Im embarrassed that I c can never seem to find socks that match and have been reduced to wearing loafers
I have a huge snoz. I have considered nose surgery, but those seem to get botched too often.
So I embrace the giant nose, even if it still cant breath for shit.
We are taught to pee on jellyfish stings not jelly stains. My apologies to the waitress at Wafflehouse.
@gem7 ~ Hahahaha!!! Poor waitress!!! lolol!!
I'm embarrassed that I enjoy reading my own writing! << That sounds terrible, until I explain that it's not really MY writing.. When we sit and free-style write, like in a journal, it clears out the conduit. The broader Collective can then reach in to share startling insights, guidance, and tender words of love and encouragement to our weary souls
I usually connect early in the morning, before the world gets crazy... Try it.. You might be surprised!
@Homesteader please don't be embarrassed, look into why we need that kind of connection. The kind of medicine cuddling provides is lowering the blood pressure, stress reduction, and immunity boosting. You can experience pain reduction from endorphins and oxytocin and it can help you to feel more safe and secure. Bonded even in a community when you are struggling with loneliness. Its this sense of we all need to be so "strong" that is driving us into isolation to begin with. We have lost the ability to be vulnerable with each other. I really do hope you find some freedom in this group. Im not sure if you remember the weighted blanket fad but it's the same idea. We all need this, we just don't all know each other yet. 😉
Maybe this is a little tame, but I can't for the life of me ask people for hugs. Genuinely, it feels like I need hugs to survive, or maybe just to thrive, but anytime I find someone that I'd think is open to it, the fear of rejection hits hard and I just never ask 😅
@FixerOfPews the secret to getting hugs is "the look" and then opening your arms and raising your eyebrows... Also, pop on over to Porter and I'll give you a big hug.
@KaaGee I have a friend that has taken the position of not wanting to hug. It hurt my feelings in that she hugs everyone else in our friend group in that setting. She has since asked for favors and things using my skills or contacts, I've flatly denied accommodating..politely and my other friends look at me like I'm being mean. She once expressed, "I will never hug you."
So this kind of behavior puzzles me, now I look silly, avoiding attention to this person when we say our good-byes. Been nothing but kind, respectful not "handsy," or any of the like but here we are, tied together by mutuals.
What makes people behave the way we do?
This certainly is embarrassing because I believe hugging is our ultimate value as humans. We may create technology this or that, but the only real thing that our spirit will hold on to is our human connections.
It reminds me of the cliques that we had in school or social settings. There are people even here (I've watched) that no matter the circumstance will not interact with others here.
And that to me on a hugging site is sad.
@Dance_Culture It is not sad, it is the way things are and always have been. People have preferences and they really do not have to justify them. The reason there are rules on this site against certain topics is because said topics spark strong preferences from people. I suppose what I am saying is that I understand why you feel the sadness, so did I at one time, but if you mull it over a bit, there is an overarching truth. The truth is your utopia may be another’s hell. And we must respect that unless they are infringing on your basic human rights and needs.
@TheFunCartel
I wouldn't have it any other way.
@Dance_Culture I hug a lot of people in my friend group, but not all of them regularly. I do not, however, hug everyone at my VFW. I will generally give a hug if specifically asked by someone I don't normally hug. You're not out of line refusing to help someone that has been outright rude to you. Obviously they don't think enough of you to even be kind, so why would you? Unless it's friendly ribbing, but it doesn't sound like that's the case here. If that's the only person in your group that refuses to hug you, it's on them.
