I had a client book a virtual, agree to a rate, and we had a handful of messages about boundaries/expectations as I do with every client. He had a few positive karmas and it was a phone session.
Day of, he ceased communication. I messaged a few times, then let him know I was cancelling the session and while I would leave karma regarding the no-show, I am happy to update karma when a session is successful. He eventually messaged a day later and said he had stressful day and apologized. I told him I understand, and he asked to reschedule. I let him know that I require a deposit to rebook after a no-show. Later, he told me he'd rather have the bad karma than pay a no-show fee. I told him it's not a fee, I just need some of the session rate paid in advance to set aside time for him again. He was not happy and told me he was uncomfortable with that and that "life happens" so I should understand. So I wished him well.
I just went to his page and in the last 48 hours, has gotten three different one star karmas for booking virtuals and ghosting. Now I'm wondering if I should report? I don't know why someone would do this. I guess either way he's unlikely to get any other pros to book, given he has a pretty low rating now. 😬 but does this violate TOS? Or just a suboptimal client?
