Elevated coffee... experience? I buy green beans wholesale, 20 pounds at a time. I roast my own beans, weekly. I grind coffee fresh each morning, and then I use a really nice French press. There is not one coffee shop I've ever been to that comes even close to the glory and splendor and smoothness of the coffee I make. But no, I'm not interested in starting a coffee shop. Yet.

But yeah, coffee is for me at least partially a social experience. But the higher quality the coffee, as a starting point, the better.

I can't do coffee ... I've tried several times but I just couldn't aquire the taste. The closest I could get was a cold nitro blueberry something-or-other.

Then my tastes changed. It’s definitely not something I sipped once and said wow, this is awesome!
But now, it’s an experience from scent, to taste, to soothing seeping relaxation.
For some reason it does not amp me up, it settles me.
Newman's Own is my top choice for thecKeurig. With heavy whipping cream.
@lovingspoonfull I definitely know of people in which caffeine ends up being more of a sedative than energizer (not really the word I want, but i am blanking on the true word).
I have definitely had tastes change for a lot of things. For whatever reason, it never clicked with coffee; every so often I try it again at work ... especially if they have blueberry one. They say "it is the coffee for those that dont really drink coffee".
I have always liked to smell though.
@GuyverGordon I think the word you're looking for is stimulant.
It's fairly common for stimulants to have the opposite effect and be relaxing for people with ADHD.

For Phoenix, one of the best was already mentioned…..Peixoto. Not far from there, also in Chandler, is Sagebrush. Excellent, but they are a little like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld….though directed toward coffee. They will not put syrup in a Flat White (my drink of choice), only in lattes.
But they are not as bad as Dark Moon roasters in LV! Those folks will not only forbid you to get syrups in capps or Flat Whites, but they also won’t allow milk to be added to their single origin espresso drinks at all!
But both those places have excellent coffee that they roast…..just do it their way
Perhaps my favorite espresso drink is Yaw Coffee in LV….only to go, but fabulous.
Back east, my two favorites would be A-1 roasters in Wilmington, VT (and the best bakery I have ever been anywhere is right next door, Starfire)….and Road Maps in Lexington, VA….both are off the beaten path but so worth visiting
@IronLemon you are correct. I was given coffee as a child to settle me, as my mother refused to put me on Ritalin.
To this day the first cup settles me down. Too much though and I get twitchy.
Never really amped or stimulated like others though.
Bear and Dragon Cafe in Prescott, AZ. Half English pub, half tea house or coffee house. If you look it up on yelp there’s over 300 pics. Interesting little place that is very cuddle friendly.
Many of the tables are little love seats where you can cuddle your way through a morning coffee or a nice quiet dinner.
Another downtown Chandler option. Nice little place on Boston called Maple House. Good coffee, lots of seating including some couches that could support cuddles.
I enjoyed the outdoor fireplace.
@lovingspoonfull Those are some great places in AZ. I've lived here for 26 years and haven't come across either of them. I'll be checking out both places, for sure. Just got back from Savannah. Lots of great coffee shops there, like Origins Coffee
Mozart's Coffee Roasters sits right on the bank of the Colorado River in West Austin. You can arrive by car or boat.
This café has an eclectic coffee menu and a bakery offering lots of goodies, and features plenty of seating, especially on the large outdoor patio under the canopy of the giant oak tree.
Mozart's hosts quite a few events throughout the year (some are ticketed). It's truly an icon of Austin beanery.
While not the OP's preferred Arizona locale, I thought it worthy of mention considering Austin also begins with an A.

For you phoenix cuddlers or travelers Sozo coffeehouse in chandler is interesting. The staff are enthusiastic about their coffee, knowledgeable about how it’s made and friendly.
The vibe is chill, nice little band stage in the corner, and a crazy amount of space. Multiple leather couches for public cuddles, lots of comfortable arm chairs.

The Bean Roasting 🫘 Swinging bench seats, shaded outdoor seating, wicker pod chairs, fantastic coffee, and staff. They also feature a Sacramento favorite past time, 🤩 Gunther’s Ice Cream. 🍦
Last pic is my home addiction of pour over coffee and I enjoy making fresh pots for my esteemed cuddle guests.
