Anything you're embarrassed about?

I'll start off.

I'm a Las Vegas local. Granted it's only been for 2 years, but I get lost in about every casino I've been in. When I first came here, I smoked a lot of weed and went to IKEA. I had so much anxiety. Felt like I was trapped in a labyrinth I could never leave.

I hike a lot. Still end up off trail and lost sometimes lol.

  • Even though I've been a gainfully employed semi responsible adult for a good while now, I still feel myself having imposter syndrome. It's hard to believe I'm in the same peer group as others my age and in this stage of careers and life because I still often feel like a kid who doesn't know the first thing about what the fuck I'm doing. Like I still feel like a.kid lost in the grocery store who is spacing out on what he wants to do when he grows up.

  • @pmvines dude, same. I don’t think I’ll ever feel like I’m enough but so many people around me rely on me to be “the guy” and I work my butt off but I just never feel like I’m where I should be or know what I need to.

This is very embarrassing and probably not healthy but my biggest fear (more than heights or the unknown or public speaking etc.) is my parents disappointment in me, especially my mom. (I'm turning red and getting butterflies just thinking about it....). I'm nearly 24, work (at multiple good jobs), pay bills etc. and I'm currently courting someone yet it still terrifies me. I know she loves me and is proud of me but I'm still scared to hurt her feelings...terrible incentive btw lol. Wow that was unburdening, thanks for the thread @Huggycatbear

I often get embarrassed over being so picky.
Then I watch my dog looking for a place to poop.

  • Speaking as someone who does security and surveillance in a casino, I totally understand why. I almost got lost during my orientation!

I think a funny and embarrassing thing for me was when I was in London and ordered sashimi. I think the person misunderstood what I meant by how many pieces of sashimi vs how many boxes. I got like almost 12 dozen a piece and four boxes worth. Like dang.

  • I get embarrassed by my stomach size occasionally. I have to specify restaurants with tables and chairs over booths. I don’t fit in some vehicles. I bring my own lawn chair, I broke others in the past.

I’ve gotten better over the years. When sitting my belly is really prominent. There are times I’m ashamed. There are times I’m fine with it. Loving myself regardless.

  • I have a terrible sense of direction too 😂
I lose my car in parking lots. Even recently I was standing in front of a Nissan pointing my key at it for way too long. Only thing it had in common with my car was being black 😂😂
Don't apologize about getting lost in Ikea though, that's a chaos vortex. I have a distinct memory of being swept up in the pure mania of the place with my then boyfriend when we were trying to furnish our first apartment and we got in a huge fight. At some point we stopped arguing long enough to look around and saw there was like four other couples in the vicinity also in a huge fight.

  • Having had an English education, I am perpetually embarrassed about everything.

I think I find your weed experience more or less relatable. PS. From when I used to use a bit, I've since quit and trying to keep it that way. Tempting, though I'm trying not to go back to. Unless I happen to have a really good reason for why I wanna do it a little again.

I can't really think of anything I really feel embarrassed by right now lol... and I didn't really wanna think about it lol.

Though... oh gosh, I've had an experience that I should've never had, and though I tried to relief myself by the idea that whoever witnessed that is rather old... more like middle aged... though that's besides the point lol. So I was like "he or they, could've been more than one person oh gosh, is probably gonna kick the bucket in some years like 10, 20 or something.

    I hate I had to think that, though anything to relief my being seen in a way I should've not been seen I guess. 😂 😂 😂😂 😭 😭 😭 😭

I can't and shouldn't carry that with me forever though, so I've chosen to try and move on from it, not that I'm perfect at it lol.

  • Is it weird that I now size up everybody I meet as to whether or not they would be a good cuddler? 🤔 😄

  • Third grade. Had a crush on a girl in my class. My best friend asked who I 'liked' in the class, and said he'd tell me who he liked as well. Told him, and he gave me the name of some girl at another school (who probably was completely made up lol). Buddy decides to steal a necklace from his mom, iirc was real gold, 14 karat and told me to present it to her. Stalled for a few weeks but eventually got the courage, although I didn't know how to really proceed. Decided to take the big swing, went up to her during lunch recess, dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me. Little wilderdude always took the big swings. Bunch of other kids around, she was mortified, turned around and ran away, went to the girls room with some of her friends to comfort her. She was able to go home for the day, didn't see her in class until the following day.

No idea what came of the necklace lol. One of my most embarassing moments, most forgot about it in a matter of weeks but my (female) cousin who is the same age as me ribbed me about it all the way through high school.

  • I'm not sharing what embarrasses me! Kudos to all you brave sharers.

  • I get lost when the shopping mall closes. Trying to find my parked car using my air tag in it after the mall has closed is a usual occurrence for me. Like why the hell do they close all gates of the mall. I have to walk the street and go around the malls to reach my car. And why do some stores like Dicks or Macy's have longer times like 9PM whereas the mall gated close by 6PM. It should be one time...I feel it's stupid. I'm stuck in Macy's shopping till 8PM but cannot reach my parked car and have to walk a mile with my shopping bags. I have had awesome people and Uber eats drivers drop me off a lot of times. Embarrassed? Maybe I was at first. But now I'm frustrated

  • Today I was a little embarrassed for farting in the elevator just before another person got on. Completely crop dusted them. I feel I owed them a letter of apology.

  • @biancalovecraft Google Maps, Waze can save your parking location after you leave the car, so you have a way to trace back when needed.

  • @InfiniteJoy another thing for me to remember! 😅🥴

  • The amount of time I spend reading all the comments on all the threads

Burped beer in my dates face when we made out i'm like awwww shit lol i'm like sorry i ain't lady like

  • I don't get embarrassed by most things unless it has to do with my family. I guess the more I care about a person, the more I might care what they think about certain things, rather than strangers who can think whatever they please. However there are still some things like... it's a little embarrassing to admit that I can't swallow pills and always look for liquid, dissolvable, chewable, powder versions of medicines or I crush up a pill or open a capsule. I am glad I don't have any medications to take daily and that Goody's Headache powder exists (especially the orange flavor). I found my vitamins and other supplements in gummy or otherwise form.

I suppose I'd feel embarrassed if I went out without taking a shower. It just feels dirty to me and I know I can't smell good until I've showered that day lol I probably sweat a bit in a my sleep.

Oh yeah! Reading @pmvines last one reminded me of when I went to Korean BBQ last week. I was alone in the bathroom and just as someone was walking by behind me a loud fart slipped out. I was definitely embarrassed and at the same time trying hard not to start laughing hysterically at myself. I waited until the person left and then let out all my laughter before leaving the bathroom.

  • I feel embarrassed that the world is my oyster but I am allergic to shellfish.

  • @MTex right lol! Or I think to myself, Are they on the site or know that I'm on the site?" 🤣😂

I'm embarrassed of my arms since I've yo-yoed with my weight all my life and now aging, that my skin there is loose. But I've managed to keep off 55lbs after covid so I'm happy about that at least. Just hate that I can't wear short sleeved shirts without being embarrassed.

  • @friendlyj311 🫶🏼 Losing 55lbs is something to be proud of! 🥳 It's not always easy managing weight. I'm working on that myself.🚶🏻‍♀️

Looking the way that I do, people tend to assume at times that I am capable of doing things like fixing a car, or carpentry, or landscaping. Or that I'm an avid outdoorsman who might or might not drive a truck or SUV. Truth is if it weren't for YouTube tutorials on how to do things coupled with paying people to do the things that I can't then I would probably be living in a van down by the river. So don't let the beard and outdoor apparel fool you, I'm not very handy.

Not working for 20 yrs and ending up working in a crappy dead end job at 51 when I was top of my class at high school.
Oh yeah and my looks. Always hated how I looked.

I still sleep with a stuffed animal my godfather gave me when I was like two, every night... So like 40 years no biggie. Lol it's actually NOT the og stuffie. Its the exact same model brand but I have had many replacements bought over the years. The first replacement one I got, I think my parents got me on my 21st birthday.😆🤦🏼‍♀️ Because mine looked like a biohazard.

NO BUZZKILL INTENDED. I'll work through this...

I'm embarrassed that I, for whatever reason, have found myself in the strange place of having to request, of strangers, to squeeze me...???? No foul, no shade TO ANYONE ELSE, it's just that I, personally, find it embarrassing that I----- someone who is in a committed, monogamous relationship---- DIDN'T READ THE F*ING FINE PRINT, and have to ask my fellow humans to gather me up, in cuddles, and caress me so I can feel my energetic boundaries...

    It MUST be a "Cesarean-birth personality"issue!! lol

  • @Homesteader

The two most common types of cuddler:

Rapacious cuddlers who can never get enough cuddles.

The other is emaciated cuddlers lacking in meaningful platonic touch.

This site brings the two together so we can all help each other out.

  • [Deleted User]Homesteader (deleted user)

"Emaciated cuddlers".... that "stung" in the exact same way some beneficial medicine tastes sooo nasty!! Thank you for giving words to this feeling..

It's just something I feel increasingly embarrassed about.. :(

  • @Homesteader You shouldn’t feel embarrassed and I will tell you why. You listened to your body’s chemistry. Your body always tells you what you are lacking and the act of cuddling causes beneficial chemical reactions, so naturally the lack of touch causes negative reactions. The fact that you listened, heeded and took action is wisdom and you should be proud.

I tell you what is embarrassing along those lines. I have always maintained an exercise regimen for health reasons. But without doing anything different or extra I began in late February/early March to lose weight without effort. Nearly 40 lbs in three months. I was going “Wow, this rocks! I have found the Fountain of Youth!” But there was also the nagging voice saying this isn’t natural; something must be wrong. I was getting too skinny too quickly.

There was something wrong and a few weeks ago, on June 23rd, I blacked out on a plane. I woke up dazed and confused and unable to articulate anything. Fortunately for me there was a husband and wife, both physicians, on the plane and they took care of me for over an hour. The airline physician in Baltimore would not clear me to fly on my next flight so I took an ambulance ride to the hospital where they took care of me (kudos to St Agnes ER!).

I am ok but very pissed at myself because this could easily have been mitigated earlier with far less trouble and no roll of shame with the paramedics down the airline aisle with rubber neckers straining to see the victim—so embarrassing. I should have listened to my body.

So @Homesteader, you are the smart one and I was the dummy. You shouldn’t feel embarrassed for one second. You should pat yourself on the back that you had the courage to see you had a problem and do something about it.

If you don't mind me asking, what ended up being the diagnosis?
