@sooson
I only go to the original one in Lincolnwood to be honest. Try I think it’s Paisano’s, which is the other brother that didn’t make it so famously. You can find out on Google if that’s the correct name Yeah, it has gotten bad with tipping since the 90s. I’ll tip a good waiter or a waitress and I carry cash for that. Same with delivery to the house. That way they can claim the taxes themselves based on how much they made. A lot of places I heard have been made to text no matter what whether you get a tip or not sometimes. All at the same rate.
I've all but made my peace with fast food a long time ago, but when that hunger hits, my immediate go-tos are Five Guys and Jersey Mike's. Other than that, I'm more of a home chef whose burgers, chicken and pizzas are, more often than not, better than the chains because we take. Our. Time!!!!!
@jamesDC I’m with you. I despise fast food.
My mom taught me how to cook when I was a child. So, I’m in the kitchen every chance I get.
If I’m on the road, and there’s no Sprouts Farmer’s Markets, Whole Foods, or any other place that will allow me to put together healthy combinations, I’ll just go without eating, because no food is better than bad food.
Five Guys has become so expensive that I feel like they should offer Klarna or some other "pay-in-4-instalments" program.
That's probably coming if not here already
I remember some guy paying for a 6 dollar Starbucks latte in installments lol
I will gladly pay you on Tuesday for a hamburger today.
@IronLemon Thanks for that post. It gave me a good chuckle as I always loved J. Wellington Wimpy.
Anyone ever watch this guy’s videos?
i’ve been likin the Baconator from Wendy’s a little too much lately
As far as the Big 3 goes (I'm sure most fast food enthusiasts here already know what they are) Wendy's is my favorite and has been ever since I was in middle school. Yeah I was that one kid that picked Wendy's over Mickey D's.
Overall, for burgers my solid pick is Shake Shack. Yes it's certainly more pricier than your usual fast food burger fare but lets be real, since Inflation-gate that gap has shrunk significantly to the point that If you're gonna pay close to $10 for a premium burger from one of the Big 3, might as well put that full Hamilton on a Shake Shack burger and the quality along with the taste is WORLD'S APART.
For Chicken, lately Jollibee has won me over. I was a longtime Popeyes fan but they've definitely peaked since the Chicken Sandwich war of 2019. It just ain't been the same for me and Jollibee has filled that void. For those unaware of the Jollibee brand, it's a Filipino fast food joint and when I first came across it almost a decade ago, it was only on one location of NYC. Now there's 5 of them and are spreading out more in the Tri State. Jollibee stands out more than just it's chicken, it is very varied from their sandwiches, side orders and desserts. It's uniquely Southeast Asian and very good.
Del Taco has great burgers. Ironically I've never had the tacos.
Jersey Mike's
In & Out cheeseburger regular or animal style. I don't like their fries though.
Charcoaler Drive-In love the original cheeseburgers. I just add tomatoes. Their fries aren't the best but the fry sauce is awesome!
Burger King every once in a while. I loved their pickle fries but of course they were only a limited time item. Thankfully the ones near me have excellent Health Scores.
Sonic also had good pickle fries also limited time item. 🫤
Taco Bell - Nacho fries 🍟💓
Chick-fil-A for the tortilla soup when in season.
Carl's Jr. California cheeseburger & fried zucchini.
McDs -Big Mac The story behind this is that when I was 7-8 years old my dad wanted me to go to catechism. He would bribe me to go with a Big Mac every Wednesday. I think it was BOGO free on Wednesdays. I hated going to the classes but it was nice spending time with him one on one. This thread brought up that memory. 💕
My all time favorite is In N Out Burger, but there aren't any near where I live in NY. I also love Potbelly for sandwiches, but have to be in NYC to get it. Red Robin is definitely overpriced. I used to go regularly. I also miss Boston Market.
I had to bring this thread back from the dead now that the McDonald’s CEO’s video of him pretending to eat a new mcdonalds “product” has been going viral for the past week.
Five Guys is still the best.
@disneysamurai I just had the “product” about 30 minutes ago. I’d like it better with Big Mac sauce, as I’m not big on mustard and the Big Arch sauce is mustard based
I had In n Out a couple of years ago when I traveled to Cali, it was really good. Probably the best fast food I’ve had.
Jersey Mike’s, Cane’s and Five Guys are probably my top 3 around close to where I live
With the exception of setting like lead and not very user friendly, I love my White Castles.
@Thenewestguy i recently went to White Castle here in Orlando and unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of the chicken sliders because they were pretty dry. Hopefully this was just a fluke.
@disneysamuraidisneysamurai... i've never had the chicken sliders...just the hamburgers... Good but deadly...lol
Went to Raising Canes for the first time today and their chicken sandwich is dope. They definitely live up to the hype. Fries are alright; I prefer five guys fries
@disneysamurai Cane's is able. As for that guy's videos you asked about, I'm subscribed to his channel.
I keep a healthy diet and never eat fast food.. once in a blue moon Chipotle but only vegetarian with brown rice… I used to eat fast food as a kid but gave it up at age 17 & never looked back
Been eating at Zupas quite a bit lately. Variety of protein bowls, salads, soups, and sandwiches.
I used to love taco bell in the 90s when I was a kid. Especially the kids meals. Now... I only get it when I'm in a rush and didn't bring food because it's the closest place to work. Just on the corner a 1 minute walk away. But definitely not my favorite at all. Just tolerable.
My favorite fast food places are probably Wendy's, white Castle, and Taco Burrito King (if that counts as fast food.) I try not to get these often though anymore. I was having factor meals for almost 2 months and went from the upper 170s to 157 with minimal exercise. I had to cancel due to the cost and I think it was hurting my stomach. So I'll try to prepare lunch ahead of time mostly and not gain it all back at these places lol.
My uncle keeps claiming that when he used to eat a bunch of white castle sliders, his cholesterol somehow was lowered. I joked and said maybe because of all the "sliding out" cleansed you.
Chipotle's is good and one of my favs. I will say Habit, Chipotle, and Betos (a local Mexican fast food in Utah)
Fast food prices in LA are through the roof so I haven’t been eating it as much.
Hi guys!!! I’m a Vegan myself, so going out tends to be challenging. Culver’s has a veggie burger but it’s still made with cheese I used to like BK’s impossible whopper.
