Temperment

There's no way this topic hasn't come up already, but communication is HUGE in "this" environment. I don't understand why some people find it so impossible to ask clarifying questions or to give the benefit of a doubt, then leave cross/nasty messages and block someone as if that's a healthy way of approaching the situation- Especially when it's someone new here. It's scary because so many people are "unhinged" these days- I'm beginning to believe a lack of healthy communication is the cause of that. Emotional intelligence I-S a thing!!

Agreed 100%. Communication is the #1 skill I think people should have. It has helped a ton especially on a professional/business level.

Social media tends to attract people who have no social skills.

You'll find dozens of people here advocate for blocking without explanation.

In this digital age, we can "delete" people from our lives with the click of a button, and I think it's very unhealthy, and absolutely compounds our communication issues. Real life doesn't work that way, real problems aren't solved that way.

Communication is vital, it's how we all learn and have the opportunity to grow, as well as the obvious - simply understand each other.

Unfortunately, many people who are drawn to this site lack social skills, and it will always be that way. The ability to bypass making an organic connection by paying someone for cuddles is always going to appeal to those who struggle in that area. Some have a great attitude about it, and want to learn. Others come at it with a sense of entitlement.

  • It's a lot like real life.

Part of the reason people block with no explanation is something I have brought up before here (and sorry to be a broken record), "engage and enrage." In real life or online, rejecting someone risks producing negative responses. It's the reason companies reject candidates using "no reply" email addresses. Nobody wants or needs to provoke angry outbursts, especially from complete strangers on the Internet.

  • @great_pillow08 I agree. Patience, communication, and intellectual honesty are key, in every environment.

One element that jumps out is that it is so easy to find “echo chambers” that repeat back and validate currently held opinions. Social media has this programmed into it.

I’ve seen people react with smugness and satisfaction inside their chambers, then quickly shift to shock, disbelief, and even anger when confronted with a different opinion.

It rocks them and they react instead of listen.

For cuddling, especially if they have a great need, paired with any insecurities at all, added on top of being unused to healthy discussion, and it’s a recipe for erratic behavior.

  • @great_pillow08 Welcome to the new normal. You know you can always drop me a line if you are frustrated, but I think you already know that.

    .

  • I had a pro message me, unsolicited (no i had never looked at their profile), asking if id be interested in booking a session that day. I politely declined and wished them good luck. They asked why I declined, and before I could answer they blocked me.

  • @LetsCuddle44 please Report them if you haven't already. None of that is ok, and in particular unsolicited contact from a professional is against the terms of service.

Having said that, you probably dodged a bullet and if it was more than a few days ago I bet they are banned already.

  • I had somebody message me accusing me of being racist in the forums then blocked me. To this day, I still don't know what I said that was racist.

  • @LetsCuddle44 As someone who visits Florida several times a year for business, Florida attracts a lot of transient cuddlers who have an agenda, do it for a quick buck, or just plain out ignore the rules because it is a short term gig for them. I know of two pros I contacted over the years that straight up said they were cuddling to subsidize their vacation. So what you described does not surprise me.

  • To clarify a few points, blocking someone is not a reportable offense. Trying to go around a mutual or one-way block IS reportable, however. Whether enthusiast or Pro, no one has to explain why they do block, they don't owe anyone an explanation, regardless of however you feel about them or your idea of them. Unsolicited Pro messages are not ban-worthy, but mods will time them out from forum access if they're reported because they are basically sending unsolicited spam.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, understand, and manage one's own emotions and relationships. Healthy communication the process of exchanging thoughts and feelings openly and honestly, while also actively listening and understanding the other person's perspective. Similar concepts, but not the same, in my opinion. I'm continually surprised in a positive way the number of new users and veterans on CC who demonstrate both emotional intelligence and healthy communication, who actively try to engage with others to build community and rapport. There are good people here, and it comes down to talking, listening, and seeing how/if/when/where/and in what ways we align - or not - and to self-respect and walk away if our mutual needs or vibes don't align.

  • There is absolutely the rush to judge others on this forum...its sad people don't take the time to learn about one another

  • @CuddleDuncan I did report her, including a screen grab of the entire brief exchange.

  • @TheFunCartel You're my "go to" for dang near everything and you're appreciated more than you can know!! I think I'm having ceiling fans installed this week, but I can ABSOLUTELY host now if you want to "stop by" the next time you're in my area!!

I don't take these things personally. It just scares me that people who lack such consideration and respect would be "here" in THIS environment..

@Sideon It doesn't bother me that I was blocked. I couldn't care less, actually, but it scares me that there are people "here" who think it's okay to act with such inconsideration and disregard. That was my only "concern". By your own admission, this member very clearly demonstrated an inability to perceive, understand, and manage their own emotions because people who can do that communicate! Blocking is not "communicating". I don't care what the explaination is! It's the blatant display of inconsideration and disrespect that concerned me and it should concern all of us. I know I'm a good person and I have several established cuddle buddies here who legitimately mean the world to me. It's a gift FEW legitimately understand and take for granted all too often (as I'm sure the member who inspired this post does).

Thank you to those of you who've left replies. I'm not leaving, but I thought this needed to be reiterated somehow. I've been contacted by other female enthusiasts multiple times over multiple issues before and it's helped A LOT in both directions. HUGS & CUDDLES TO ALL!!!

  • @great_pillow08 - Oh, I was mistaken, thought your posts and comments were because you were upset someone blocked you. Carry on then.

@great_pillow08 It's really pretty simple. CC is a microcosm... there are good people and bad people here and everything in between.
