Birthday Traditions (around the world 🌍 🎉)

edited July 2025 in General

Waking up this fine morning to it being my birthday 🎂

It got me thinking about birthday traditions.

As we all get older I feel as if certain nostalgia awakens around our birthdays.

What are some of your traditions you like to do to celebrate or remember doing?

For me, it was always a potluck affair having a birthday in summer -- all the different dishes that family would bring, there was always something new to try.

Also: a little bonus of what some traditions are around the world 🌍

  • Happy birthday to the one and only @MissAdventurous. Have a fun one!

  • Happy birthday! Wipe off the placenta from years ago and blow out some candles.

  • 🥳🥳🎉🎉Happy birthday @MissAdventurous 🎉🎉🎉🥳
Do the things you love the most!! Celebrate you!!!

I always fill my day with everything I love, restaurants, pampering nails and toes, roller skating, dancing, all the cake I can eat without getting sick 😂 (I only have cake once a year on my birthday) It is the only day of the year that I celebrate like this.

  • Awh thank ya'll for the birthday wishes 💓

  • Happy Birthday 🥳

  • Growing up, thr tradition was that the family could go to whatever restaurant we wanted. I always chose Pizza Hut (At that time it was a sit down restaurant and it usually had a couple of arcades machines towards the back.)

  • Happy Beautiful birthday and many more! 🥳
I have a home care client who turned 90 the same day, can you imagine being 90!!

  • Happy belated birthday!

Our tradition was also Pizza Hut haha.

Now I do my traditional 'go on a solo trip for a day or two and escape from everything'.
