  • @starrynitecuds I know, right? I still have some nice perks like full car allowance, home office (although I like to be in the office once or twice a week when I don't travel), nobody micromanaging me... but the probiotic deal is pretty neat πŸ˜‰

  • My Boss (and others that I've had in the past ) do this really fun thing where if you are really good at your job and capable they'll add more stuff onto your plate and your pay check doesn't necessarily reflect that extra work load. It's my absolute favorite part of the gig.

  • @KittyPukka that's some good observational humor right there !

I have a twist on this topic while reminiscing on company perks.....

I worked for a retail chain that had 21 stores in three states. I was a district manager that would supervise the managers and staff at some of the various locations. Traveled a lot by car and ate and slept on the road so to speak. We had an expense account which covered gas/ mileage, meals, and lodging. We had to turn the expenses in , I think weekly, or every other week . This is before computers, internet, cell phones, credit and gas cards, etc. were mainstream like 1980s timeframe. So you had to keep all the paper receipts and collect them so you could get reimbursed quickly and turn them in with the expense report of course.

Well the other district manager came up with this novel idea that I still chuckle about almost 40 years later. He started skipping his meals or most of them for a bit . What he did then was kept count of the meals he missed during a certain time period and.....lol....he took his entire extended family out for a Mother Day celebration at a fancy steakhouse and turned that pretty large bill in as his business reimbursement expenses!

Well long story short, the company did reimburse him, but of course clarified business expenses in a memo to be followed from that day on. Kind of a good perk I guess! 🀣

  • Mine comes with a free addiction to alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. Didn't understand why it was offered when I started but now I use those percs more than anything 🀣

  • My job offers me the ability to work as much or as little as I want free hotels and transportation when I’m working. FREE health insurance which is worth its weight in gold and free standby flights for myself mom and children domestically and we just pay the taxes internationally I’m never leaving lol

  • @Iworkwaytomuch but are the alcohol , caffeine and nicotine free? πŸ˜‰

  • @Cozy_Soul hold onto those for dear life!

  • @Cozy_Soul dream gig when I retire! Can I send you my CV? 😁

And how about the employers that reward you with shirt pins? years ago at a Papa Jones franchise by me. We had a team meeting/training session, and they so proudly mentioned the Bronze Eagle pin as a reward for hard working employees.
I walked over to the trainer after the meeting was over and asked how much groceries can that bronze eagle buy? and he goes "I'm sorry I don't understand the question" so I asked again and again he failed to understand the question.
there's a good chance he really didn't understand because some of them are so full of that $**t they actually believe it.
you buy 10,000 of them on Alibaba for $100 bucks so you can take that bronze eagle and shove it up your @$$ sideways you little _____.

and I see them at Home Depot as well, So many pins you can barely see the shirt .

  • @Sooson I think they call them "flair". πŸ˜†

@4cuddles Oh, forgot about them, that's a win.

Seems odd for a health service to promote McDonald's lol but yeah

  • @DaveFromSussex I know! Also a high discount too@ Smh.
Thanks, I'd presumed blue lights discounts were very similar or the same as the NHS offers.

  • Just realised the NHS gets discount on various...adult things...so yikes to that too.

  • @DaveFromSussex I won't ask how you learnt that. Lol.

  • But I bet those are healthier for you than McDonald’s…. πŸ˜‡

  • πŸ˜… Oh geez.

It came up as a 'top deal' for Black Friday. Might be safer just to burn the site down at this point

  • @DaveFromSussex Lol that escalated!

  • I get free chess sets. Is that cool?

  • @KuddlyKoala yep! Game of skill. Are they unique ones?

  • I got awarded."Caregiver of the Month"
The company car and $100 in gas.
But really, like finally I get a little pat on the back!
    It's an underappreciated field πŸ˜‡
