@ladybug7 Yay for you. Sending hugs your way.

  • @lovingspoonfull , good job yourself. One thing I encourage you to consider, don't think of what you've recently done as "losing" weight. I have this theory that our subconscious views the word "lose" as a negative, and tries to undo that activity to get back to the "correct" situation. Because in virtually every other situation, "losing" is a bad thing. Lost your job? That sucks! Lost your car keys? Better look for them! Lost money in the stock market? You damn well wish it had gone differently! In my mind, the subconscious doesn't want to do the extra work to make "lose" have a different meaning in only one unique situation, so it just defaults to "lose = bad".

Instead, what if you viewed it as "eliminating excess weight"? Then, you're telling your subconscious that it is a good thing that you've done, and that the "normal" is the lower number, which will reinforce the actions you're taking to bring about that conclusion. Honestly, it took me a good year of mental training before it stuck, yet this year has been substantially different than in past times when I tried to "lose" weight, only to find it again a few months later.

Give it a thought, you might find it useful!

  • Ive gone more than 30 days without posting about my poops !

  • Swapped out all four batteries on my truck as well as all three air filters.

Gotta go install doorknobs on all the bedrooms/bathrooms/closets at the house my mom rents out lol. Last tenant stole them all When they moved out. What a bizarre thing to do.

  • @StephanJ mindset does matter. Agree on that.

For me the weight loss is not a primary goal, just a secondary benefit.

The goal is repairing impaired health and vitality. It slipped away from me, and I’m getting it back again.

  • Sorry I often forget to check back , everyone has such awesome accomplishments too! 🫶💗

  • Just finished lunch

  • @TheFunCartel
At Gencon, I made it through the preliminary rounds of a couple of the tournaments I joined. I also made it to the final table of a trick taking card game called Skull King. It was fierce competition for some of the games.

  • @LadyVel That is awesome! I bet you learned a few things playing top competition.

  • I graduate Massage Therapy school tomorrow!

  • @TheFunCartel I did learn a few things and I finally grasped how the scores were tallied for Skull King.

  • Another health update: my basic health numbers are all still headed in the right direction. 😎

For the first time in too long I’m realizing (viscerally) that the way I felt was not aging only, but a real health decline. 🫤

The journey is not over, since I have some progress that still needs to be made, but every day, as tough as it’s getting, is a motivated one.

Indirect indicators of positive movement is that my energy and stamina are skyrocketing. ⚡️of course now I have to do something with that energy. 😇

As I mentioned back in July weight was a secondary concern but also a welcome improvement. But I’m now down 38 lbs net. Elimination of fat plus addition of muscle mass.

This is also cuddle-adjacent because I have found so much encouragement and support from the friends I have started making here.

You know who you are, and you are very special people. 🤗

  • My post on tiktok got 1.3M views 😇

  • @newme27 Is it sad? Or stressful? Or awe-inspiring? I am really curious.

  • Made it to class on time 💅

Completed 300 volunteer hours through August. . My goal is 500 this year.

  • @gem7 I can’t tell you how much that warms my heart every time I hear a fellow human gifting their time and hard work for their fellow human being. People like you give me hope for the future, but such a bummer how rare it is currently. Thank you for your service.

@TheFunCartel Thanks for your kind thoughts. My parents set a great example for helping others so I feel I am just carrying on a tradition. The four organizations I volunteer with are hurting badly for help which is why I get more hours.

  • I got approved today, to be on here and I’m super excited about it!

  • I got approved today

@RestHaven You haven’t passed my smell test yet. J/K

Seriously though, welcome to the community. I remember the beginning of being here and I am jealous of your situation—the excitement is still there for me but all the firsts years ago were head spinning, illuminating and calming all at once. I wish you nothing but the best experiences.
