that heavy limbs threatened rooves of his garage and his an a neighbor’s houses. He had to take a home equity loan to pay for the removal it was so expensive. {Note: an American Elm is rare in this area. At one time I’d estimate we had as many American Elms as all the varieties of Maple. Then came Dutch Elm Disease, and it killed trees so quickly that most municipalities just cut them all down rather than waiting for them to die). Have you ever cuddled one of those tree trimmers who does all the climbing while his coworkers just clean up the stuff he cuts? I bet he (or she, I guess) could use the serenity of a safe pair of arms.
