Why is there such a disparity in price? (Price Mega Thread)

    @consciousseeker while you didn't quite phrase it this way, i can understand wondering "why are people willing to pay a cuddler a higher hourly rate than they would pay a degreed professional?"

    Credentials can be highly useful, but are not the be-all, end-all for earnings ability. There's no shortage of kids graduating college with bachelors and masters degrees in various topics who have very limited earning power, because they took liberals arts courses rather than math, science, business, etc. Contrariwise, there's folks who get certified & licensed as a welder or plumber who can make $150,000 a year for having that useful skill without a college degree.

    Higher education like doctors certainly confers a valuable skillset, but the people who want and need such services quite often lack the ability to pay what the work is worth, yet the doctors still have to provide necessary medical care. Cuddlers on the other hand have a skill set that is in demand, and they can afford to be selective on who they get hired by, so the people who are unwilling or unable to afford a pro cuddler's rates just end up not hiring her. The people who can afford it pay, and the pro then has no reason to lower rates.

  • I think like just about any other professional service, including right up there with doctors and lawyers, the service ranks right up there with it. It is personal, it is private and you were putting yourself out there and actually in a vulnerable situation. The right person will pay the price to have the right service. I was a sole proprietor for over 10 years in a different type of service and weeded out the ones that were frugal and Nick pickers and would you like a dog. It was the ones that paid high dollar for your service and weren’t complainers. Those are the people that you wanted as clients.

    @consciousseeker

    You are starting to do that main character syndrome thing where you think that it's all about what you want and then crash out because you can't accept that not everyone is getting behind you.

    God I love this site…

  • @Jubal you phrased it well for sure. Short and to the point.
    I agree a degree cannot guarantee quality.

    @SensationallyMe
    My point is - more and more people would need this kind of service and less and less people would be able to get it. We are all contributing to it. As seekers and providers.

    @pmvines - Not very sure what you are intending. But this is not about making a team and shaming the ones that do not agree with us. It's about creating awareness, sharing thoughts and learn if my perception is skewed.

    @consciousseeker

    Then you might be wise to listen more and talk less . Especially when there are people who have been on here much longer than you who know a lot more about the site and how it works. Rather than being hyper vigilant about trying to correct every person who posts.

  • @pmvines
    Speaking up and responding with more thoughts is not unwise.
    If being on this site longer = they know more? Yes.
    Should we just listen to them? Debatable. Some of them said spending years in college securing degree does not mean they should make more money. So spending time years on this site does not guarantee they are right. Their logic, not mine.
    Hyper vigilante?? - I enjoy healthy banter within a reason. and when someone responds to my message, it is respectful to respond back when time permits. If my comments made someone feel hurtful..I apologize. Common decency.
    Correct every person who posts?? - I have disagreed with some and agreed with some but never corrected or said someone was either right or wrong. Disagreement is not saying other person is wrong or correcting them. There is a fine line there.

    For the most part in this world, right or wrong is a perception not a fact.

    Feel free to piss and moan away . Hope it's productive . I'll be cuddling with my peeps ...

  • @pmvines - I don't know if any of this is productive but name calling/deflection is certainly proven unproductive. Have a fantastic day to you.

  • It depends, really. Super low pricing can attract 'the wrong' type of clients sometimes. It does not mean it has to be super cheap to be successful. Well at least in my opinion. Plus not everyone looks at "cheap things" as good. I would think of the type of client I want to attract for example - a. - a person who can barely afford it , or b. - someone who would not negotiate or obsess about prices for travel, deposit etc. Cheap does not always mean good.

  • Why is it suddenly so expensive to get a cuddle?

  • Why is it suddenly so expensive to [literally everything]?

  • Why is it suddenly so expensive to [literally everything]?

    Creating a lot of things makes each individual thing less valuable.

    When exchanging things for stuff, the less valuable things are, the more things will be required for stuff.

  • I'm a pro cuddler based in the UK and I charge £100ph on this platform because I can't host from my home and hire a space to do my sessions from which means I'm not actually earning anywhere near £100ph plus then the fee that CC take off brings it all about the same as the price I charge my clients I have that come direct from my website or social media.

    I do sometimes think about lowering my price on here to attract more clients but I also have my business head on and recognise that my fee needs to take into account my insurance, time, ,training, worth and I know I bring genuine value and support to my clients. I'm in this because I believe passionately in the importance and benefits of platonic nurturing touch.

  • I’m not gonna lower my standards or sell myself short for some lowballing cheapos when I can get plenty of business at $100 plus an hour! Why should I? This makes me so mad! Don’t partake in this if you can’t afford it simple as that! The price of everything is up right now nothing different with this! Idk about others but my time is too valuable!

  • Also you get what you pay for. I can’t speak for everyone else but my services are well worth the price!

  • @Cuddlebuglover6 I 100% agree. I’ve also found that the ones who nitpick over cost are also those most likely to push boundaries.

  • Not just gas! Average cuddler in South Florida is 150-180/hour. Remember when they were $80? Sorry, for an hour may just get a great massage for half the price!

  • I’m in Ohio and gas prices are almost triple since I joined cc so … 🤔

  • Moving this to the price complaint thread in Professional Cuddling.

  • To the pros: can we stop justifying our fees? Opens up the door for people to nitpick every reason you state.

    No one has to hire anyone on this site and there is plenty of variability in pro offerings and price ranges to meet client budgets. Those who want a cheaper service or can easily go to a massage spot for “half the price” - please, go…as quickly as you can. Run, don’t walk. And bring your low balling, whiny friends with you. Pro cuddlers are just fine without you. 😊

  • It's supply and demand. If top cuddlers can gross hundreds of thousands of dollars a year charging $150- $200 or more an hour, it's because people are willing to pay up to $200 or more an hour.

  • @Kempist don’t know why you’re extrapolating to yearly salaries; the tread is about hourly pricing not yearly income for pros. And yes, we all understand basic economics. I think the bigger point here is that there is no standardization in this “profession” or in this site, and just like literally everything else for sale in the world, there are varying prices and varying levels of quality and service. Consumers always have a choice. Don’t know why anyone would expect this service to be an exception to that.

  • @cozycuddler4you So we have to limit our comments to strict rules?

  • @Kempist not at all, go on with your comments, please. Tell us more about supply and demand curve… I was just saying the thread topic is pricing, not assumed yearly revenue for pros. My attempt was to refocus, not start some petty forum fight. Chill. Please.

    @Kempist I concur with @cozycuddler4you on that there are no limits to comments here on forum (of course following the rules) So i am not sure where you experienced that here? If anything in my opinion the forums here are not strict at all.

    Thank you for unblocking me and sending me a DM about this thread. (And by all means block me again as that is your prerogative 👍 which I also fully support here on CC)

    I felt my response was a sarcastic response to a sarcastic post btw. And if offensive, that was not my intent. As always if I post anything here or elsewhere and peeps find it uncalled for please flag and report to our forum moderators.

    This is my favorite thread out of all the ones here on CC. As I continue to learn and grow in our society , it is a good reminder to me of male privilege as referring to the cultural advantages men often experience , because, well... simply because they are male!

    This thread of many combined posts over the years is again in my opinion an example of deep rooted societal expectations and when there is an opportunity of women earning more than men in any kind of occupation , maybe just maybe, that is seen as a threat to society to folks.

    This thread is a constant reminder to me that there is so much improvement and learning in society about how we treat everyone.

    I do wish you and all the posters on this thread well. My other wish is we can all celebrate the success of the many professional cuddlers on this site and other sites.🙏😊👍

    Can I adjust/change my rate later?

  • Hello all, iam new here and trying to understand the pricing. Is it common for pros with hardly any reviews to charge 200+ an hour ? I see lot of pros with tons of excellent reviews charge around 100$. Is there a hidden fee ? Can they ask for more when we meet for cuddle ? If so, can I cancel session then ?

    Iam confused, 200$ an hour, seems a bit over ambitious pricing to me, especially new pros. Thanks in advance.
