Site rules about haggling on rates

Have a general question that im not understanding. I asked a professional if they would consider a lower hourly rate. My account then gets suspended temporarily. Admin says thats against the rules, however I have read the rules multiple times and I cannot find anywhere that there is such a rule posted. I think the admins should consider changing that rule because when I cone back turns out the pro agreed to a lower hourly fee and because of the suspension that pro lost out on business. Can someone tell me where this rule is because I cannot find it.
Also made a poll cause im curious on people's general opinion on it, especially pros

    What do you guys think the best way to go about negotiating prices would be? As a lonely 30 year old guy who makes roughly minimum wage, I've noticed that in order for me to get 1 hour of cuddles, Id have to pay my entire daily wage as a trade for that.

    Do pro cuddlers often do negotiations? (I.e. "Ill do your dishes, sweep your floors, and give you 40 bucks for an hour").

    Is that sort of thing viewed as acceptable on this site? As a guy who hasn't held hands or done anything intimate the a woman for about 7 years, I've wanted to try this cuddling stuff but its super expensive

    There are some pros out there that charge $60-$80. You might need to travel a little bit depending on your area!
    I do know some pros that will swap stuff for snuggles like handiwork and things.

    Keep in mind, there are some pros that don’t like to be asked that do all you can do is try. Like if someone offered to fix my door or something in my home, I would drop my price to about half for the hour 🤗 just depends who you talk to!!
    Make sure to have an inviting profile. You seem sweet as opposed to entitled so surely someone would be down for that, as long as the pro makes it known in the messages!!

    The only time I ever try to negotiate are multi hours. If I’m booking a pro, I will ask if they have a multi hour discount. In your case, I think asking for a trade may be against site rules. If it’s not, I don’t know that you would have much luck. You probably just need to save up.

    As you have just joined this month I would encourage you to first take a look at all the plethora of information out there in the forums re this stuff.

    Take a look at profiles and see what you can do on your end to be the kind of cuddler others would like to connect with.

    ALSO…. A low cost alternative to finding some touch opportunities with other cuddly people might be a facilitated cuddle party.

    There are also MeetUp groups that might be in your area. They are facilitated by someone who has been trained. Cuddle Party isn't the only organization that has a desire for this thank goodness! Cuddlist is another great organization as well. Its a great place to dip your toe into the world of what cuddling is about. They used to do Cuddle Expos as well!! Lots of learning, exploring, connecting and relating etc.

    Speaking for myself, I will decrease my rate or 2/1 it for someone in those circumstances if I know/like/trust them and see them regularly. I don't however entertain negotiations in introductory sessions or messages. Just be a good reliable person and courteous, low maintenance client (no last minute cancellations or other draining behaviors) and I think you can easily find someone happy to work with your situation.

    moderator here, hi! Just wanted to let the OP and whoever else would like to know that negotiating prices with a pro is not allowed in general. Some leeway for long cuddle discounts, travel etc. however, what a pro says is their price is what’s expected. You can’t outright haggle pricing. At least that’s my understanding of it.     I was literally thinking this morning about how I would barter landscaping help for cuddling. =P I have one side job that is low pay, so I completely get the feeling of working all day and the money earned disappears SO quickly and easily! =(

    @stormydaycuddle why is negotiating not allowed? I can see why bartering wouldn’t be allowed because it would be complicated for the site to put a price on that in terms of getting their 15% As far as negotiating though, that occurs every day with almost every company in the world.

    @stormydaycuddle I'm going to second @Morpheus question - if the pros on the site are truly independent contractors, then the site shouldn't be involved in setting their pricing at all, and that includes the ability to negotiate (or REFUSE to negotiate) fees. But having the site prohibit negotiation leans toward creating an employer-employee relationship rather than being independent contractors.

    There are quite a few pros who expressly say on their profiles that they'll offer discounts, sliding scales, and the like, and clients in general shouldn't be prohibited from asking whether a given pro is negotiable on price. Now, as with other things on this site, if the client is demanding, rude, etc that shouldn't be permitted (and doesn't the site have rules for that kind of behavior already?). Of course, trying to re-negotiate AFTER setting the booking is also not ok (I've been told about this kind of conduct by pros more than once).

    Just food for thought.

    My guess would be negotiating is frowned upon because a discounted price means less money for the site. But Juba makes a good point. If I go to Fiverr to sell my freelance writing services, they don't dictate my hourly rate.

    I mean, if someone wanted to do a day of yard work, I'd be willing to book an hour session (as normal on the site) and that would be their payment. I'd still pay the fee and everything.

    Don’t barter/haggle. They set their price for a reason, just like you set whatever search preferences you have for a reason.

    I think there's a misunderstanding about what the word "bartering" or "barter" actually means. There's been no mention of bartering which is to exchange a service for another service, or goods for a service. I think the word you meant was "bargaining ."

    I'd prefer not to bargain with a pro but it's not wrong to barter!

    I've occasionally trade and bartered cuddle sessions for work on my car, exchange for professional massage, chiropractic care.

    If the site sets rules against negotiating prices or against bartering, then doesn't that lean in the direction of creating an employer-employee relationship for pros, rather than having them be truly independent contractors?

    Maybe it’s just me but haggling with a pro cuddler sounds incredibly tacky and disrespectful. “Nah, your time isn’t worth that much to me.” Yikes.

    And we can’t pretend there’s not a safety risk to being a pro cuddler, so just like… don’t try to manipulate or coerce your pro cuddler. Seems obvious.

    Haggling with a service provider about their rates is disrespectful and tacky. If there is an issue with services provided that's one thing , but what someone charges for their time and effort is their prerogative. Find someone more in your budget but don't treat them like a bargain bin at the flea market.
