Seriously

Does anyone actually use this for what it is supposed to be? It's strictly not supposed to be about sex, and people are already trying to use "all expense paid trips" as payment. Seriously?! Please tell me there's more legitimacy to this. I understand the science behind it and want to help heal people not whore myself out.

Men want to use this site to get what they are missing in their daily lives.

I get the companionship thing, I'm hoping to focus on being rehabilitative and healing. I was offered to be wined and dined all expenses paid but not be paid for the physical contact. How am I supposed to pay my bills or the site for that matter. Another asked for kissing to be okay even though that is also not supposed to be a thing. Does anyone use this as a therapeutic tool or are people just using this as a cover for prostitution?

I could have joined an escorts service if I wanted to do those things.

    I'm disappointed thus far
  • The site is legitimate and will become whatever we make of it. A lot of people have expressed similar emotions. Perhaps instead, there should be more posted of how this site should be operated, What would you have different? Do you want your messages monitored? You can report misuse of the site and such. If you don't, then you really can't really complain about those who would solicit whatever they want. There are bots that invade these sites as well. The site was not developed to figure out how you are supposed to pay your bills. It is simply a tool being provided without charge to those who have an interest in cuddling.

    Hey Indigo,
I hear what you're saying, loud and clear. The fact is that people will use any form of social media to look for any kind of social need they're missing, much as SnuggleSymmetry insightfully suggested. For many guys, that may be sexual. For many women, that may be emotional. This site is about neither, really (that I can tell), though some people on here may consent to either.
My point is, please don't let the inevitable blurring of social media platforms be a deterrent against using it for what it's intended. I admit I'm mostly posting this for selfish reasons; I'm a guy, and finding a cuddle partner that I can trust that also trusts me is difficult. If we let unsavory people drive us away, the community will suffer and eventually disappear. Let's stick it out and grow it instead. Are you with me?

Unfortunately I don't think it's really possible with websites like this to prevent all people from using it as a dating site, or looking for a hookup. However, you can screen people yourself, and make it very clear on your profile that you're only looking for something platonic.
  • I feel you guys. I am more surprised because I want to direct my clientele that I already gained myself through this for professionalism. The first thing people see is a barrage of posts looking for sex. I will start posting more science backed articles of the benefits of platonic cuddle and WHY one would feel the urge to be sexual. If more people could explain the link between cuddling and the hormones associated with them. I'm sure there's previous posts but let's pin them or make many new ones so new clients see the facts not 300 requests for hook-ups. You're right it's up to us the make it stick and not turn into some online brothel thing.
  • @indigoOuronoros: I think that we should have a Hugs Awards for commentary such as yours, I look forward to your future posts!
  • Pardon my offensive comment but indigoourborosos you are way too attractive to make it easy for the average guy to keep it strictly platonic .
  • So, don't be average.
  • This is why I deleted my profile picture long time ago. When my picture was up, people sent me messages and offered me money to cuddle and provide other services.
  • I'am only using this site to look for a platonic cuddling experience myself, though i would not be surprised if there are people on this site looking for more.

I've said before that if a situation should occur where cuddler and client develop feelings for each other and wish to be exclusive, that's just fine in my opinion. But yes, to come in and expect anything more than just cuddling is pretty foolish. A site like this is going to attract creepers, sadly. Best rely on our instincts when someone doesn't come off as genuine.
  • Sadly people will misuse lots of things, I just had my first cuddler from off here, and have been cuddling on craigslist for about 2 years, but so far this site looks pretty helpful! :) hope everyone can get what they want out of this. just remember  your in charge of yourself. :P

I've cuddled with @Brandi, she posted in the comment above me, for a couple years now. FYI she's awesome and I recommend her. We haven't messaged each other enough yet for me to leave karma but on her page but I will as soon as I can.
  • If you want to be professional, only way is to make your own site. You can't expect a site you have zero control over to do that. On your own site you can post those articles and links. As for kissing, a lot of people are craving that just as they are touch. Just saying. But as others say, people will use whatever it is they have to find what THEY are looking for. Look at Tinder. That was never supposed to be about sex but it is now.
  • Perhaps platonic cuddling is a flawed concept.  Seriously, were we all raised as puritans? Men are men, women are women and not Eunichs.  Let's keep it real, please.
