Would you book a pro cuddle who has no pics?

edited March 21 in General

In my opinion, since cuddles are 100% platonic, then physical attributes, nor their level of attractiveness should play a factor in receiving a much higher number of cuddle requests and bookings. Do these high number of Karma reviews + a “pro’s” attractiveness strongly correlate? Just like my 100% platonic doctor, accountant, and massage therapist, I would 1000% book with a pro-cuddler with NO pics! ✅ Concerning safety? Would you request photos of the electrician, plumber or cleaner before they provide services in your home? The pro’s are also representing themselves as a business & service - Do you agree that their reviews should be suffice to make an informed decision or do photos play an important role in your decision to book?

  • Pro cuddlers on this site are required to have a clear face photo, so it's not really possible to book a pro who has no picture, unless that infraction hasn't been reported yet.

  • @BlueIris yes, that’s correct, but the question at hand is both hypothetical and the poll is “Do photos play an important role in your decision to book?” So, I’ll ask you, personally - cuddles are 100% plutonic, why would photos play a major factor? 🥰

  • I know it's a common typo, but just FYI for anyone who isn't aware: plutonic ≠ platonic.

In answer to OP's question: in general, for safety purposes I think up to date pictures from both cuddle partners are important, pro or not. Requiring pros to provide face pictures here on the site is just one of many tools to protect against fake and scam accounts. Frankly, I wish all users were required to have a real photo (taken with their camera/webcam by the site, not uploaded from their phone gallery).

Do people tend to pick cuddle partners based off of their sexual/romantic orientations and preferences, despite it being a platonic activity? Absolutely. Should they? In an ideal world, no, but humans are never ideal creatures and this is still a very new industry with a very large lack of literacy and skills among the participants. I don't think it's realistic yet to expect people to fully understand platonic intimacy until our society as a whole shifts to stop prioritizing sexual/romantic intimacy over other forms.

  • Looks are not a factor for many people. Enthusiasts and pros alike have posted that in various threads. But we as women do need to know who we're meeting in a crowded coffee shop or wherever, so it's common that we will ask for a photo. Men may have a different view and experience. I can't speak to that.

For me personally, personality is what I base my decision on, whether the person respects my boundaries, isn't pushy, etc. But I still will want to know who I'm meeting, so if there's no photo on a profile and I intend to meet in person, I'll ask for one.

  • The pictures someone selects gives me more information about who they are and how we might get along. Just like a five paragraph profile will probably give me a better sense of who someone is than a two sentence profile, the pictures someone chooses to use to represent themselves can help me with the comfort/vibe check, and I’ll feel more familiar and at ease when we first meet.

I do not think it's wrong or even sends any underlying message if someone takes into account physical features.

I've seen people (mostly on the internet) argue that it's racist, or w/e to have preferences.

I think a person's preferences should remain sacred. They shouldn't be judged for it.

So if you open a thread like this and say your stance that looks shouldn't matter and it's platonic, you are setting up a trap to shame anyone who might think otherwise.

Who I choose and who chooses me for whatever reason shall remain private.

  • Heck no, are you crazy? I

  • @Midnight01 hmmm interesting - In your opinion, why do pics matter?

  • It’s not “interesting”. It’s common sense. Live in the real world please.

  • @durantpiano I stand with you and 23% do, don't let the individual above trigger you like he tried on another closed thread 😉

  • See, anyone will get shamed in this thread for saying no.

  • lol.. trigger? WTH are you? It’s a ridiculous question, the “poll” will be 80-20 issue. The “shy” musician with a million followers who just joined who has never had a paid cuddle, or any cuddle just happens to post? Another banned goof just effing around.

  • @Midnight01 You run the risk of getting flagged and banned for unkind and derogatory energy. Be nice. 😊

  • pros must have clear profile pictures of their face. If they don’t report them. Do not book. It’s against the sites policy.

If you’d like to further debate and poll go for it. Letting people know it is a rule.

  • @durantpiano you sure happen to know a lot of rules for just joining…. How’s your million followers going? Care to share some of your music or where you’ll tour next? 🤣🤣

  • @Midnight01 It cost us nothing to be nice, to be empathetic and to remain peaceful positive and loving. You are unnecessarily projecting negative energy into this thread. It doesn’t matter if you have 10 followers or 1 million followers - Love Wins… so be nice 🥰

  • @durantpiano So by your logic that cuddling is just a service, enthusiasts should just enter a request for service and the next pro in line should get the cuddle? Kind of like Uber? Oh wait... Uber drivers need to have a photo so that doesn't work.

  • Right, no answer ok your “music” You are a fake goof just spamming. How about you try and hire a pro without exchanging photos. See how that goes,

@durantpiano welcome to CC ! Wishing you well on your journey here .

As some have already mentioned the overriding thought here is everyone’s safety This debate actually comes up somewhat regularly and typically the conversations will center around everyone’s safety involved is paramount.

And your comment about other professionals and photos before meeting … I’ve noticed last few years when dealing with home maintenance repairs I regularly get an email / text of a photo of the repair person who is coming to my home
Now fixing my furnace is 100 percent platonic so why do I need a photo of the technician? The company I’m paying I’m sure wants me to feel safe and secure knowing who’s coming to my house . ( My doctor , accountant, banker all have their pictures on their respective web sites also. )

@OhioMike Point on safety is great.

But also, technician isn't going to lay in bed and snuggle with you.

Cuddling community is unique and makes it hard to compare with most other services.

There is a platonic intimacy involved.

So how about this question, since cuddlers on this site are allowed to have companion services that can emulate a date (without kissing etc.) and join stuff like work events.

What if someone chose someone based on appearance?

  • Companionship services (date nights, events, etc.) are not allowed. If you see them on anyone's profile, please report it.

    https://help.cuddlecomfort.com/article/113-why-does-cuddle-comfort-not-allow-companionship-services

  • @OhioMike So do you make you decisions when looking at their photos based on safety alone or do other physical aesthetic factors play a role?

  • @BlueIris oh bravo! Very happy to see this rule being more enforced. I couldn’t tell you some crazy dinner/event plans I saw and spoke on that in the forums. Pros were charging $100 an hour just to get coffee and talk.

  • @durantpiano imo there are many factors starting with everyone’s safety and other factors including but not limited to just safety when selecting someone to provide you professional services.

If you’re able , can you give me a more specific example of what you mean when saying “physical aesthetic factors” ?

Im probably gonna get flak for this but i base my choices on 4 things.
    1. Location, host or guest they have to be relatively nearby since most charge for travel if they visit or i cant justify a 3 hour round trip drive for a 2 hour cuddle.
    2. Karma. 0 karma accounts that are new im wary about since ive encountered so many fake accounts that try to scam with no intention of meeting. Ive been stood up a few times.
3/4. Price/Looks. At $150+ there has to be a level of attractiveness for me to justify the price point. At cheaper price points it matters less and less as the price gets cheaper. Ive never cuddled an enthusiast before but if i did looks wouldnt be important.

    Bring on the pitchforks

  • @BlueIris Then y'all better get on it. Because there are a ton, I mean a ton, of pros here that have a dinner and event choice.

  • @Huggycatbear then report them when you see them. The mods don't comb through all the profiles on the site - they act based on reports. They're not paid employees, they're volunteers with limited access and powers, so it's up to us users to be their eyes and ears.

@cuddlefaery I don't have the time to report every single one. This is not my job either. I have a full time job that takes many hours and two side projects (I'm an author and video game designer).

I don't have time to go through and report profiles.

Also the companionship services post is nebulous at best.

I'm glad that texting services are now banned. They weren't the last time I perused this site.

Seriously use AI to comb through looking for companionship keywords because the rules post states: "Companionship-style language" and I'm not even sure what that is at all times. Such a gray area. AI could flag so many of these pages.

What, if someone introduces themselves and calls me hun?

I reported a sex worker who had a page of offerings. All she got was a temp ban. Somehow she retaliated against me and I got a temp ban. I'm not going to risk it, sorry. Not when enforcement doesn't really stick here. It's a waste of time.

  • Don't create a thread if you can't digest other opinions

I think mods can skim through majority of profiles if they spend less time in moderating threads. Not being sarcastic, just observation and math.

Moderating the forums is only one very small part of the moderators' role, largely because the forum is only one small part of the site. Moderators never trawl through profiles looking for trouble, we have neither time nor inclination. @CuddleDuncan
