Aww, this sounds nice. I've put it on my calendar and will definitely try to be there. Thanks for organizing!!
Yay fun! Please add me to the attendee list. Will be coming with @raeasha72 if you'd please update her from maybe to yes. It will be our first cuddle meetup, looking forward to it! Thanks for organizing @tranquilheart and @Bear !
@tranquilheart Any updates as to how carpooling would work.
Just curious, I'm not from the Chicago area, but I will likely be there that weekend. Would it be inappropriate for me to attend? I acknowledge that I have nothing to offer being not from the area, but the experience would be very worthwhile for me at least.
Don't think jose_david will be going... just a hunch.
@rubycuddles
@Huggablesoup you should absolutely come out! The more the merrier!
@alz480 I think @inxsight had offered to help with that. Probably worth following up with them directly!
We’re still working on coordinating rides for a few people coming from further out. If anyone is driving from the southwest suburbs and has room for one more, please reach out. I have someone looking for a ride from that direction!
@inxsight I understand that your offering to help with the carpooling
More days to.
oh my goodness, this sounds like a great time! I wish I wasn't working that day
So I'm still a maybe until I hear from my family what plans are for my grandma's 80th birthday (which is the 29th) regarding the weekend. If I'm free though I'd like to make it. One thing I'm struggling with is figuring out what's a good idea of something to bring to this. Any suggestions would be helpful.
@CSnMUS87 thanks for bringing this up! We’re planning a potluck, so it makes sense to keep track of what people plan to bring so we don’t all bring the same thing!
For broad categories, it makes sense to bring a couple proteins, a few sides, chips&dips, drinks, and some desserts. I’d also like to make sure there are options for people with dietary restrictions, so things like a bean salad or cowboy caviar work for gluten free and vegetarian people. Chicken salad and potato salad are potluck classics. Slow cooker chicken or meatballs would keep well, and things like fruit/veggie trays and rotisserie chicken are good last minute options.
If people post what they want to bring, I’ll add it to the original post. Then I can try to fill any gaps if there are categories no one has claimed.
Hello, I am new to this platform. Would love to meet everyone there! Marked! See ya!
Yes I'm planning to attend 😊👍🏽 Happy to meet new faces ♥️
@amberll & @Kokopantz cant wait to see you there!
Thanks @CharlieBear
Hi everyone! I’m extremely new (26M) and don’t know anyone on here. But I’m interested in this fun event and live close by.
@jmon123 welcome to the site. Now you have a chance to meet people.
I would love to attend, and I will try to make it. However, I have a busy schedule with traveling, so could you please put me down as a maybe?
@Abu76 will do. Hope to see you there!
We scoped out the location this weekend and it’s looking great! Sharing a couple of photos: the park entrance and the path leading up to our pavilion.
One heads-up for navigation: the location appears differently depending on which app you use: • Google Maps: Alison Woods Picnic Grove at 2856 Milwaukee Ave • Apple Maps: Alison Woods Picnic Shelter at 3020 Milwaukee Ave
Either way, you’ll end up in the right place. Just look for the pavilion once you’re in the park!
I’m sending so many good vibes your way CHICAGO!!! There was a funny request over in the MEGA Meet & agree thread and I thought this was a cute mention for the area.
Hey let’s all meet at the Bean in Chicago for a flash hug!
Wishing you all so much goodness this weekend!! 😊🌻🌼💛☀️
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
My apologies everyone, unfortunately I'm gonna decline the invitation at this time. I honestly havent been able to trust most of the connections I've made here and im truly disappointed... my PTSD won't allow me to force that uncomfortable feeling away. I hope everyone has an amazing experience 🙏🏾. Take Care Community ♥️🤟🏾
@Kokopantz I’m really sorry to hear you’ve had that experience! That’s genuinely disappointing and you deserve better. I have a lot of respect for you for trusting yourself and making the choice that’s right for you. Wishing you all the best and hope our paths cross again someday. Take care of yourself. ❤️
It's starting to look like a yes for me, but still not at 100% yet. But most likely I'll be able to come. Hoping I do and get to meet a bunch of people.
Hello! Just wanted to update my rsvp - I will sadly be missing out on the meet n greet. I have a final exam and paper due that weekend. Please share an extra hug from me!!
@Heart_Held we’ll miss you, but thanks for the update and best of luck on the paper and exam!
