Are ghost ... real ?

edited July 2025 in General

I recently did a paranormal / ghost tour of an abandoned hospital named Yorktown memorial near San Antonio tx ... To say the place was like something out of the conjuring is an understatement , so many times I saw shadows , felt inexplicable feelings and heard voices on my recording device 💀😳

  • I lived in a haunted house, lol many people knew it also
Never seen a ghost, but many sounds, voices and things moving around.

  • I've seen a ghost before.

  • I believe in spirits. I’ve lived in houses that have them. I also got a tour of Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery that I believe is where resurrection Mary is in Illinois. I also communicate/channel to spirits. Past ancestors and such. I say spirits which are different then ghost. To me a ghost is something that’s attached to a house/structure that they haunt and can’t or won’t communicate. As well as not being able to leave.

I won’t debate the topic. There are far more cynic than there are skeptics on it. Also, everybody has their beliefs

  • really cool

  • I saw the invisible man. And he looked at me with a knowing glance because he knew I could see right through everything.

  • Are ghost ... real ?

Hey, I believe Werewolves are real, so of course ghosts are also real to me too. 😁🐺👻😁

I've lived in two haunted houses. I respect the views of people who do not believe in ghosts ... but my personal view is that if you believe in the existence of the soul, why would it be hard to believe some souls can't/won't move on after death?

  • why would it be hard to believe some souls can't/won't move on after death?

Ahhh…the procrastinators. This is why you shouldn’t put off things until tomorrow that you could do today.

  • I've always believed but never really had any experiences. Until one night. The ex-wife and I got an old antique card table from an open house, and I'm convinced there was a spirit attached to it. Turns out she's actually grown up in a house with ghosts before and kind of know how to deal with them. And she was able to get rid of it the next day. But, that was one crazy night. Real Poltergeist type stuff. Bangs thuds sounds chairs rattling. At one point we even had the covers ripped off of us.

  • Sooo cool Mistic233 and thank you for sharing. Those EVP's are quite interesting as I have a few.

Recently Paranormal investigator Dan Rivera passed away while on a national US tour with the Annabelle doll.

Places and objects hold energy and imprints that I feel open up channels to feel or communicate from adjacent areas/events.

Physics and science cannot explain everything, yet it is documented and felt.

  • SunshineHug omg yes I heard about that
Sometimes it's better not to mess with this stuff

  • I am somewhere in the middle of atheist and agnostic. That pretty much sums up how I feel when it comes to ghosts.

  • I’ve been ghosted many times throughout my dating life, but ghosts as in supernatural spirits? Gonna have to say no

  • Ooooooo! What a cool experience @mistic233 ! I've been on ghost tours before, but not with any equipment. That would be so interesting to bring things to help suss out the supernatural feelings or hearing something👂👀

We went walking around this one town's cemetery at night....where some famous "wild west" people had been buried as well as lots of older and even unmarked graves. We were quiet and had our lights off and TOTALLY saw a feminine figure a few times! 👻🪦

We also walked along, stopping to read some of the markers, and there was a clear feeling of some specific energies at some of them. Especially at the mass grave where some super early settlers were buried together after a huge town fire claimed a large number of lives 😢 I felt it before I read the sign....the feeling of many distinct energies and the grief and loss.

Thanks for the interesting thread! 🧵😁

@TheFunCartel In addition to all the obvious reasons a spirit might not want to leave, there's the fact that some are afraid of what might be waiting in the afterlife. If they believed in the idea of Hell in life, they might prefer staying here than going there.

  • I believe in spirits, but I wouldn't say "ghosts". I lost my grandma back in January and sometimes, I feel like she's still with me- Especially when I'm being "bold" or stubborn while being challenged by someone who I KNOW is wrong-- Seriously! That woman was fearless (my dad says I get the same "determined" look in my eyes)!!

  • I was in the Kalispell Conrad Mansion Museum and was basically talking to myself when I asked what are all these crates were for (it was a room filled with antique crates). Two random fairly senior ladies were next to me when I made my statement, when a voice from the crates answered my question, only I couldn't make out the words. The ladies stared at me with the look of death in their eyes, realizing something spoke to me and they heard it. It was a low grumble, with consonants and vowels, just not words we could understand. The voice didnt sound normal, it was very creepy. While I was taken aback, the other two were scared and left me there. I asked again and heard nothing.

Later when I was leaving, the two were talking to a staff member (another older women) who was as shaken as them listening to them. They called me over and we were told there have been voices reported over the years.

This happened on a beautiful summer day.

  • I work in a house that was built in 1850. I’ve been here twice when it sounded like a heavy round ball hit the upstairs floor like what would be like a shotput or a metal ball. This was at night when I was doing taxes. I went upstairs looked around and saw nothing. I just said “Hello”. I’m not afraid of anything like that, but that was weird.

A dear friend worked at a care home for those with mental issues. One of her patients passed from this life, due to health issues. This particular lady ALWAYS opened the curtains in the morning, and she had a tv that was difficult to turn on. Two people shared a room, there, and after the lady's passing, the other patient called the nurse in hysterics. It was discovered that the television came on in the morning, and somehow, the curtains kept getting opened in the morning!!!

Are ghosts "real"? Of course!! Those of us who still have physical bodies don't realize what we are! lol I told my friend to stand in the middle of that room and speak, aloud, "You have passed from this life. You don't have to carry your handicap, anymore, but this is no longer your home. You're scaring your roommate. Look around for someone whom YOU loved in this life, and go with them."

She did this. The tv stopped coming on and the curtains stopped being opened... It's well known, in certain circles, that we typically attend our own funeral services... Be careful what you say at those occasions!!

I also know of a man who, as a child, underwent a procedure at a hospital. He left his body, and watched the clinicians working on him. Upon seeing the tears of his mother, who was in the room, he re-entered his body. However, while he was out of his body, he remembered being AMAZED at how many people were there with him----- but wondered "where" they all went when he re-entered his physical form!! Babe, they were still there... We just can't "see" them when we're embodied in the physical..

Hospitals, care homes, cemetaries,battle-grounds, and BARS are WELL-KNOWN places where spirits are known to get stuck... If anyone cares to learn more, "30 Years Among the Dead" is an AMAZING book!!! Just know-- We OUTRANK them, and can help them go to peace! :)

    I'm scary. I know. :)

When my daughter was a baby, she was laying on her changing table looking up at the ceiling and kept saying, "Emil. Emil." Emil was my dad's name, and he had passed away 16 years before she was born. That name had never been used around her. I like to think my dad was visiting his new granddaughter.

@WriterGF ~ How beautiful!!! :) Thank you for sharing this! :) The very thought of your dad visiting and playing with his precious little grandbaby is so delightful!!

We have to stay vigilant, however, because not all visitations are positive. Writer's sounded like it was, but some can be utterly malevolent, and we need to stand in our power and COMMAND them to leave. Period.

  • 100% yes, always have. Always will. According to physics- energy is neither created nor destroyed, simply recycled. We leave an imprint of us when we pass on and thats what I believe. Let’s cuddle and watch a horror film! 🫶🏻
