_ i love cooking practically anything, but my favorite is desserts. I make a 7 layer banana pudding made with layers of vanilla wafers, pudding, bananas and white cake& coolwhip
Favorite Desserts .., Pesca gelato ( Italian for peach ice cream ) and Matcha/Jasmine Green Tea ice cream π¨ π Your Banana pudding with vanilla wafers looks like it might be delicious too! π
There's not much food in the desert though π
Your 7 layer banana pudding is unique, but would be a little much for me. I'm a recovering sweet tooth addict. I had to step away for health reasons. I do make exceptions for cheesecake from time to time
My boyfriend had a clementine for dessert, today. ππ
Meanwhile, I got out a spoon and a tub of vegan cool whip... ππ€

Most cinnamon based desserts I love. Also Cannoli
@TiredAndBored for me itβs Ben & Jerryβs Pistachio Pistachioπ
As someone that lives in the desert. I rather enjoy water. Fruits are also nice because they contain a lot of water.
I've made my peace with desserts a long time ago, but every now and then, I get the urge to make myself some Jell-O, some lemon pound cake, or when I'm with one of my long-time family friends, her signature cupcakes.
Carrot cake w pecans instead of walnuts for me, I bake one just about every year for my birthday.
@MeltMyWay OMG...looks delicious. Make me one. I'll pay. (if it's not against the rules)
Dilly bars. Unsupervised I could eat a box of them in one sitting.
I live in So Cal and So Cal is actually a desert and my favorite food is Mexican food so I suppose my favorite desert food is Mexican food.
@Thenewestguy unfortunately I don't think it would travel well at all. But thanks for the compliment
That banana pudding looks immaculate. It's been YEARS since I've had any and I might go out of my way to get myself some.
But yeah, I'm a certified Chocoholic so I'd go for anything chocolate. That is my vice and one that's had a grip on me for of course most of my existence.
@MeltMyWay I dig the attention to detail on the carrot cake. I've personally never had carrot cake. Something about carrot combined with cake never meshed well with me, but yours looks delish.
Chocolate or coffee gelato Choc mousse Tiramisu
I was so excited thinking this was going to be favorite desert food and I was so excited to share when my friends and I were camping in the desert and my partner pulled out a fresh pineapple and chopped it up and fed it to me by the fire lol I guess that fits for desserts too. But I love chocolate! Lava cake is probably the best especially with raspberries
In all seriousness. Iβm a pastry guy. A nice simple cinnamon roll does it for me.
Cake? I love cake. I like most desserts π€·π»ββοΈ
But that picture is a giant pile of death for me, or at the very least a hasty trip to the ER π desserts with banana will likely be the death of me, possibly literally π
the last time I ate banana was accidentally in a chocolate muffin a student made for me back in 2017 or 18. My dumb ass ate it on the way home from work in rush hour traffic on the Davis-Sac causeway (iykyk). Didn't realize they'd used banana as an egg substitute. And I didn't have my epi pen, only benedryl. So I downed three and prayed the entire way to the ER.
Definitely learned two big lessons there: don't eat unknown foods in rush hour traffic when you have food allergies, no matter if you haven't eaten all day and they smell sooooo good; and don't trust baked goods just because you can't smell the forbidden fruit ππ€¦π»ββοΈ
Side note: apparently chocolate covers the smell of baked bananas really well. RIP me and others with latex allergies π
@cuddlefaery Ooh, I didn't know banana allergies were a thing (though I know pretty much every allergy/sensitivity can be a thing...). I sub applesauce for egg in my baked goods. π
@SunsetSnuggles yeah, it's one of the more common cross-reactives with latex allergies, which are also rising. I'd known since childhood since I and both my sisters inherited some weird allergies from our mom, but it really came to a head when smoothies and egg substitutes became more common in the late 90s/early 00s. Thankfully it's a pretty easy allergy to manage and my reactions have thus far been relatively minor. Gave me a whole new appreciation for the more extreme food allergies, though!
@cuddlefaery Very interesting. I'm sorry you have to keep track of that! I know someone who developed an egg allergy, mid-adulthood. Life's just gotta whack us in the funny bone to make sure we're awake, sometimes. π
@SelfMadeJay thank you ... I've made prettier one but that one turned out better than any I had made before. If you're gonna give it a try I suggest. It going with a grocery store ine .. it will disappoint. Try a bakery
