@BellaAine -- not sure if you meant to tag me or if you mixed up identities between myself and the other person you tagged?
Because I 100% agree with what you're saying.
"Patriarchy is a myth."
That's solely an opinion. Enjoy😊
The majority of power in the world is held by men and always has been. I'm honestly shocked anyone would attempt to contest that. Matriarchal societies are quite rare in humans.
Rare indeed. And also not opposite of patriarchy. Matriarchal societies aren’t where women aggressively rule over men as the men do over women in patriarchal societies. They tend to be based more on community consensus. That doesn’t mean they are without conflict. But damn. That would be so sweet.
Very true. Compare the societies of chimpanzees versus bonobos for an example of the difference. It's wild.
I was sick recently. Several people knew I was sick. I called out of work so my coworkers knew, of course my wife knew, my Daughter knew along with several other people. I had a couple people here on CC reach out and ask how I was feeling but other than that and my Wife, literally no one else checked on me. This isn’t an isolated incident, it’s very rare that people ask me how I’m doing and I think this is a reality for many men. There’s an expectation in society that we are big strong men, we don’t get sad, we don’t cry and the value that we present is what we can provide. Of course, many men also love this role, providing for and taking care of our family is a big source of our happiness, it definitely is for me. This to me relates to what @Sunrise_Snuggle says because for the most part, no one wants to hear a man complain about how they feel, for the most part, no one cares about how a man feels. I am not trying to detract from what women go through, I am not a woman and I am only speaking on how I feel as a man. There’s a great song by Dax, I’ve posted it more than once. It’s called to be a man and I think it gives great perspective on how many men feel. I posted the song behind the spoiler if you’re interested.
Ghosting is a thing now. Some people do it for a reason, others don't. My advice is just move on.
@Morpheus you are literally describing the patriarchy and how it hurts men. Exactly. And this is what people like me, feminists and other humanists are trying to change. We are trying to make that the norm, that men seek help when they are struggling, that they reach out and go to therapy and talk about their struggles and learn how to communicate in healthy ways, be vulnerable.
@Morpheus That is an awful experience. But @SpicyNSweet is right. It’s patriarchal design that does that. It hurts everyone. Patriarchy doesn’t mean it’s your fault. But without the support of men it won’t be dismantled. You keep yourselves under your own boots.
@SpicyNSweet it’s like when my kids are really sick and I’m trying to get them to take medicine to get better and they’re like “I don’t want it I don’t like it!” And they fight me and spit at it as I try to give it to them. And in the end they realize it tasted like berries and wasn’t that bad and oh my gosh they feel so much better!
When life presents obstacles, I confide in people I know, if I feel like doing so.
For me personally, I wouldn't want to share those obstacles with the whole world. Amd that's my choice.
But I certainly don't blame some patriarchal menace for that.
@TxTom there's absolutely zero reason to mock. We're being quite serious, and we actually care. There's ample evidence the patriarchal system is real, and you're being rude rather than have a productive discussion?? That's...certainly a choice. Also, we never said dismantling the patriarchy means you'd be FORCED to talk. That's being disingenuous and you know it.
Wow. Someone discloses vulnerability and is mocked for it. Imagine that. That would be the very system at work. Whether you know it and are consciously aware of it, or sadly more likely, not aware at all.
Nope.
I am being serious, too. There's nothing compelling me other than my own decision as to whom I confide in.
I'm not mocking Morpheus. I respect him greatly. I was talking about me.
You're mocking our words and comments about the patriarchy. It's uncalled for and frankly, quite uninformed.
Italicizing the words patriarchal menace in response to our reasoned, thoughtful comments is pretty gross. Do you typically diminish others like this?
I've read comments about the patriarch for a while on these forums. My use of the word was a response to the collective mention of it, not just your comment here in this thread.
You're not addressing my comments
Don’t worry @SpicyNSweet he promised he makes amends and reflects on his mistakes. So we’ll just hang tight for that.
People can believe they are free. That their decisions are entirely their own. That with just will power they can make every call without influence. But that just is not how humans work. Down to the epigenetics firing in your dna.
You can think you make independent decisions but you have been molded and guided down to your core. By those that came before you. By your families. By your community. And yes by society at large.
To be unaware of that will keep you locked in those prisons, certain you are free.
Beautifully stated ❤️
What am I supposed to address? I say that I make my own decisions. Others say my epigenetics are calling the shots, instead. Okay, fine, whatever.
Do you typically diminish others like this?
I don't diminish anyone. That's not why I'm here. And that's why I would never say "ACAB," like you did.
Continue being disingenuous. And I'll say ACAB AGAIN AND AGAIN😂❤️ why? Because I'm sick of watching the harm wrought upon human beings by a corrupt system. I care about others.
@JargogleBearHug You came off too strong and desperate in your first message. Keep it short and sweet. If she bites, match her energy. Just because we are online does not negate intersexual dynamics. You're dude #99 trying to get her attention that day. Messaging twice showed desperation and came off as a creepy stalker.
Also you knew there was little chance of success because you and I (I'm in my 40s) have had enough rejection to know a 54 yro guy needing a walker does not entice a young woman. Next time invite the ladies to your next gig. Don't mention anything personal or about physical contact. Just make friends and see what develops.
Good luck.
I'm chiming in as a female enthusiast....
First, getting blocked & ghosted is inevitable on this platform no matter your gender or how you identify. 💯
From experience I can tell you women are not immune to being blocked or ghosted by anyone including men. The cuddle community can be extremely particular on who they choose to embrace. ⛔️
My two cents... as some have already mentioned... you could have been blocked for sending more than one message &/or for being out of the age range.
If it was me, the mention of lack of intimacy/sex in your marriage especially on an intro message would have raised a flag alerting me to pay close attention.
After a few "alerts" = 🚫
I feel bad for the OP. He came here with a genuine concern but this thread has gone completely off track.
OP got plenty of good feedback though @Morpheus ... Though things certainly did veer in several directions in a single day!
It’s gone off and back on the track several times. (Morpheus you joined in on the off track comments too silly). Such is as threads do sometimes.
OP got a lot of good feedback here though. So I don’t feel bad.
@JargogleBearHug That was a nice first message to me. You shouldn't have sent a second one though, silence indeed is an answer.
I see the usual suspects have taken over another thread and made it all about them and their opinions again. Keep going and soon there won't be threads to take over anymore.
I think maybe you should just start using the block option too!
I block people who ghost me all the time, block and move on. It’s not about gender, it’s about respect and accountability. I hold everyone accountable to my personal respect, and if it’s not reciprocated within reason then there is no connection and no point to moving on with that connection.
My advice to you is be more willing to end connections, you can’t force something if it just isn’t right and that’s for two to decide.
If you’re being eaten alive by anxiety, action is the cure for it. Get your body moving, exercise, and build your own strength.
Hang in there boss.
@BellaAine u took the words literally rightout of my mouth when u said " I block people to protect my time and energy all the time." I feel it's healthier to nip things in the bud, lingering may cause unnecessary obsessions so I'm direct when I'm no longer interested. @JargogleBearHug ABSOLUTELY DO NOT take being blocked to heart lots of times it is not personal and u shouldn't feel bad if it happens to u again. 🙏🏾 Hope this was helpful 🙏🏾
Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback, good and bad. I appreciate it!
